Ingredients:
For chicken:
500 g chicken fillet (breast or thigh)
2 tbsp. olive oil
1 tsp. paprika
1 tsp. ground coriander
1 tsp. ground cumin
1 tsp. ground black pepper
1 tsp. salt
2 garlic cloves (chopped)
Juice of half a lemon
For the garlic sauce:
200 g Greek yogurt or sour cream
2-3 garlic cloves (chopped)
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1 tbsp. olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
To assemble the shawarma:
4-6 pita tortillas
Fresh vegetables (tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, lettuce)
Fresh herbs (parsley, cilantro)

Instructions:
Chicken Preparation:
- Marinade: In a large bowl, mix together olive oil, paprika, ground coriander, ground cumin, ground black pepper, salt, crushed garlic and lemon juice.
- Marinade: Add the chicken fillets to the marinade and mix well so that the meat is fully coated. Cover and leave to marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or preferably 2-3 hours.
- Cooking: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Fry the chicken until golden and fully cooked, about 6-8 minutes on each side. Then slice the chicken into thin strips.
- Preparing Garlic Sauce:
- Sauce: In a small bowl, combine Greek yogurt or sour cream, minced garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, salt and pepper. Mix well until smooth.
- Assembling the shawarma:
- Preparing the tortillas: Warm the pita tortillas in a frying pan or in the oven to make them soft and pliable.
- Stuffing: Place chicken pieces, fresh vegetables (chopped tomatoes, cucumbers, onions) and herbs on each flatbread.
- Sauce: Pour garlic sauce over the top.
