On another note I just subscribed. Thank you very much for sharing your experience, your settings, and your setup. You are sharp 😎. I use my pulse on 33% background and 33% on time at 1 to 2 pps. I'm going to try bumping up the speed some. I dont do much SS. Mostly just steel. Im up in the 250 amp area on 1/8th inch with filler. I just lay wire. My eyes aren't what they use to be and my filler hand is slow so I bump up a filler size and just lay wire. Again... thank you. I am going to some oxy/fuel cutting videos in the near future so look out for those.
Try these setting and let me know how you like them. 300 amps 15% on time 30% background and 1.5PPS. You can do lay wire. If you want to dip filler try same settings but .9PPS. Happy welding
@@belloautomotive1522 thank you. I am going to start a note book and make a holder for it to mount on the side of my 400. I went a little overkill on my welding equipment here in the home shop... my mig set up is a XMT350 and S74DX Feeder with a optima pulse pendant. I want another smaller tig and and mig set up for the other bay and I am looking at Avortec and Everlast. I have a Everlast 100s plasma that I retrofitted a Hypertherm Duramax torch to which made it perform much better. Ill give those settings a try. Thanks
Curious how strong autogenous stainless welds are? Especially with the heat cycles a stainless weldment usually goes through(downpipe,header,exhaust etc)
Pretty strong if not just as strong if done correctly (purged and full pen). Welds usually crack on the HAZ so regardless if you add filler or not its docent crack on the joint itself.

Why do you need to be water cooled at 100 amp with pulse?
