I always thought "Go Straight" is a weirdly unfitting name for the first stage song. Cause in the first stage, YOU DON'T GO STRAIGHT! 😅 You make two 90° turns following the street in the first part of the level. 🤣
Imagine going to the town, buying this game, getting home and playing it! I am blessed to grow up in the 90's. Streets of rage 2 remains my favourite game ever.

Love the video. 46 years old and I grew up playing the three games they came out with on the Genesis. Summer of 92, my friend tells me to put on some music as we hang out in my room. I put this in the Genesis and play some music 👍
@ Such great memories. Played it with my cousins quite a bit as well. I would love to see a them breathe new life into this AMAZING franchise. Might as well, they have remade everything else from our childhoods of late 😂
@@KazumaIshinpabu Oh yea SOR Remake has an amazing soundtrack as well. They remade all of the tracks with so much accuracy, they truly sound like updated versions of the original tracks, they definitely did them justice.
Yep, it was mind-blowing back in 1992-93! My brother and I rented it not long after it came out, and not only did we love the game (we played Final Fight and a ton of other beat 'em ups and other fighting games back then), but the OST really captivated my 9-year-old self!
YEEEEESSSSS!! STREETS OF RAGE 2!! THIS SOUNDTRACK IS LEGENDARY! I'm so happy to see you react to the soundtrack! Play the game someday, it's incredible!
So great to see more people discover Yuzo Koshiro and his magical soundtrack to Streets of Rage 2 :) The music was played at clubs around the world in events hosted by Yuzo Koshiro and Motohiro Kawashima. You should definitely check them out, as their sound in a real club setting is awesome to hear!
Streets of Rage 2 OST one of greatest OST in gaming history !! as a kid in the 90s it was a BANGER!!! in 2025 as a grown adult its still a BANGER….got it on spotify on my ps5 @5:01 BTW there is a video on UA-cam of the Street of Rage OST being performed in a club concert - i too dont go to clubs but i would bop to this sound track absolutely
Streets of Rage 2 was the soundtrack that made me fall in love with videogame music as a whole. The fact that every track is sooooo well done, the details, the energy, it just all connects so well! If I could go back in time and listen to any OST for the first time again, it would be this one. Glad you enjoyed it, keep em comin!
Was looking forward to you covering this one. Yuzo Koshiro is a genius getting those sounds out of that basic ass chip. You should check out his Revenge of Shinobi soundtrack next. A complete contrast.
You’re in for a treat with Streets of Rage 2, it’s unlike anything you’ve heard before, cementing Yuzo Koshiro as a VGM legend, he learned to play the piano at the age of 3. You got yourself a new subscriber. oh and SOR Super Mix is a remix from the bad ending track from the original SOR which I highly recommend, when you get round to it.
Just found your channel and it warms my heart that your fans have suggested some of the BEST soundtracks in gaming, from Ridge Racer 4, to SF3, to Tekken Tag.. you got some good people.
What a delightful surprise to get this video on my night off work. ❤ u Bapple Yuzo Kushiro composer on this soundtrack also worked on some other standout Sega projects, including Revenge of Shinobi, Beyond Oasis / Legend of Oasis, Shenmue, and even the 8bit MasterSystem version of SonicTheHedgehog, solo! The madlad also has a UA-cam channel, his live performance of SoR tracks is stunning, and is currently working on the upcoming new megadrive game Earthion. Worth a follow!
