This is one of many buildings for New Gen Hen, who will house 24,000 hens per building. The flock will have access to the outside through doors on each side of the building. Inside the building is a colony style cage-free environment with a center nest system, a slatted area on each side of the nest where the flock has access to fresh feed and water, as well as plenty of perching space. On each side of the slatted area is a wide litter aisle where the hens are able to scratch, forage, dust bathe and act out other natural behaviors.
The building is an all metal design with a smooth metal ceiling for efficient airflow and ventilation, and provides the ability to have the proper amount of insulation for this location. Sidewalls are PUR panels which are fast to install, and provide a tight fit and finish, as well as the ideal amount of insulation.
