After 40+ tries, I finally cleared this stage. This stage is unbelievably brutal alongside SN-7.
SN-7 is a cakewalk with Lappland

You can get a stable auto in OD-8 after some time of improving it steadily, but this here is just annoying without units like Gnosis or Fartooth

I think it's a nice reference to how creepy the cthulhu mythologie is. The demons in the north and the seaborn are really resembling the lovecraftian eldritch monsters

Fun fact: If you have the +1 block buff, then using Beanstalk's summon is a permanent 1 block unit (as long as Beanstalk is alive), since even when the summon gets deactivated it gets the +1 block, making 0 block into 1 block. I used this to make a somewhat reliable Auto-Deploy on SN-9 to block the Invisible shits.
I noticed it as well with skalter that her summon will also block

When I got annoyed with the dodge enemies, I started using kal'tsit while saying: fuck'em up monster!! XD

For those struggling with the nethersea brand here's how it works and my suggestions based off of Kyo's guide:
You have a 12 second interval on this stage to clear out the muck.
4:31 The bottom Brandguider is now below 50% hp so it'll spawn muck underneath him infront of Courier
4:43 Ch'en has killed the last Founder enemy which spawns muck underneath itself when it dies in front of Spot
4:43 (video slows down) Kyo immediately deployed the roomba to clear the muck
As you can see it's a very tight 12 second window start to finish
My suggestions are:
1. activate ch'ens skill just a bit later, or
2. Use lappland KekW

My units on average are E1 lvl 45 with a E2 silverash and I spent 6 hours trying to complete this stage using this guide. I had to improvise a lot because my units aren't exactly the same and are slightly weaker but I managed to complete it
Jaye can help a lot on the top left side dealing with the evade trashmob with his S1 and some other places

The mob is more difficult than the boss, especially the top part is cancer lmao

Use Fartooth (mostly S2) against dodge enemies to make everything much easier. (unless you wanna stall them for redeploy cooldowns or skill recharges)

you can also use Spetre she can literally stay in that spot even till the 4th boss phase and clear everything.

The dodge of the boss at 2nd(3rd?) phase can be ignored by not allowing him to eat the Remains of the Regressed Predator(pointy head monster). This can be done easily be letting the Swarmcaller(mushroom head) die one block before the Predators spawn box(thus putting the Swarmcaller's Remains closer to where the boss dies).
Note: this change STILL does not make auto deploy any reliable but it does make the fight less RNG based
If you have the Little Handy add-on that gives your operators +1 Block, and if you have a good AOE guard like regular Specter (actually I could imagine even Estelle to work), you can just keep them where they are instead of retreating them at 4:11, which makes the timing to remove the Netherbrand on the bottom lane way less precarious.
Well, fortunately I don't have need of any cutting fluid.
Most of us don't since there's really little use to it aside from masteries but not a lot of ops need it for that reason either

While this time I had some good 6* operator, I actually did it myself, this guide helped me figure out the timings and how to deal with some enemies.
Your guides are godsend ngl., a year later this is a intermezzi/sidestory and damn, its a tough nut to crack.
Still better then Dolly, the sheep of doom.
Just finished this stage with 3 stars to get the background 😭😭 took me 5 hours or more😭😭😭 im crying because it was so hard and i feel proud of myself and pain at the same time😭😭 thank god i have chalter but i had to borrow goldenglow otherwise i couldn't do it... Anyways,

Finally got a clear on this, thanks for giving me some good ideas. I mostly focused on the right/bottom side since I have Blaze and she basically soloed the left box. I used Lappland to make the bottom area a bit easier, but still really needed a borrowed Chen since I don't have anyone with that kind of burst. Toughest part was that damn invis/increased atk mob at the top, which I used regular Specter to tank long enough to get it down.

That part is a pain in the ass. Since My caster and healer keeps dying because of the spewer, because i kept getting reminded for the last 2 month by this kind of stahe that my healer sucks. So i had to modified the strat a bit.
I hope they're gonna stop with the evasion gimmick....it's been what, three bosses in a row that had some form of evasion to fuck up auto deploy? (Andoain, Manfred, now this thing)

@@Hindshell5438 eh, he's fairly old by now, so I didn't count him on the dodge streak. Plus he's in IS2 anyway, meaning you're never gonna auto battle him which is where dodge really becomes annoying
This is how mobs feel when they fight Flametail.
At least it was kind of interesting with the ice cream event boss (don't remember the name), but unconditional evasion is just so annoying. The most interesting aspect of AK events imo is the mechanical difficulty, but artificial difficult in the form of dicerolls of evasion is just so disappointing.
@@njebs. To be fair, this boss does not have unconditional evade. It only gets it if it gets the Predator (beaked enemy) remains, and both the Predator mobs and the boss loses its evasion if it's afflicted by a status ailment.

