I love this! I'm using a Schecter Scorpion with EMGs 81/85 straight into a Marshall Mode Four. Saw a local band one time and they had to take a 15 minute break for the guitarist to troubleshoot his pedal board. Made me strive to find a rig with no nonsense. Let the amp do the work.

I have a Strat with an HSS Humbucker at the bridge, and 4th generation noiseless two single coils up top. Haven't really noticed too much of a difference when using the Humbucker, vs my Les Paul Tribute which has two Humbuckers 490 R/T. Point is you can now make a Strat sound pretty much however you like these days. I specked mine out from the Fender Mod Shop.

the one thing that i’ve learned is that when you hit that plateau of learning the best way to not get demotivated is to chase a tone, weather it be your favorite artists tone or jist make some weird tone, and honestly buying more guitars, and pedals and the things i wish i knew about, definitely look at nicer amps for a good tone.... also i was scared to buy more than one guitar cause i was at a flat spot on my playing, but honestly owning a squire strat (i really only use this for chords cause it’s not really the best but great for $300) and a MIM tele (personally i couldn’t rationalize buying an American one) and THE BEST GIUTAR IVE BOUGHT the acoustasonic jazz master, which lets you chase any sound you want:) i’m still not getting technical better but my tone is getting very good and it is different from guitar to guitar. honestly jist enjoy the ride:) also i love your videos

At low vols i find the Blackstar OD channel to be a little too fizzy. At room vols, I prefer clean channel with vol at 3 o'clock with the master way low - gives that light crunch better than the slightly synthetic sounding OD-1 voicing.

A tip for new players, like me, who can’t remember which pickup is turned on by which position of the selector switch on a les paul style guitar.
The up position is neck pickup, and when the switch is in that position, it is pointing to, or closer to, you the players neck! Same with the control knobs. The ones closest to your neck control the neck pickup.
This little trick helped me to never forget again which controls affect which pickups on the guitar.

That amp has a lot of "built in" amp profiles and effects, which hopefully makes it even easier for you to grab the right tone. I'm betting the tone knob makes it brighter if you turn clockwise and darker if you turn counter clockwise. It looks super cool, hope you enjoy it!

Hi Marty and Marty fans! I hope someone can help me. I have a Princeton Reverb, it only has one channel and a two band eq (treble and bass). It is a tube amp. I heard such good things about this and, but I’m not getting good results so far.
I see people talk about the edge of breakup and tube overdrive? I dont really understand what these terms mean? I mean I’ve read the descriptions of what it means, the harder you play the more distortion you get. But I just don’t really hear it or understand it in practice.
Has Marty done a video on this concept and or how to set the amp to achieve this nirvana of tone? If so please link it, if not please consider doing one Marty. Thanks.

i dont have an amp, and i dont plan on buying one since my appartment building is filled butthurt oldies, so ive been using revalver and bias fx 2, along with other amp emulations, and i swear i feel like my guitar produces alot of noise for a stratocaster, and yes i know strats pickups have alot of him to them, but the whole signal is dark, and noisy, and when i try to play with the tone knob a bit, after just putting it to 1, the noise just get brighter and more obvious, i cant even test it out on a real amp to see if my guitar is the problem, or the interface, or the software, i hate this
