I had broke my foot and couldn't check my hive. So when I went out yesterday, I opened up the hive and there was a new queen with a bunch of queen cells. Colony is so strong. But I was so surprised.
I done it a couple times I found one Hive in a stump and I went back the following spring and I put a box on top of the stump came back 3 weeks later and had bees and there was still bees in the stump stump
What’s your Apiary bloodlines? Mostly Carnis? I’m in Wisconsin have the same weather as you pretty much, I have carni & Coy Russians from the Russian breeding program. Just curious what guys are using in Michigan.
Those Hive Alive patties are Global patties infused with Hive Alive. The Global patties were ranked by Randy Oliver as the best of all he tested in 2020. I’d really like to see him do that testing again with the improved patties. I’m not sure if they were available during his testing.
Gardner always has queens i have 100 shipped tomorrow... that's definitely going to cost you honey why I went with the mated for 28.00 honey will more than pay for her ... Using cells thou is the way to go gives you nice window for oav treatment...i normally slip them nucs a strip of apivar but oav treatment way cheaper ... can't make honey you make bees ... this is a buisness not a hobby i keep telling myself guess I just love so much definitely life changing...been a lot work lately.not so much fun .. pickup 300 lb of bulk bees Tuesday going to fire these new yards right up... Going push them together so I have 5 lb of bees and 2 queens under one excluder and one supper they should produce honey right away im thinking .. autumn olive going to hit soon in this heat wave

Strong hives with no queens will accept only queen from strong hive

I hear that the Russian lines of honey bees can be very difficult to get to requeen with anything but a Russian line Queen.
