Ah Q*bert, I've a love hate relationship with that game, I never did get on perfectly with the control scheme, would always end up jumping in a direction I did not intend.
@@crazyclimber80 you were just meant to hold the joystick at a 45 degree angle as using the 4 basic directions (up down left right) was easier to do than making players use the diagonals which requires activating 2 of the switches (up & left etc.). I think it was the right move especially with those knuckle scraping colecovision knob controllers.
Pretty much the only classic arcade game my wife had interest and a lot of skill (and still does), thanks to her old Colecovision. Great series, superb platform.
I remember Tastee-Freez and Dairy Queen (similar restaurants) having great brand-new arcade games.. Ms. Pac-Man and Scramble got my attention at DQ and I saw Asteroids and Pac-Man early at TF. All the TF in my area are long gone.
Glen Smith I think nearly all the tastee freez's have kept the a frame building and converted to a different business. The one close to me is now a teriyaki and burger joint, and the next closest is a hookah lounge.
I remember this port. Played it a lot and was much better at the arcade game after doing so. Excellent port.
riffraffgames what a timeless classic.. But I wonder if there's a story behind why they ditched a title screen.

MaximumRD yeah, it's weird. I believe the atari 2600 port was the same way so I was used to it.

I think with as good as this platform was it could have come out with some better sports titles. Maybe some homebrew programmers have made some.
@@crazyclimber80 Fair point
I believe I played this game first at a Tastee Freeze (or similar restaurant). It’s been a favorite of mine ever since.

I haven’t seen a TF in years...and the nearest DQ is about 45 minutes away. I think I saw most of my favorites for the first time at Kroger’s.

One of the first game I ever played for the Colecovision Russ. I love this little guy and one of the first to curse when he gets hurt. 8^)
Anthony..
I myself wanted to curse every time the little green guy would start changing the step colors. Turd!
