you probably wont remember my comment but in January, I told you I had just had to cancel all my cycle events for this year due to a minor heart issue and you replied saying it is often darkest just before the dawn. Well, after 4.5 months of keeping my heart rate down to allow things to recover, I am back to training (and very unfit). But I'm having a great time catching up with everything you have done since Jan, (I haven;t watched UA-cam since my diagnosis as usually watch it whilst indoor cycling). A massive well done on your fitness improvements since Jan, for your Zwift wins, for your Vent Top effort and your London to Brighton ride...and esp for getting up Ditchling Beacon. My goal is to start to build my fitness again and maybe even one day share a race with you in Zwift 😀 Keep up the inspirational training and videos - they really do make a difference to your subscribers
I do remember the comment Zebeddy. I'm pleased to hear that youre back on the bike. 💪 People like you are huge motivation for me to keep making vids. Thank you and welldone. 🙏🙌
I used to run regularly, mostly indoors on a treadmill in the gym at my office. But I lost access to that gym along with my job, 6 years ago. Anyways, I've gone running the odd time since then, but nothing for a couple years. Went out and did 5.5km on Saturday, mostly running. My reduced weight and improved aerobic fitness definitely helped. But I couldn't believe how sore my quads were for a couple days afterwards. I figured it would be my feet, ankles, calves, or hips. But no, the quads that I've been working out on the bike for the last couple years. Planning to do it again this weekend, hopefully without so much soreness afterwards this time.
Well done, Ryan. I saw your video last year, which put this run on my radar, so I ran it this year and loved every minute of it. Shame I didn't see you or I would have said hello. Love following the journey you are on...keep going...you are an inspiration!!
I cycled every day for years and thought I was very fit, tried a half marathon with minimal training. How wrong I was, completely different muscle group and fitness
It’s not so much the fitness that makes marathons as hard as they are. It’s your entire bodyweight crashing down through one individual foot at a time over and over again, 50,000 times that makes it a challenge 🤣.
Ahhh mate that’s a brilliant video! Reminds me of the one and only ultra I did, starting from near where you finished in Richmond. Like you, I didn’t really train for it and suffered 😂 Chapeau sir!
The fact you only trained Zwift for this 55k, 8+ hour run blows my mind Ryan! 🤯 it was great to see some of your subscribers, you can tell their genuinely pleased to meet you! This is all very inspiring stuff mate!
While you were talking about how they needed more water canisters, you showed a brief clip of yourself from last year at this event. Wow, you have lost a lot of weight since then! Well done, Ryan! Absolutely crushing it. Your time improvement is testament to it.
It’s a big deal doing something like that with no training but especially if you weren’t feeling it at all. Great job, you’re starting to make it look easy… even the falling over bits!
You're so famous, Ryan! lol It's awesome. Well done for taking all that time off last year's. I know it was much hotter last year, but that's still a huge improvement, and to be making that big an improvement so far into your fitness game is amazing.
14:21 Doing yoga 🧘 will greatly improve your balance and flexibility. It’s the alternative training I have found most helpful for cycling. 🚴. You can get more aero and more comfortable on the bike too as an added bonus.
On the bike you push down. Running you kick backwards. To put it simply. That’s totally different muscles. Another thing is you haven’t really done any zone 2 training either. So your fitness is probably way above average, but you lack a ton of specifics for this event.
Comedy gold that fall, straight after the comment 😂. If only Jeremy Beadle / You've Been Framed was still around for £250 🙊. Serious note amazing mental ability, how is the body 1 or 2 days after from not training those muscles for 6 months?
If only Zwift could focus on their running side of the program as they do with cycling. You'd have a good excuse to get a treadmill and cross train 😉 Amazing fun run though.
Did Ryan do this with no training? LOL. You'll be telling us next that you're not even going out out! Given the amount of female fans you're now accruing, does Mrs Condon need to start getting worried? Me, Jealous? Oh yeah. Another great vid with some laugh out moments/lines. And you ran past my old house. Brilliant!

@@ryancraig2795 it's definitely a different vibe to cycling. I love running and miss it when I'm not.

Thanks! It's a great route. One of my fav events.

Loving the zwift jumper 😃. Another great video and event smashed.
Great effort, great endurance, nice improvement on your time from last year. That's about 5 times as far as I've ever run in one go 😂😮
Impressed by your achievement! Hope to bump into you again in a future race (met you just after your fall)! Cheers Ken
@@haraldsenb perfect time to meet. 😅 Nice to meet you. 🙌
You dont mess about do you Ryan! not gonna lie I had to laugh when you fell over whilst paying attention to not falling over, fair play to you mate
Thanks Alec. I do like a trip hazard. 😅

There is a great pub by the start, the fish & chips are amazing!

Cheers Lee. I'd like to be closer to the 7 hour mark but all things considered, I'm happy. 100k next week should be fun.
Well done Ryan. 26minutes off is a massive achievement, I’d struggle doing a mile. Great video 👍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Wow, that is some effort! 👍💪
The best is to do both. Get the aerobic benefit of the cycling but the specific training benefits from the running

This is why triathlon competitors are the fittest people you'll meet, it's crazy the difference in activities

speeding past me? 😅

Great effort to run that distance with no running training. Up the jolly old Fan tomorrow? You've definitely got the endurance for it.
I'm looking forward to it.
Hope you didn’t hurt yourself in the tumble but my god it was perfect timing!😂

Unfortunately my male to female viewer ratio is heavily weighted to the male side. 😅
it is definitively not. I did 10'000 km a Year on the bike but after running 10 km i was dead. other muscels and much more load for the muscels.
Is Claire single 😆❤?
You should start a running vlog to find out.
I prefer cycling, running is so boring.
@@jeffcreed365 you're doing it wrong then. 👆
Depends on where you run.
