I think for the thick cream, application is key. Instead of applying to damp hair, it would probably work better on saturated hair just adding as little as possible and working it in from ends up to roots.
I have type 4 hair and pattern works great for me. Different strokes for different folks. Curl smith does nothing for me. It’s not bad but it isn’t great. Pattern worked great I suggest viewers try it out for themselves
I agree. I have thick coarse hair and I need thick products. I absolutely loved the gel and cream, I just can’t stand the smell. If I can get around that. These will be the only products I use.
Similar experience I have 3c/4a, and some 4b curls and I really like the curl mix shampoo and conditioners but the WNG set only ever gave me the hold I'm looking for when I used it paired w/ a Deva Curl Gel. I haven't had the issues w/ DC that other people have complained of but of course I don't want to be dependent on 1 brand and used the controversy w/ DC as an opportunity to branch out even more in my curl product search. So far the Pattern strong hold gel has been the best results for a styler

my hair loved the styling cream.. probably just depends on your porosity. i did a wash n go doing the curl gel yesterday and my hair loves itttt so much shine & definition & NO CRUNCH
When she cut back to later in the day I thought she was showing like day 5 hair 😳😳😳😱

I’m having the same issue with the hair mist bottle, and I was definitely convinced I just had a clumsy bottle! 😕 Such a shame... But honestly, I quite like the products with my hair so far. Always worth reviewing after several washes & attempts... So maybe I should check back after I use them a few more times. Great video btw 🤎✨
I'd like to see how Afro Love and Bomba Curls works on your hair. They are two Dominican product lines that are new to the scene. I haven't purchased Pattern because I figured it was folks with 3a/3b hair like Tracee. Thanks for the review. Saving my coins!

Styling cream as a leave in, a little goes a long way (not like a butter), then either the curl gel for a medium hold or the strong hold gel for a firm flexible hold...works great....love it💛💛💛🖤🖤🖤💛💛💛
Thank you for this review. Your hair is beautiful. I purchase the travel size products. Which were the shampoo, conditioner, leave-in conditioner, curl gel. I have 4a hair so far my hair is pretty , but it's still wet. I will know how my hair really took to the product once its dry. I too love for my hair to have complete curl definition. My normal hair products are Camille Rose, I was just trying Patterns, because I love Tracy.
I had the very same experience before watching your review -wanted to love it but it’s certainly a one time purchase for me.
OMG, same thing happened to me regarding the mist! I wrote to Patten and they asked me to film a video of my struggles because apparently there's a technique to using the bottle - basically shaking it up to help get the nozzle to spray again. Girl that barely helped 😂 I did what some others mentioned - switching out the bottle entirely or taking a different spray bottle nozzle that fits on the Patten bottle and using it that way. Still waiting to see what they plan to do with my video... keep you posted!

@@beverlycharles6534 Yes! They sent me a new spray nozzle. I replaced the old one with the new one and it works better. Not sure how long it will last 🤔

I used it with wetline and it was the longest wash n go I ever had. It stayed defined and soft. It felt super moisturized. I absolutely love it.

I also bought the mist and my bottle did the same thing. That part was annoying, but I still like the line. I will just pour it into a different spray bottle so that I can use it.
I got a trial size bundle and used the leave-in, styling cream and curl gel on my 3c mainly low porosity hair (bang area is 4a high porosity). My curls came out so great. I honestly didn't think the products would work because my hair is extremely picky. Every where I went I got compliments. The one drawback for me outside of the musky smell, is there wasn't any hold and my hair is almost waist length when curly and dry. If I want my hair to last a week without adding more product. I need more hold. At day 4 a few curls started frizzing while I was out of town. I'm ordering the full size products and a trial of the strong hold gel. It's literally been at leat two years since I've been able to wear a wash and go instead of getting horrible results and needing to do a two braid braidout or twists. I pray it keeps working.
I bought teh travel size of Pattern Beauty's curl gel and immediately didn't like it since it seemed too light for my 3c/4a hair. Today, I tried the travel size of their leave in conditioner and the travel size of their strong hold gel for a braid out, so I'll see in a couple days I'll see if I really love them. I love their styling cream!
Thank you for this in depth review. I have fine curly hair and it dried my hair out so bad. I thought I applied it wrong. Tried the products again it did the same thing.
I'm so glad that I'm not the only one who had a subpar experience with the Pattern stylers. I keep trying different wash-and-go's with the stylers while incorporating other products that I KNOW work and I still end up with frizz. I had the same issue with the spray. I tried pouring the liquid into my own mister bottle and it ended up clogging. I ended up having to buy a new mister. As a Tracee Ellis Ross stan, I'm so disappointed!

