Good Will Hunting...one of the greatest movies ever.
Alex Tomczuk facts
*Of course* that’s your contention, you’re a first year grad student!
i think looking back he should have won for good will i like jack but he playsd it too safe 😣
Yeeeeah 💜 I'm agree with you 😍😍
Overrated and lame.
I just saw Good Will Hunting and I regret not seeing it earlier.Honestly one of the greatest films I have ever seen. The acting was so good Robin Williams performance and all the cast was amazing to watch.
@TheWhiteWhale yeah but those movies are good too.
@TheWhiteWhale Haha, so do you have any recommandation of this type of movies?
I just watched it. It was great! I expected to like it a lot and I did. :)

Love that movie!!! Great acting and story
I have a friend who met Matt Damon on several occasions by accident- she was traveling for business and her company placed her in the same hotel where Damon was staying. She kept running into him at random in the lobby, the bar etc. One day she was waiting for the elevator, the doors open, and Matt Damon is standing there, and she says to him, "you've got to stop doing this" and he laughed. We have a running joke about Matt Damon stalking her. She said he's really nice, though.
lucky friend!
*shrug* don't care if you think it's real or not. Ain't even my story...I don't get anything out of it either way.
+Oz You'd think that if OP made the encounter out of whole cloth they'd make it a little more exciting than "she ran into him in a hotel a few times."
+Oz I, um, haven't done any of that?
+Oz I'm not even Muslim, though this would be stupid even if I were.
I'm still annoyed Good Will Hunting didn't win best picture, and I wasn't even born then
But do you have a born identity?
Ruby Hagrid how I feel about inception
That was the year of Titanic, no other picture was going to win
Eric Emilio Janke I know, but what a pity that two of the most iconic movies of that time came out the same year? Like wasn't there a year that a Lord of the Rings movie won?
homiedclown lmao yes I do
I never really realized that Matt Damon looks like he's grown into his dad-ness.
I would love it if the impractical jokers mocked matt Damon.
Fyoysl DILF!!!
Ugh,, yuck. Hi teenager
Matt Damon looking more like his own dad as he gets older.
And a great dad he has turned out to be. Life changes dramatically once you become a parent.
About 15 years ago when I was a kid, I was sitting on a plane while everyone was boarding. I was wearing a Yankee hat. From out of nowhere, someone said to me: "Yankees suck." I looked up, and it was Matt Damon, in full denim, wearing a Red Sox hat. We laughed. I couldn't believe it. Later while in flight, the movie that was showing was Ocean's 12. I went up to first class and asked Matt if he would sign my plane program over the Ocean's 12 blurb. He asked my name and happily signed. That program was pinned to my refrigerator until I went to college. He couldn't have been a nicer guy. We were on our way back from Miami and I later found out that he had just proposed to his girlfriend who is still his wife.
But did you watch the entire movie?
Wow! You are so lucky!👀❤️
Epic story...
How the hell did you sneak into first class?
@@thomthom6268 where does it say that?
If you remember Good Will Hunting only for its cussing,
then you're not watching it right..
Well said.
Its not your fault
赤Red
you stop that
I was thinking the exact same thing. I didn't even realize there was a lot of F-bombs until I saw the title of this video.
IKR! Only after reading the title I realized that the movie had curse words in it!
The Park bench scene in Good Will Hunting is the best monologue I’ve ever seen in a film. Damon’s scripts and Robin Williams did that scene so beautifully!
You mean the Pawk Bench
fun fact I just learned from an interview with matt and ben! it's the only scene from the first 40 pages matt wrote as a student that made it through all the rewrites, pretty much verbatim. amazing.
Who let Damon out of Kimmel's basement?
Quest Kimmel gives him one day a year where Matt can go out to another talk show. He's very generous.
Vislow then it's back to the cold hard green room.
Who let you out of the psych ward??
Crescent City Kid 9
ha ha!!!
The Will Hunting character did cuss a lot. He had a rough life, and a hard childhood, was abused by his stepfather, and so cussing a lot made him feel tough , to mask his vulnerabilities. However, his therapist, played by Robin Williams, did not normally use that kind of language, but copied Will’s language during the sessions. Most people theorize that it was to prove to Will that he did not feel superior to him.
I remember when I had a therapist for a little bit that he cursed a lot too. Didn't feel natural at all, totally felt like he was rubbing it in lol
@@isaacster5027 yes, I think most people would not respond well to a therapist who talks like that. This particular therapist just thought it was the only way he could communicate with this particular patient.
@@nancyhey1012 yea, tbf tho I curse a decent amount and he picked up on that but it just felt real unnatural when he did
It’s more of a cultural norm for blue collar Boston. Robin Williams character probably grew up swearing like Will, but removed it through college, etc. He just turned it back on for Will
Will swears like a sailor because the last thing you want to sound like in a rough neighborhood in Southie is a boy genius.
“I’m giving the beeper guy some work” “well we’re live”
“Oh well, sorry” 😂😂😂😂
They beeped it here though ...