If you guys have Ifrit, you can use bot lane as an Ifrit lane so that you can kill the 1st wave on the top lane in any order

Man you're right about autodeploy. I actually managed to clear this myself (using Eyja and Mon3tr's S3M3 on the boss, Surtr S3M3 for the dudes in top lane, but I could not get autodeploy to work properly. Something was going funky between phase 3 and 4 which made Surtr's S3 either go off too early or not at all, or retreat too soon which let one of the top row dudes through. Unfortunately I don't have my own Chen. Maybe next time her banner comes around RNGesus will bless me with her.

if you use the roomba to stun and deactivate the dodging at the right time, you can autodeploy much easier

For those who are doing auto deploy with this strat reference, keep in mind to make sure that Nethersea Swarmcaller (aura caster) is the one to die in 40th or before the 3rd regressed wave come because if the one to die in that timing is Nethersea Predator (dodge merchant), the RNG will mess up the entire auto deploy as the 3rd regressed wave will only appear after the 40th enemy dies.
UPDATE: It seems the only way for consistent auto deploy is pure damage vs the predator

Tip- on the top right, if you take +1 block you can spawn camp mr fish monster with arts guard. Then also easily clean the tile. 😊 can also help with preventing leaks at the end when fighting final boss.

Wow, that was only one the most pain in the ass levels I've ever played.
I remember running through this stage the first go round and the only thought running through my head was, "How many phases do you have?!?". Solid video, better strats than i was using at the time.
This made me realize why the boss was so brutal, I think I managed to get it to eat every single wrong top enemy... Still beat it by bruteforcing with Surtr a bit but still...
If you have gnosis, lappland, mon3tr you can put them on the bottom side of map you can ignore what the boss gonna eat
Do Gnosis and Lappland need to have any mastery skills? I have those two but no skills are M3. Kal has S3M3
Nope mine was lvl7 only kal was s3m3 and they works quite well in full auto

@@rosie-he6fg put mon3tr on the defender lane first than lappland on top of mon3ter and gnosis on chen place. If you have wandering medic you can use it instead of normal medic but make it facing left so your lappland and gnosis stay save.
It took a fucking ton of finagling and replacing Gnosis with Mostima, but this advice led to my victory.

the third times I manage to quell the enemies at stage 3 only to see the dang thing to pop near the blue box. I gave up my shit and came her for aid.

Just something to think of, W 2nd skill on the far bottom left tile trivializes the boss and dodgy bois with the stuns
I opted for Saileach with S3 face down to debuff on top of the stun and let Irene nuke the boss every spawn
the mine exploding is what applies the stun, and if they dodge the mine (which they will) there is no stun. I learned the hard way 😢

Attempt 32 still cant beat this. The timing to kill the enemies that spread mud is so precise i cant ever get the timing down.
This method helps me also I have lappland S2 M3 and with Surtr even this boss eats the one that increase damage nope sending back to the abyss!

Anyone else having a problem with jellyfish stage boss spawning *behind* the deployable tiles? Even throwing surtr down it just walked into the goal before I could kill it (maybe if I'd been faster on the deploy, but still 😩

i have the same team comp as you, but chen will not kill the enemy at 4:30 quick enough so that the blue stuff doesnt spread or i waste 2-3 drones clearing the blue stuff. Is it litteraly just rng? keep bashing my head against it until I can clear it?
i just want to say take 45 MINUTES to clear this stage and manage time to use skill fck this event but thanks kyo for guide i really really dont have much time to think about clear all stage

Of course I _immediately_ fucked up and had both enemies die on the same tile - but surprisingly, it worked nonetheless. Lv. 90 Chalter killed the boss faster than my defender could die, and I used Bubble and Gavial as defender and medic, so it's definitely achievable, so if you should end up in that situation as well, don't end your run yet.
What exactly does Lapland's silence do to these enemies in particular? I have her at E2 30 so I'd like to use her but not sure how best to use
lappland can stop the 80% dodge enemies from dodging, and also stop the enemies that spawn creep on death/at 50% hp from doing so. very useful 🥳
I used her in every stage and she was the mvp for not letting the enemies spread that fungus

how do you mop up the spread on the bottom lane in 1 go? It always spreads that i need to use more drones to clear them
Finally i could do some thing about this stage, still i couldn't do the timing well for the last "boss food" so he left, hence i didnt get 3 stars. However i am just a casual player who wanted to pass to get the reward. I don't even have a raised ranged guard OnO because i don't have any.

I have failed autodeploy but usually after a leveling or promotion for the stats change, but i though the autodeploy uses a rng seed so evades, crits, etc are allways the same in the recorded battle.
Ceobe is really good if you allow ama to eat the defense one
yeah the rng seed was proved to be not true, and you can easily see it by yourself
Penance was MVP for me. Kept the boss literally at the starting tile at the top right of the map for me and killed it essentially on every spawn with reed alter 2nd skill and Kross alter
E2 lvl 1 mountain can hold papukar lane very easy if struggling for DP.
One year later and I still cant believe newbie me managed to beat this stage back then. Took a week tho
4:45 how does the nethersea thing doesnt spread to vanguard's place ? It always spreads there too so I cant completely clean it.
Edit : Managed to do same tactic but used ifrit on bottom to kill boss quickly, worked well.
Hard, but then I remembered Kal true damage. So then I started blasting, didn't have to manage the boss artifacts. Still wish I had Surtr though would've made a lot of things easier. Turns out Kal S3 and Chalter S3 just solos a lot of this stage. You just have to manage that damned Nethersea Brand, and some skill timers.

........I have no idea how I cleared this just now. I panicked and used all my ground Operators to stall the final form (had Myrtle out still for DP) until I dropped down Blaze and then Eyja for any leaks. Once Ch'En took out the normal fodder I just dropped Surtr (who died against the top lane enemy, again, panicked) and killed it.
Can someone explain why i cant find a Chen with Skill 3 M3? I have E2's in my Squad.
