  • We're back! There's a pile of different ways you can target walleye right now, but a light hair jig tipped a shiner can absolutely save the day during spring cold-front conditions...or if you just want to catch a zillion walleyes even if the bite is good lol.
Drop a comment below and let me know what you think. 👊 Thx SO much for watching!

I upgraded my boat batteries to lithium last year and could NOT be more happy!
I went with Amped Outdoors' 36V 100Ah trolling motor lithium battery system (which is two 36V 50Ah LiFePO4 batteries in parallel). I was able to shave off roughly 140 pounds 😳 by running those 2 lithiums vs 3 lead or AGM batteries, and of course get some amazing run times:

Which also freed up an extra battery slot in my boat, so I was able to plug in this 130Ah beast (only weighs 31 lbs) to exclusively run all of my electronics - fer dayzzzz 🔋 - instead of running them off of my cranking battery:

Great video. I was trying for some Walleye the other day using a hair jig. No luck with that.
What are your thoughts on using a very small swivel snap when Walleye fishing? Thank you!!

I try to avoid it if at all possible in the super clear, zebra mussel infested waters around here. I do sometimes use a small #0 or #00 VMC Crankbait Snap on reaction baits where they don’t get a good look at it before eating. 👊 Thanks for watching!

What bait bucket was that for the shiners?

The smallest size (I believe it’s 7.5 quart) Engel Live Bait Cooler. Works great for a day of fishing with a couple dozen shiners, or then I’ll fill it with bedding and crawlers mid-summer.

I’ve never seen anyone use minnows on hair jigs.

I typically don’t, or well I don’t the rest of the year. But I love throwing light hair with a minnow in cold water or in the thick of a cold front. 👊 Thanks for watching.
