How about a beaver city with tiers, you could work waterfalls into it as well, kinda like a beaver minas tirith
If you turn off most of the breeding pods your food problem should level out! I imagine you probably don't need like 250 beavers?
Can you bury the mine with a tunnel leading out towards the front of the wall so that it acts like a genuine mineshaft?
hey Skye, when you done with this map (so in 2 years^^) maybe "the White-paws"-mod is something for you. spottet it recently and it lock extrem complex and change and ad to the mechanics of the game, maybe the right thing to keep you gears grinding with new stuff you have to consider an more stuff to fill the map. (like Building that are watertight, so they work as dams and housing)
@@Redeyes0815 that mod is insane. The amount of work that it takes to do even basic things is crazy
You could always make the mine look like an open quarry with terraces leading down to it (and you could place various industrial buildings and storage around it on the terraces) :)

Came to post, a spiraling pit mine through the terraced terrain, with the industrial area on its rim, like the Mir diamond mine in Siberia.
Was about to suggest a similar idea!

If the right side makes the power, then the left side should use it. Dirt, planks, gears, extract, science, bots. All interrupted by a massive canyon for the mine, like a giant bite has been taken out of it, or it's been eroded away.
I'd really like to see a massive mega-apartment-style housing section for the beavers, fits the iron teeth quite well.
I would quite like seeing the rest of the map covered with trees enventually, make it look like an isolated civilisation in the middle of a forrest. Like a temperate version of the Amazon with a network of rivers fed by that glorious filtration system
Yes, dynamite a block or two below the cascade and it will look pretty green in the dry season. 🙂

A question: Will the fountain be filled with bad water if placed in bad water stream?
If yes, a bad waterfall with fountains on top would look great as a mountain monument on that "spring" in the middle of the map.
Also if you place all industry on the terraces it would look so good. Then you can create a "metal district" on the mine.
The little island in the middle of the waterfalls would look amazing with some trees or plants!
Hey Skye, another idea for getting around the mine could be to make the left bank a square on and then have it step back per level so that it quarter-circles off. That way you might miss the mine and possibly also don't have to destroy your farms.

Things are slowly coming together on that new terraced wingfront, Skye. I can't wait to see the final product. As for the mine, why not make it like an open quarry, with concentric rings around the mine itself? That could make it look as though they discovered a metal deposit while building that wing and instead of cancelling their project, they simply dug down to the deposit, then built around the resulting quarry.
I'd love to see a MEGA... amusement park for your beavers. All beavers need to be pleasured!

For the mine that is in the way, if possible build over it. Cover it up somehow and have a mostly hidden staircase going to it. Not sure that is possible.
You could use *Large Metal Platforms,* which have a 5×5 size.

Hi skye, a stepped water reservoir, with the shape of the power plant, would also look nice. You could constantly pump water in(during wet season) and out.

how about you make a water reservoir in the corner and build like a small island out of the rockformation with trees and berry bushes. just a thought for your mind.
That corner could be blasted down leaving the islands so it's a bit of a hidden reservoir with beaver retreats on the islands. Terraced farming would be pretty cool to see on the side
given the terraces and wheels, i vote we call this "the stadium" with the lower region being devided into homebase, midfield, and outfield, with the big resovoir resembling a baseball path. traveling the whole map.
outfield could be mostly aquatic farming, and general farming, given the water surplus and sheer size. midfield could be factory stuff and mining, given badwater sources, while the terraces could be forestry or some crop, like wheat.
homebase could be general, and water maintenance, bots, not to mention the wheels and falls themselves.

mega reservoir on opposite corner of the map as the pump station, terraces around the rest of the border for all the various farming, industry surrounding that and beaver city in the middle. super long term goals for ya haha
IDEA! Terraform around the mine so that it look like the beavers dug from the top of the structure all the way down to where the mine is. Maybe have excavators around it on 2 or 3 sides so it looks like a massive industrial undertaking they've been at for many years and years. Sort of like a pit dug down in terrace levels to get to the precious metal below.

Ever thought about making max-height luxury hotels w/ barracks, mud baths, breeding pods, food supply, etc? It would be cool to have timberborn “Skye-scrapers”
About 7 minutes in as you're deciding to put the first new control tower in I had the thought that for the more far flung bot locations, you could stick and engine down and then attach some charging stations to them in order to keep the bots running well at that distance without having to run power lines all over the map.
Also, you can in the future, hang your dirt excavators off the edge of a cliff. So if you wanted the dirt production up on top of the terrace, you could have had it hanging off the face and then digging down to the regular ground level, which would have produced dirt up to the top of the terrace for use on making the terraces.
Edit: Aaand that's what I get for not watching all the way through before running my mouth. Well played sir, well played.
Use the metal scaffold things to cover the mine and industry
You could do a tight spiral staircase down into the mine so it resembles the Mir Mine in Siberia. Then you can even set up the fences like you did in the last series (to make sure no beavers fall in.)
You know what fits under a terraforming station?
A large industrial pile!
I think you should turn that entire corner into a more natural looking waterfall district. Round the sharp corner off a bit, then make a series of small resevoirs that feed into each other with more small waterfalls, interspersed with little islands every so often. You could store a decent amount of water, make it all look pretty, and even have a small series of islands inhabited by beavers surrounded by all the wild rapids.
You can hide the mine behind the terraces, access it with a spiral staircase, you can use the ladder mod to make it cleaner, that is one of the most popular mods, and is made by the same guy who makes the mod api, so it gets updated right after the api, then cover the hole with a tree farm in the terraces below and in the terrace above the hole the mining town.
I’ve mentioned this before but I think it’ll be so cool! …
…If you used the bad water from the water wheels to dynamite a giant maze of channels! To create a wasteland area :) where it has metal fences and bridges to get around :) and the colony over there has to live high above on platforms away from the toxic waste!!

