    Folks make sure you read the label! Nufarm video says one thing for the rate and reapplication and the label says something totally different! This is for fescue!

      0.01 Oz per gallon. Is what I’m starting with…. Go with the SLOW program first. If you go with the fast program it will brown it all out quickly and will look crappy. You want to slowly kill it and have your desirable turf pop and take over while it’s fading out!

      Hello and greetings from Nufarm. While the label is always the law, there are aspects of the label that are absolute and then there are aspects that are essentially recommendations. DO NOT is an absolute. The recommendations in the label are because these recommendations were from the original, old label from years ago before we removed the product from the market. The new information we have published on information sheets all still fits within the label, but based upon several years of research there are better programs to use that will give you better results. If you want to get the most out of this product and remove poa triv in a residential lawn, we recommend following our up-to-date recommendations. That being said - this is a highly technical product that can be used in many different ways. The older recommendations will still work. A lot of it comes down to timing, latitude, rate, temperature, etc. Our research shows that as an LCO who cannot be at a property every week or two or three all season long that you will get the best results at 2.25 oz per acre applied two times. If you are a homeowner doing a program with this product, then using a lower rate applied multiple times can make a lot of sense. A golf course is going to be a completely different program as they are there every day and usually have a lot of poa that can't all disappear all at once......

      @rodmarquardt5099 I completely respect this! I still feel like the label should read what you’re saying though. I’ve used your products professionally and as a homeowner it’s just confusing when you crack the label open and it says one thing vs another that’s been posted on a video and a brochure. Either way it’s not a knock to you folks or the product but it is confusing on the recommended rates when most folks read the label on the bottle. Hopefully this can get fixed to match up the label and the brochure.

      @@Primetime_Fescue No disagreement here. Unfortunately, it's not an easy thing to change recommendations on a label. Sometimes it's necessary to work within what we have and deal with a little confusion........ As an addition to your video, this is an SC product that if it sits for a while can separate and become like glue. If that happens some vigorous shaking of the bottle prior to measuring and mixing will usually be sufficient.....

      @@rodmarquardt5099 just want to make sure I am reading the slow program rates correctly. On the brochure it mentioned 0.38oz per acre is 0.25 ML per gallon which is converted to 0.008oz per gallon for the slow rate (3-4 apps every 21 days or so). This will allow the desirable turf to fill in better without leaving too many brown or bare spots since it is a slower pace control. Are these rates correct and is it really 0.008 Oz per gallon? TY

    Here is a great tip and this is what I did before starting the Velocity applications. Put down a blanket spray of Tenacity and after a week, it bleaches and lights up every evil strand of Poa Triv while also injuring it somewhat. Now you know exactly where all the Triv is because its highlighted throughout the yard and makes Velocity super easy to apply.

    Another great video Brad, thanks for the content! So, I applied propiconazole last Saturday evening. Mixed the curative rate of 2oz per gallon and sprayed on the lawn with my flowzone backpack sprayer. I believe what I have going on right now is some rust/leafspot/melting out. Maybe one or two of those all are of em. Not an expert, but through my research I'm pretty sure that's what I have. So I let it sit on the blades for about an hr, then watered in lightly, about 12 mins a zone on my irrigation system. We'll some spot look a little better but there seems to be more popping up everywhere else. Did I do something wrong or do I need to do anything different? I know it takes time to get better but I was surprised to see new areas popping up in a lot of spots. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    • @Primetime_Fescue
      @Primetime_Fescue  3 місяці тому +1

      Don’t use Propiconazole for leaf spot it’s not very good at all and it needs to sit in the leaf and dry being that’s a foliar disease so you basically waisted that app. Azoxystrobin is what you need to apply.

    Sorry for chiming in late, but I have a question on slow vs rapid program.
    As I read it, it seems the purpose of a slower program would be to avoid visible dead patches and "allow the good turf to take back over". But, cool season grasses are not rhizomatic or stolen grasses. There wouldn't be any "taking back over" the area unless new seed is sown, no? So why go slowly? Wouldn't just killing the Triv in time for fall overseed make the most sense?

    • @Primetime_Fescue

      @@Primetime_Fescue Thanks for the reply, and I am following your series on this. I just wonder what people think on why bother with slow if the good turf isn't going to come magically fill in where the dead Triv is. In other words, I am contemplating what any advantage is if spot spraying over just glypo the spots. same results.
      If blanket spraying, sure, you get to keep the unaffected grass. But spot spraying with Velocity and ending up with dead spots that need to be reseeded verses glypho and ending up with dead spots that need to be reseeded ... seems not worth it, no?

    • @Primetime_Fescue
      @Primetime_Fescue  2 місяці тому +1

      @@brianconner1389 my thoughts on this is why even use it if you have large patches! Glyphosate will do the exact same thing because if you have large patches it’s gonna be dirt or really bare either way at the end of the day.

    The online brochure for cool season grass says 0.25 ML per gallon for the slow program which is 0.0080oz per gallon (0.01oz rounded up). You should probably go with this rate to start

    • @Primetime_Fescue
      @Primetime_Fescue  3 місяці тому +1

      That isn’t what the label says. Most folks in this profession go by the label! The label reads for rapid response for tall fescue and rye .75 to 1.1oz per acer which is 0.017 or 0.025oz per 1000 sqft which is 0.50 to 0.739ml per 1000 sqft. If they can’t match up the brochure with the label then this is an issue for me and any other person who follows the label which the label is the law!!

      @tashrayt4398 3 місяці тому

      @@Primetime_Fescue absolutely agree. Yes you are correct about those rates for rapid treatment for patches. But to me it’s also confusing. They say to use 0.01 Oz per gallon for the slow treatment (I did the math on their 0.38oz per acre and rounded up some) for using tow behind tank sprayers for a broad application but want you to use what you had just mentioned for smaller patches. Why not just have it consistent? This will confuse people for sure.