Brilliant movie, one of my top 5 ever, Tombstone being my favorite of all time, only because Doc Holiday is the best rendition ever. Great job Matt and Ben and Robin, amazing film
I became a fan of Damon's after seeing The Rainmaker (excellent movie). I later went back and watched another excellent movie where he has more of a minor role, School Ties, also starring the incredible Brendan Fraser. I saw Good Will Hunting in the theater and it immediately shot to the top of my movie list and it's still up there with Trainspotting, tied for first.

Moments like 5:07 remind me how talented The Roots are with their flawless interseaming of music and comedic timing. On Stephen's (and others') show, the bands tend to come in a few moments too late and it really pulls me out of the moment. Stephen's band isn't bad by any means, but it just goes to show how incredible The Roots are!
True but The Roots we’re already one of the greatest bands on the planet by the time Jimmy Fallon signed them so that’s hard to compete with
I took my son, who was around 10 at the time, to see Good Will Hunting, to show him how anyone can achieve by using their gifts. When we came out, i asked what he thought. His only remark was, "There was a lot of swearing in that movie. I don't think that was appropriate."
He obviously had more brains than you. Who the fuck takes their ten-year-old to see *any* R-rated film?!? Certainly not a responsible one, that's for damned sure.
an adult took me to see The Exorcist @6 and Carrie @9. my head didn't explode

I will never understood the beeping of swearwords thing in US TV. Truly bizarre.
I know, right? We elect a pussy grabber president but can't say fuck on TV.
Stephen explained it a while back (on another episode). It’s CBS; must be their rules.
They do that occasionally on this show and I think it's a funny smartass censorer(?) and Colbert, himself, who thinks the rules are dumb too, so they get a little slick via some sort of FCC loophole. Technically it's safe, because the beep happens DURING the word. LOL
Maybe it's because ass also means donkey?

John Battiste and band are great. They put in a bunch of jazz references into their intros and even little incidental musical moments. This intro was some Coltrane tune that I can't recall the name of. And in some other interview I heard Battiste do a Thelonious Monk quote from the melody of Trinkle-Tinkle. I'm not much of a jazz nerd, but it's cool to see them dig into American music culture like that.
The band's intro was a rendition of "Passion Dance" by McCoy Tyner. Such an inspiring jazz pianist for me.

I'll be completely honest. Never really was a Damon fan, but after that Roy Moore joke I certainly am now, well played sir, well played.
what sort of lunatic are you to not be a fan of his?
For me a lot of it has to do with how I see them appear not acting. I'd give credit to where credits due, I loved Good Will Hunting, mostly for Robin Williams, but I won't take away that I think Damon was good in that movie. But in almost any/everything I've seen him in publicly I think he's always come across as like a High school Jock who hasn't grown up. But, this interview, and that joke, certainly made me realize he's more aware of the world, and not so self-absorbed as I had initially thought.
He grew up neighbors to Howard Zinn and was the voice for the audiobook version of A People's History of the US.
could care less if you were a fan of his or not. Just shows how easily swayed you are. Good thing you have principals. This..this is why you are a fan of his now. 40 years from now they will play one of his older movies on TV and you will say to your friends in your moms basement "i like that bourne guy ha! he ripped on roy moore that one time. hes good people!". Yeah.. brilliant. Thanks again for being honest with us
Feels like he’s soooo nervous after the interview Stephen did with his buddy Afleck.
SoWonderfullyWeird idiot, these interviews are scripted before hand, there is no ambush, plus they both didnt do anything wrong.
Idiots.
BTW interviews are not scripted in advance. They go over what they are going to talk about overall, but they don't go word for word.
popeye697 they are scripted to the point that they have set topics and stories that the guest want to tell. Hosts do not ask heavy hitting questions without preapproval because then one of two things will happen, 1) they will have less guests agreeing to come on the show 2) the hosts bosses will be pissed because they defamed a guest and whatever project that guest is promoting that the boss/company is likely invested in.
Ben Afflect (and his team) 100% ASKED Stephen to question him on that topic because Ben needed to get ahead of the story and apologize publicly. Matt was not at all nervous about that, he had no need to be.