It was really great to see you overcome your designer block! Also, I can't express how relieved I was that you realized you could overhang your excavators. I was very stressed for a little bit there! LOL. I'm excited to see what you come up with!
making the outcrop look a bit like Victoria Falls would be cool, if possible.
7:50 I think a good way to deal with the mine would be to make a strip mine effect. Like you did with the excavators in the last map - that looked amazing. A small hole around the mine wouldn't work, it would just look weird. Therefore, go big.
For some reason the water feature for the clean I feel as though it should look like Niagara falls
Maybe the new terraces could be waterfalling teraced underwater farms?
I haven't finished watching yet but I think a cool idea to build would be a separate district for sick beavers with all the food, all of the braziers, statues etc. some kind of beaver heaven

Part 1... I would put a shallow reservoir at the waterfalls and have the irregular drop off so it looks more like a natural surface. Part 2... I would move all the industry to the terrace to free up that area for farming
‘The Terraces’ sound like the beaver-quivalent of ‘The Projects’ from The Wire!
Turn some of those bad water sources into water features like a pyramid with water flowing down all sides, fountains, etc.
That bad water source (on top of the hill/mountain) you just capped, why not make it into a volcano with red lava (badwater) flowing down from it
Reckon build a monument on the natural rock then have a bridge across to a new little viewing platform plateau right in the corner under all the waterfalls with just a few benches for the beavers to come marvel and wet their fur 💦 Keep it oh naturale cascades
I like the idea of farms and forest up there.
I was going to say the second wing of terraces should be covered with wind mills to mirror the water wheels, but then I remembered that iron teeth don't have wind mills.

I'm really early in the video, so apologies if this comes up later, but what's the feasibility of hollow terraces over the industrial district? Like building up the front with terrain, but putting a bunch of those Iron Teeth metal platforms behind
Looking at your terraces you might want to consider running your power underground, one space below, so you're not limiting your buildable space and maybe run water through the power trenches. Just a suggestion
I know the struggle with the symetry quiet well - my inner Monk wont shut up until the things I build are symmetric and pleasent to look at. Regarding the mine - why not build a small canyon to exess it. Sure, it is a gap in the whole structure, but I think it will add a nice feature, if it isn´t to large.

since this faction aren't really farmers, maybe investigate an interesting hydroponics design paired with your water reclamation system - I'd also be interested to see what you might come up with for a high-rise accommodation design for this faction

for new terraces, why not use 2 step levels. Then could be wider providing room for industrial or residential usage.
I think you should go with your ide about the farms and perhaps diffrent trees on top of the new side

Bring the Filtration System 3 Tiles away from the Map Border and have a Raservior behind it with Bad Water. Should be Done in Minutes ;)
Your new floodgates will flood that bottom area as the water coming through the dams upstream is going to keep going.
The lake where the two types of water meet at the bottom of the map could be turned into a Yin & yang pool
what about a massive farming and food production complex in a similar terrace along the other side with a small reservoir at the end for local consumption
I think it would look nice to “naturalise” the ends of the terraces by add crags and trees.

Setup some new farms on the existing terrace, but have them look industrial with control towers and power for the bots.
don't fill till the edge of the map ... start braking it up near the mine so it looks more natural
Still think you should have a small water way through the middle, like a stream just to make it green.
At the waterfalls make terasses like Pamukale in Turkey, make the Mine entrance like Petra in Jordan, rest of the map like an Maya inspired area, like Palenque with some Asian rice aquatic farms. Those are always made on ground lvl which is boring.
Skye, you could remove some of the hills where the damn is, and make it into a mini reservoir.
i was kinda hoping you wouldn't make a terrace all the way down to the corner. you could make it terrace down to ground level from the original structure but you've already built it out. I see the same issue with the terrace as with the previous sturcture because it's still imposing and higher than most of the city. instead of working on that part why not work on rerouting the rivers and building your city center in the middle of the map.
i love to see when you build freehanded. I startet a similar projekt on a medium map, Biiig mistake

Coulda just done the same thing by digging a similar size trench and putting in alternating flood gates so duting the bad tides it goes to an alternate path

100+ hours a week .. it's literally every waking hour minus meal time and the occasional film :)

I don't think you should perfectly mirror the terrace but simply round it off in a 1/4 circle before you reach the mine... symmetry is good - however it is not always eye-candy (take my beautiful ex for example... lol)
