Man, level 6 adversary getting completely scrubbed from existence, impressive. Now that I'm super accustomed to using events, it's so noticeable when they're off.
It's a very different game without events, much less variance and (imo) slightly harder to win. The event deck does so much, I really miss it sometimes when it's off.
Thanks a lot for doing this request! 😀 I don't dislike events but I think without them it is slightly harder. I struggle a lot with this match up, your games always look so easy😅 A little bit of luck with Quarantine and coastal explore. Nevertheless great to watch, please keep going with more videos!
Thanks for making the request! There's definitely a bit of survivorship bias in that I don't post (most of) the games that go south, so what ends up on the channel is at least a bit cleaner than my average game. I really like this matchup, though, there's often times when you have to just say "well, if this explores my Dahan are in trouble and I'm probably getting a city".
Hi Kalen and congrats for having some of the bests SI guides and videos here! I was wondering why don't you leave Events always on, specially when going on with the level 6 adversaries series. Using events makes the game feel way more complete. Moreover I think that switching on and off B&C and events strongly damage consistency among the level 6 adversaries playlist. Please make more videos I'm getting addicted! 😁
In this particular case, it's because someone requested the matchup without events but didn't specify B&C being on or off. In general, for higher difficulty games, my default is to leave everything turned on, but I want the flexibility to deviate from that if I think it's more fun or challenging. To that end, I should probably express that I think events/B&C make the game slightly easier overall, but the exact impact is going to vary by matchup. If there's ever a video that you really want to see with events on when I've left them off (or other settings), let me know and I'll try to repeat the run with different settings! (For basic strategy videos, I want events off because I want to focus on what the spirit can do without going into how the event deck impacts things, which I consider more intermediate strategy)