Love it ma'am! You just earned a like and sub for this. I use to hook up a cheap pair of headphones to the Genesis headphone jack on the early on Sega Genesis models. The nostalgia is un-ignorable. 💪🏾🔥
Just found your channel yesterday while looking for Tekken Tag Tournament OST. Watched your video and subbed immediately, seeing you vibe out to our favorite VGM tracks is incredibly refreshing. Was too hype to see this video as SOR 2 is my absolute favorite VGM OST of all time. You had me smiling the whole time. Keep doing ya thing. We rocking with cha. 😎🤙🏾
>First Time Hearing STREETS OF RAGE 2 OST I haven't even seen the video yet, but I have literally NEVER clicked on a video faster. I'll type this comment then see the video. Yuzo Koshiro is genuinely the GOAT of video-game music and even though I owned a Sega Mega Drive (what we Australians call the Sega Genesis) back in the 90s, I never owned Streets Of Rage 2 and I wasn't able to find it to buy it. That's why I downloaded a rom of Streets Of Rage 2 on my Sega Mega Drive emulator back in 2000 and I pretty much INSTANTLY fell in love with the game - ESPECIALLY its music. I love ALL of the music from Streets Of Rage 2, but my most favourite track from Streets Of Rage 2 is always In The Bar no matter what. Is it just me or does Sega have the best video-game franchises? We have not only the Sonic franchise (obviously, as Sonic is their mascot), but also NiGHTS Into Dreams, Ecco The Dolphin, Streets Of Rage, Space Channel 5, Jet Set Radio, Shinobi, etc. And even though Sega has a long history of making shortsighted decisions, they STILL don't sue you into oblivion if you make fan-games of their franchises (unlike Nintendo). I love being a Sega Chad.
the video is very disappointing, it's just a girl commenting on the obvious stuff like "this one is slow", "cool bassline", no musical appreciation, theory or composition knowledge at all. She talks about how her computer is old, but these games run in any emulator from the 90s. She never checked the author other works, influences, talk about how most of these themes are actually remixes or very similar sounding to 80s songs. Very low effort content unfortunately.
I was 9 years old when this game came out. The first time I played it was at my family friends’ house. He was one of the only guys at the time to have a sega genesis. The graphics and more so the music blew my little 9 year old mind. I still come back to the OST even when I’m 41 now because it’s a banger to this day. This developed my love of house and techno music
Seeing your reactions to every single song is so awesome! I remember buying this game back in the day and i was blown away by the music in the game , Yuzo Koshiro is a legend and was so ahead of the times. You need to play the game now we would all love that.
As a huge Steely Dan fan, and someone who vibed with this soundtrack way back in the 90s when it came out in my youth, your comparision to Slow Moon having the Dan vibe almost gave me (good) chills. Two worlds I wasnt expecting to collide. I totally see it, and I can't believe I hadn't picked up on that on revisiting the soundtrack in my adult years!
"In the Bar" is absolute f*cking insanity. It is so incredibly good. PS - The Aja shirt (or whatever) in the background tells me everything I need to know about your music appreciation qualifications. Good for you!
I've never heard this soundtrack in full, so thank you for posting your reaction to it!! I'd love to see you react to the Street Fighter EX + Alpha OST. Much different than the 3rd Strike soundtrack but one of the greatest fighting game OSTs of all time in my opinion!
I enjoyed because you enjoyed. This is one of the soundtracks of my life, after a bad day at the work I used to come home listening Streets of Rage 1 and 2 music and by the time I arrived home, MY rage had gone. Thank you for the video and good luck.
I normally don't care much to listen to reaction vids, but every once in a while I hear someone like you who is consise and actually has something interesting to say. You have a very mature musical ear.
"My PC is a Dinosaur." Great, that's all you need to play old Sega Genesis games with an emulator. People have been doing so since the 90s. The processing power it took for your computer to render this video you uploaded is magnitudes higher.
The face you made on the thumbnail tells me all I need to know; the 'oh s*** 🔥' face 😂 glad you finally got to listen to this masterpiece! I'm more into SOR3 soundtrack, but the second one is so memorable! Yuzo Koshiro is like a mentor to me, got me into music production. I even got to see him and Motohiro live a while back playing all the SOR tracks, it was dope!
