Hey Ben thanks for the videos. I watch your videos at bedtime. Your funny and knowledgeable. Watching chess helps me learn, and not focus on stressful life problems when I'm falling asleep.

Efim Geller, great theoretician in the openings. He was part of the Argentinian tragedy (or massacre) of the Gothenburg Interzonal 1955.

What do I think about Geller? Efim.

Minor correction: Karparov did indeed kick Shirov's butt (+15-0=13) but it wasn't "over 25 years". Their first competitive game was in Dortmund in 1992, and their last was in the European club cup in 2004. They also had a draw in a simul in 1986, which is a pretty respectable result for a 14-year-old against the world champion.

In the prtich game Qf8 isn't mate in Re6 variation because f8 is defended by the other rook.

Geller did play that famous endgame though where he produced an insane move/idea with black pieces. Sadly can't remember more details lol. I think there was a pair of rooks and maybe a minor.

Geller vs Flohr, where Black plays King from f6 to g7, only winning move and by far the stupidest looking one on the board?
It was two Rooks two kings and like 6 Pawns, but that move did strike me…. So incredibly dumb looking.

@@jackismname haha ye correct. I was wrong the move happened with a pair of rooks. But ye what a concept. Am not sure why kf7 isn't just the same though

@@Brian-ve7ds there is some intermediate rook check white can do on the open file and get behind blacks pawn before it queens, or thats what I remember cropping up in a lot of lines.

@@fingerprince_ oh yea thats where I saw it. I remember him hyping it up and saying look for the dumbest move, and you still wont find it. I did not and would never have found king g7 in a million years.
