I find it very interesting how lyrics for some songs have been lifted and put into different songs, I almost want to hear what it would have sounded like if those lyrics remained in those songs.
As a song writer myself I actually do this all the time. If you’re struggling coming up with an idea for one particular song, it can be helpful to try ideas you left on the cutting room floor from other songs you’ve already worked on
I sort of like how the draft of At the Risk of Feeling Dumb mentioned how Tyler was also struggling. What a compassionate thing to do to check in on friends even when you’re not in the best headspace yourself. After all, the root of compassion literally means, “suffer with” or “suffer together”. Sometimes connecting with others can help both parties feel better!
The backslide lyrics have me in tears
Ok this is very random and has nothing to do with the digital remains but basically theres an easter egg in the backslide music video. If we remember when tyler stopped by the lemonade kid he traded a hamburger bun for lemonade even though the sign says "lemonade 75 cents". This may seem weird but its actually on purpose because not only does the sign say "lemonade 75 cents" but on the smaller sign it says "or 1 hamburger bun".
Why is no one talking about how Drag Path might be a song that is yet to come? I keep hearing everyone say it is a scrapped song. I would say there’s a good chance it’s one of the songs we are still going to hear. Maybe this song takes place after the encounter with Nico and Tyler is dragged to prison. Then Josh comes to save him!
Those scrapped backslide lyrics are literally next level. Almost just makes me sad they weren’t on the track lol

The phrase "drag path" is in the mailed Clancy letter, at 2:10 in the "I Am Clancy" official TOP video...anyone note that yet? Probably. Anyway, my point is that this has to be what I feel is the song after Paladin. I'm in the one-more-song camp, for the Final Battle, so I'm going on record to state that I think Drag Path WILL be part of this album cycle as the 14th song, and the end of the story.
Something interesing I found on the Digital Remains and not much people are talking about is the fact that the pages:
36 - 60
38 - 49
64 -102
Are repeated.
The only thing I could make sense of was the fact that if you subtract the largest number from each pair of pages you get: 11, 24, 38. (for example 60 - 36 = 24)
And if you subtract 24 from 38 and then add 11, you get 25.
Although, I definitely think that's stretching it too far.

As a songwriter, I would say most songs start darker in the original drafts. They come from fresh pain or feeling a lot of times. Over the course of songs taking their shape, they usually soften a bit to be more relatable and consumable to a broader audience. Not always, but usually. 😊

Wish you didn’t read lyrics that are already on the album. You should do an analysis on the cut content lyrics that didn’t make it to the album .
Idk I wrestled back and forth with that. Ultimately went with a read through of everything cause I enjoyed how everything was originally laid out and read with context of the scrapped lyrics