I'm so glad you got to check this out. I can't put into words how much I love this soundtrack... makes me think back to when they released Streets of Rage 4 a few years ago. Yuzo Koshiro did the main title theme, and it just had me in tears within seconds. Just so much epic nostalgia came flooding in, it was amazing. I freaking love video game music. ❤
Yeah, Streets of Rage 4 feels like a truer sequel and pays proper homage, with tracks being brought back from 2 and giving them a slight twist/remix while keeping the nostalgia
SOR 4 is ok. The problem is that it sounds like a random compilation album since it had over 10 artists working on the ost. SOR 1 & SOR 2 are so iconic because it sounded like a movie ost where every single song is building up to the climax with Mr. X. Tee Lopes should've did the entire SOR 4 ost because his cuts sound even more like SOR 2 than Yuzo's own tracks did.
@@eliezerreyes7762 SOR 3 sounded like a proper evolution to me in regards to what was popular during the 90s. SOR 1 was New Jack Swing, SOR 2 went straight up Rave & SOR3 was Industrial techno like Nine Inch Nails or something. SOR 4 continued the tradition of just doing what's currently popular during the era, so it sounds a bit more like SOR2 because modern era revolves around nostalgia.
His Actraiser 2 ost is really something else. It sounded like an actual orchestra, on the SNES! He tried to do something similar with Beyond Oasis, but the Genesis seems to only do techno, heavy metal & electronic osts really well.
In the Bar is definitely THE best track in SoR history. Just walking into the bar and hearing that playing for the first time it just takes you to another part of thd planet.
I'm 47 years old and I love playing SOR series. I was 14 years old when SNES and Genesis wad out and playing these games brings back memories. I'm so happy you're reacting and listening to one of the GREATEST video games soundtracks ever.🥳🥳🥳🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰😁👍🏻
Just for context since you haven't heard SoR1's OST, the character select theme is a remix of SoR 1's, the song "SoR Super Mix" uses bits of both the intro theme (which itself is a remix of SoR1's intro theme) and the final stage theme from SoR1 as a satisfying finale/callback. Similarly, Revenge of Mr. X is a remix of the SoR1 final boss theme.
To add on to Zetablade's info... "Walking Bottom" was used in the prototype for SOR2, in which this played on the first stage instead of "Go Straight". "Little Money Avenue" isn't even on a stage... it's just a random track in the sound test.
Maybe my favourite game OST of all time, just a top to bottom masterpiece. I found you through this video, and since yesterday I've been going through all of your other videos. I'm really surprised nobody recommended Trail of Blood, from the original Final Fantasy 7 specifically, for the scariest game songs, so if you ever do another one of those it should definitelybe on the list. As far as other recommendations go, I'd just have to say go for Streets of Rage 4, as its my second most played video game OST after Streets of Rage 2! It's this great collaborative effort between Yuzo and Olivier Deriviere, among other artists, that just perfectly matches the vibes of the originals with a modern twist. Streets of Rage 1 is also definitely worth a look, as it's also ahead of its time and is a good look into how Yuzo progressed between 1 & 2. Streets of Rage 3 however is DIVISIVE. It was incredibly experimental, with Yuzo and Motohiro Kawashima developing a kind of automated composition software, then picking and choosing then slotting together different things the machine spat out. It ends up being this insane schizophrenic attack on your ears that's more in line with acid trance or something. I personally don't like 95% of it, but it would be really interesting to hear your thoughts after loving 2's so much.
When I was teenager in early 90's I had this game and loved the soundtrack so much that worked out all the trouble in order to record it to a cassette for listening. I remember that at the time my favourite track by far was The Expander, I just couldn't get enough of that song. Now I am over 40 and still that is my favourite song, even though I like most of the others too. God damn how good soundtrack this is!