I didn’t like the mister/refresher not moisturizing for me. I haven’t tried the cream yet. My next wash and go I will be trying out the gel or cream. I got the pick and you are right, it’s the Best of the Best. I absolutely love it!!!!! They make the best tools. Judging from what I’ve seen on UA-cam the looser curlies may like these products better. Happycurlhappygirl used the styling cream or the curl gel, I can’t remember which but she used it with Wetline gel her hair was gorgeous. I tried them both in my hand it paired very well together. We’ll see girl, we’ll see. 💛🖤

Which products would you recommend for deep conditoners, leave-ins, and an actual good gel please? 😊 I just recently found your videos and you have the same hair type as mine! Been trying to find someone that has 3c/4a curls lol so happy I found you! I tried the strong hold gel on my wash day yesterday and my hair was just frizzy after a few hours smh. Im trying out curlsmith, and I think they work better on my hair. I think my hair needs to be repaired and mositurize more, especially in the summer.
I love the styling cream for my hair.. I have very think curly hair.. it was perfect.. the cream and gel is my go to now
Hi Alyssa, I'd love to see you try the super thick leave-in AND use the spray (in your own spray bottle) and then use the gels. I bet that heavy cream is the moisture you're missing. Maybe another try with less cream coupled (tripled) with the gels would be more successful. It's worth it for the amount I'm sure you had to spend!

I did not like how the products felt on my hair. It could be because I’m accustomed to more botanical products. My hair felt very dry after using the strong hold gel. The refresher is probably the only thing that I really enjoyed.

The strong hold gel reminds me of the Style Factor Edge Booster Gel..... Super thick but used alone it is VERY Drying.. Her products cost entirely too much to have mediocre results...

It really is..... sad how tighter curls are always excluded. There’s a major gap in the market for those of us with coils. You would think ONE of these brands would hop in with quality products to take our coins.
yes I have 3c hair and it works perfectly for me and I'm sad to see people who have 4c hair use this product and have no luck with it
I just ordered the moisturizer so I am hoping it works on my 3c/4a hair. I really do want to LOVE her products and she has some good ones but it seems more misses than hits. **insert sad face.

I had no trouble with the mist bottle I just used mine about 20 min ago for the first time. When I first used it it did take a sec for the mist to come out but after I had no problems :)

I knew when you added two gels on top of each other that would not work. I’m a fan of the strong gel. It works really good when you follow the instructions.
Humble2 Grow well I’ve mixed a lot of other gels (other brands) and that works great for my curls! I did try the strong hold gel on it’s own the first time I used them but it just doesn’t do it for my curls. glad it works for you tho!
I would appreciate folks sharing how they are using the pattern products on a short, close to the head cut.

Would that give it a fair chance to see if that may eliminate the frizz? Hopefully the CS cream didn't contribute to the frizz. Also, could you contact PB to send you another hydration spray in functional packaging? Your $140+ payment of that PB says it should work!! Lol☺️
Dannie H. curlsmith works very well in my hair so I know that’s not what caused the frizz. I did use the styling cream with the strong hold gel the first time I tried them out and same thing... just doesn’t work for me! 🙃

This is why climate and ingredients matter! Both products have glycerin in the first few ingredients so I didn't get either gel. Ingredients matter.
I’m instead of the styling cream use the styling custard. It makes my curls nice and soft.

It looks like day 3 hair on day one if you're going for sonetimes. Your hair came out cute but no one wants to be re-doing there hair the next day. FYI- Glamtwinz had a problem with the pump too. Thanks for reviewing.
So do you think I can do a twist out. My hair is a lot like yours, I ordered the whole line at once and not sure it if is working the way I hoped. The goal is not to have to do my hair every day. That did not happen. Sad!!!!!
Hi Alyssa! I got the same bundle, tried all of the products many different ways and I hate to say it, but I hate all the products. My hair got frizzy also and I am a 3b girl. I am trying to get a refund. Oh and my refresher was messed up too. Back to the drawing board Tracy! P.S. Question; why did you stop using the denman brush?

I had the same problems- I don’t think it’s a wash and go oriented collection. But… I also didn’t like it on my braid outs lol. There aren’t a lot of influencer reviews either which makes me wonder.
Lol I know I’m late but I had the same problem with the bottle! I emailed them and they asked for a video of me using it. Then they sent me a new spray top and the same thing happened! I think when you have a thicker spray you need a nozzle that you pull on... not push down. Also very disappointed in the amount of coconut oil used in every product! My scalp was screaming 😣

I liked the shampoo and leave in conditioner, the rest of the line not so much. But I generally don't use as many products on my hair and they should tone down the fragrance just to strong for me, especially the hair oil the whole line gives me the vibe of smelling incense. They should really consider more than one fragrance if their going to continue with this one, it could be a turn off.
PLEASE PLEASE USE PATTERN ON SOAK AND WET HAIR. It works a whole lot better. It’s not dry damp hair products. It instructs you to use it on super wet hair. I’m 3c/4a and the products did not sit on my hair when applied to soak/wet hair. 🤷🏾♀️
Same thing happened to me with the packaging on the mist. I love the product, but the packaging... The pump.. Sis... That ain't it. The stronghold gel did not work for me at all. My hair felt like straw. I'm interested in trying the other gel after your review though.
