How to adjust paraglider brake lines

- If you do adjust your brake line length it is VERY IMPORTANT that you do not shorten them to much. You must have some slack in the line when you put your hands all the way up. The brake line should look like this ). If there is no slack in the brake lines, the wing may stall much easier and might not recover from a stall. If there is no slack and you fly a reflex wing at full speed, you may get very large collapses that occur because the brake lines are deflecting the trailing edge.

I have this video saved. It’s absolutely my go to for adjusting my lines! Thanks man!
That smile when you got eyes on your new gear!!
Always informative material. Thanks!
Would you say it's a good rule of thumb to shorten the tip steer by the same amount as whatever you did for the main brake line? So, 2" in this case for both - or is it different enough that some trial-and-error is needed
I typically shorten both the same amount and then test fly and make adjustments from there
@@MitchG thanks!
Where did you purchase the custom handles? I like the rigid handle not the flimsy type. Have a Universal and like this type of toggle. I purchased a Spyder3 and I don't like the toggles as they are not rigid and want to change them out. Thanks in advance. I like watching your videos!
These toggles came from my warp. Dudek sells toggles that you can buy. Or maybe see if someone will trade your ozone toggles for dudek ones
@@MitchG Great idea, thanks!
New Wing Day!
I'd rather see you tie a figure 8 knot (looks similar but is a superior knot) but with the overhand stopper, this isn't likely to come undone. Not a lot of weight goes into this so it's a decent connection.
Overhand follow through not a bowline, but that's a better knot than a bowline for these purposes
Over hand knot
That’s a double overhand knot. It’s a solid knot the last one you ties it the overhand safety knot.
Just had to get the same color as me didn't you!
Haha hey I ordered mine first 😜
@@MitchG Doubt it! I paid my money on May 27! EFD next week?
Sorry cant make it.
Anybody else get nervous when he grabbed an exacto to open the box and left it in his hand when he went to grab for a brand new wing? Lol
Helpful.
Newer pilot here - why aren't you using the swivel?
Because I only want to pull the tip line and make sure I'm not pulling any brake line when on speedbar
100th like.😊
I would be inclined to use the swivel attachment and do a wrap, but I’m sure I’m newer to the sport.
For sure especially on wings without 2d steering but wraps are more difficult with a throttle in your hand.
Mitch G wrapping with a throttle to me has become second nature to me, but once I work my way down to a wing that small I’ll have a different perspective.
Now a video how to get those plastic rods in a toggle. Nightmare.
Just figured it out. Plastic hammer. Works like a charm
Hahaha it's not that bad.
