Do you cut the grey areas OFF of the printed patterns? They don't seem top be lining up & I can't figure out how to have no grey showing like in your video

I always left the gray part showing bc it never seems to line up otherwise. It always turned out perfect with it showing🤷🏻‍♀️

I like having some fabric overlapping/covering the zipper bc the zipper teeth is rough and the slider is a bit sharp against skin.

So when you cut the pattern you cut away the gray area??

The instructions state that no grey should be showing on the pattern yet when you laid out the pattern pieces for the zipper side you had grey showing. Which is correct.

Wow! 😮 I never noticed that before! Thank you for letting me know. Surprisingly, it still fit my boppy pillow perfectly. I’ve made this pattern numerous times and never noticed that. 😝

I just did some looking around and I found a few more tutorials with this pattern. They all used that pattern as I did. So I’m not sure...here is one other for reference:

I was just thinking the same thing about the gray shaded area showing on the pattern....of course I cut everything and taped it all together.

The zipper looked like it was too long. How did you see it shut with the zipper in the way?

You sew over the zipper like normal and then cut off the excess.

Yes the video is great and easy but for beginner sewers I suggest learning how to see the seams with basting stitch and do it correctly. Although my seams along the front of the zipper looked great following her directions, when you see the seams to attached both back and front pieces you have to skip over the zipper to prevent a jam. I got around it and made it work by doing a lot of hand sewing around the zipper and over it too.
