I've been tattooing for years. Really i believe your videos are very well put together. Very informative, and the fact that you show the techniques as you explain them is probably very helpful to those watching. It's very relieving to see someone make these videos with others in mind. Most artists are very secretive and rude about showing people things. Even through my apprenticeship I myself honestly never gained any true knowledge or understanding of the right ways to do things. Mostly learned by observing others, and trial and error. So i very much appreciate you dedicating your time to help those with the same interest!!!

I watch your videos with my morning coffee on the daily. You are so incredibly talented and informative. I’ve worked in shops for years prior to opening my own and it’s mind blowing how secretive tattoo artists are! You have created such a positive platform for us tattoo artists working towards perfecting our craft, I appreciate you so much! ⚡️🤍

Most informative tattoo videos I’ve seen to date. These are similar techniques to what I learned in the pen. Came home 8 years ago and never fully adjusted to coils. Tatted all over the world, including England, btwn RAF Lakenheath and Mildenhall. After watching your vids, I junked the coils and went back to my roots. Feels just like old times. No longer trippin over my gradients or stressing over portraits. Keep doin the damn thang homie. So many artists are stuck up and stingy w information. Your contributions are greatly appreciated. Your craftsmanship is superb.👌

Nice work and great video! at about 8:50 you mentioned using a liner with quick motions for stipple-type shading instead of using mags. I think that's a great idea for smaller areas and I'd take that up one notch by suggesting what I do, which is use a 9RS for that. It works great and helps to keep hamburgering to a minimum. Love your work!

That slowmo effect your camera is making is caused by a combination of a fast shutter speed and the frame rate, if you slow down the shutter speed it will give the motion blur effect that our eyes see and make the video look real

Hi this is Carrie again I just left you a question but I've been watching videos and practicing and practicing for the last three years this is the first time I ever seen what this technique that you're doing right now is this the first time I seen it so last night after watching this video I went upstairs in my tattoo studio which makes me mad to unbelievable terms that a prisoner can do this tattooing with a staple pee water should from a pencil and a deck of playing cards I have a whole studio a whole complete Studio inside my house I have three different kinds of rotary five to six different kinds of eight coils I have about 10 to 15 different kinds of 10 coil machines but after watching your video last night my artwork has improved tenfold thank you so much I didn't think that you could shade with a smaller needle like that I've been using a 7 flat 13 flat or a 15 flat trying to get my shading so much smoother I ain't going to use them no more I'm going to use your Technique and thank you so much I appreciate it. so I answered my own damn question thank you.

    I have a few questions:
How do you clean the needle so there isn't any water?
What to do when cartridge splashes?
Do you use always same voltage for lining and shading? or you change it? Do you change voltage when you use other colors?
Do you use dettol to reflect the pattern?
I've heard some tatuators put their elbows on their knees to gain better stability, Do you think it's a good idea?
What do you use for the pattern so it won't go down?
    Thank you so much again!

The tubes he uses are for cartridges. Switching needle is as easy as changing the tip on the grip they twist right off and you can twist another one in. It doesnt have a single bar running from the needles to the machine like traditional needles. Look it up pretty nice bit of technology for the industry.

It seems like no matter what technique I use, or how much volts I use, or whether I use round or magnum shaders I still need to go over the area about 20 times or more in order to get a full dark shade. I'm using Dragonhawk two coil shadding and colour packing machines with Starbright Ink. I've seen so many professional and even beginner artist get a full dark shade with much less. Can i ask..I thought needle should stick out only about 2mm. I'm trying to teach myself by watching videos like yours. I'm from East Midlands derby so I know a pound coin is way more than 2mm I'm only asking cuz I'm hungry for knowledge many thanks.

New to tattooing , so do you actually prefer to use a grey washing kit ? Or do you just use one shading ink ?

Maybe I missed it, but what voltage are you using to shade and what is the easiest needle for it? 5RL?

Ryan H hey man, my voltage is between 10-12 volts but it will vary from machine to machine, depends what the motor inside the machine is rated at, and 5rl bugpin, so more like a 3rl

at 7:20 or so where you can see the skin throbbing looks so weird since its not capturing all of the movement due to frames and such. im not grossed out by gore and stuff usually, but for some reason the skin moving like that gives me the queezies.
