If your looking to get the GSTP filter don't! It is just Chinese made junk it started leaking after two days of owning it and the company doesn't want to do anything about it. Get Sinister Diesels coolant filter if you are looking to get a filter for your 6.0.
@@Redbeard_6.0h 15 degrees rules is only on flat ground going 65 rule. You can see up to 20 degrees difference and be okay, you don’t want to see it all the time though. 7.3 fan clutch helps keep that down imo
Everyone dogs on the 6.0 and their head/head gasket issues, but speaking from personal experience, the lly duramax and common rail Cummins really aren't any better. They may take a beating better than a 6.0, but if you really think about it any of the big brand diesels had issues in those years, and I'm a firm believer the addition of the egr's play a role in it
The EGR played a big part in cooling system failures because the cooling systems were undersized for the demand put on it. With the LLY duramax they used an LB7 generation radiator which was too small for the truck with EGR. If you look at an LBZ duramax truck the radiator is much bigger. Same goes for a 6.4L ford truck, the radiator is massive compared to a 7.3L or 6.0L ford.
Why not just change the radiator and oil cooler, then put modern coolant in it? This all seems foolish if you are not changing what you think is clogged. Seems like a band aid.
Always be careful removing the coolant cap it’s a pressurized system it’s supposed to build pressure and if there is pruessure that 180 degree water would mess you up
Replace the electric fan clutch with a mechanical 7.3L 97 hd viscus fan clutch. I pull full time and trust me it flatens the temp from 225+ to 198, to a steady 197°
I own a 7.3 and i put in a coolant filter bc i want more longevity. But even with that i was still gettin a lot of crap until i replaced my radiator. Which night and day difference
Correct! Replacing the radiator and the old cooler are the only good solutions here. This fix is a band aid at best. Modern coolant and removal of excess egr heat solves what was the original 6.0 problem from the factory.
Ford never installed a coolant filtration system on any of their trucks from the factory. Make sure you change that filter once a year. Also check the level when the engine is cold and top it off then. I installed a coolant filtration kit from sinister diesel on my ‘99 F-350 with the 7.3L about a month ago, very easy install.

Awsome vid, should get a bed cover.
Got all the cosmetic stuff coming in next week
mine averages 192 coolant and 195 oil temps which is spot on for a 6.0
I got the 205 thermostat so my deltas are a little bit more spread but that don’t hurt a thang.
@@mitchellgrawe2010 yeah as long as you are within 15 degrees it’s all good

@@mitchellgrawe2010 agreed, I’m a firm believer in that fan mod…people tend to complain about the noise but I never hear it

Ipr filters systems are the best inline off the oil cooler. It’s the only way to go

Those style coolant filters don’t do jack shit, just FYI. IPR Research is the only company that makes one that actually works.
You will only see 28psi out of the factory MAP sensor, upgrade to the 6.4 and it’ll read up to 100 psi

Love how the builds coming along I can tell you’re learning you didn’t know much when you first got the truck
yessir slowly but surely
Love the videos........please make them longer.
it needs a 4 inch not a 5 inch exhaust it will be way louder and why did you put a 5 inch on in the first place??? it needs a 4 inch
You are all balls out. I know you are spending all your money on your channel. Keep it up 👍
Need a 8 inch lift
Are you gonna buy 08 mirrors or are you leaving it super stock “sleeper” looking
mirrors coming in next week
Just a suggestion you should do new head lights

Isn't stock thermostat rating 186?
195 I think 🤔 I have a 205 degree thermostat though, international standards 205 thermo stat in ther motors. The 6.0 and the 7.3
NICE VID!!!
Thanks!
Do trans next
Go Non-vgt to keep that drive pressure down