Dang. It's super cool watching someone hear Streets of Rage 2 for the first time. Now that you've heard this, it might be worth checking out the first game for you because a few songs here in SoR2 are remixed from the first game. I'd say the first game's music is maybe a tad less experimental but still in a similar vein. Both games have excellent music. I hope this leads you to check out more chip music because there's a lot of gems out there that so many people sleep on. I think I'll check out more of your videos and see what else you've listened to. Subscribed! :)
Expander was pretty much some of the start of what Streets of Rage 3 would focus on: a totally experimental OST that people would deem as weird or strange and not like SOR2, but I think (as usual) Yuzo was ahead of his time in music making...and SOR3's soundtrack is one of my favorites in the series over the years. Not to take away from Streets of Rage 1, 2, or 4, but 3 is just full of head-bangers. I can't wait until you look at SOR4, especially the DLC music for Mr. X Nightmare. Those are some incredible tracks. And I've subbed to you! I always love listening to opinions of fellow music fanatics! I'd love to recommend stuff to listen to! 😁😁😁
@@kinorai -- Nothing against SOR2, as legendary as it is, but The Poets I from SOR3 is seriously my all-time favorite track in the entire series...apart from maybe Moon Beach in SOR1, but SOR2 is still incredible. All the "Moon" themes are amazing though: SOR1's Moon Beach, SOR2's Slow Moon, and SOR3's Moon.
Hi, I just discovered your channel from this video. It's definitely worth checking out the SOR1 OST, you'll see where some of these tracks got their inspiration from. I'm about to go and check out your RR Type 4 video. Please please please, the love RRT4 OST gets is well deserved, but it's caused the music from the first RR and RR Revolution to slip completely under the radar. Their songs are different, more upbeat and hard-hitting than RRT4, but PERFECT for arcade style drift racing. I'd KILL for someone on UA-cam to feature them, hopefully it's you.
So glad you got to react to one of the greatest OSTs ever made. Yuzo Koshiro has been a big influence in my life when it comes to music in general, especially from the 80s and 90s (made me start doing remixes and stuff), and has been a guy I have studied for YEARS... the guy is a genius. He also made probably the best Trance soundtracks in videogaming with the Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune series which is a popular arcade racing game series. Keep up the great work and looking forward to more content! :)
You ever check out his work in project x zone and it’s sequel, it’s a cross over game between capcom sega and namco and he gets his opportunity to remix everything from ghosts n goblins to yakuza
@@finnmarr-heenan2397 I don't know why I didn't get notified of this reply. But yes I have the Project X Zone 1 OST on CD and I loved his work on both Project X Zone games. It was nice to see Axel in the second game too. I hope they can get re-released but I guess there's a lot of red tape concerning the rights involved with that game.
Love that on Dreamer, you said it sounded like a pop song. Koshiro sampled or interpolated a LOT of contemporary dance songs in this OST and for the first game's. Under Logic, for example, was based off the song Move Any Mountain by the Shamen. 1's OST is the most similar to this one; Koshiro got more experimental and less melodic for 3, and more of 3's OST was done by Motohiro Kawashima. Walking Bottom and Little Money Avenue are beta tracks that weren't used in the final game, but I'm glad they got put on the soundtrack release regardless. The SOR supermix at the end is used in the opening scene and final level, despite being after the two cut songs on the OST. It was so fun hearing your guesses on where the songs are taking place in the game. Too Deep is happening in a descending elevator instead of underwater, and Alien Power and Dreamer are playing in an amusement park (no actual aliens in this game 😅).
It's always nice to see and hear someone's first reaction to one of the greatest OSTs in video game history. I grew up in a house that loved music of all genres and playing this with my brother at around 6 years old I would just stand still at times just to listen to the music of each stage. It remains a core memory and it's just absolutely slaps in every song, and the ending theme is just pure bliss to me
Yuzo Koshiro is a LEGEND. Revenge of Shinobi (also on the Genesis/Mega Drive) and ActRaiser (on Super Nintendo) are two of my favorite video game scores ever. Revenge of Shinobi's opening track "Silence Night" was also sampled by Madlib on his song "Blast (Computer Rock). Definitely glad to see you react to this game's OST, it's phenomenal. Would love to see you react to Robotron 64's OST, it's one of the most underrated games on the N64 and it has a Gabber/Hardcore techno soundtrack. Also, RareWare's Killer Instinct from 1994. One of my favorite fighting games ever, with an EDM/House soundtrack. It even got an official CD release called "Killer Kuts".
Seeing you enjoy something for the first time that we've known about and treasured for such a long time makes this an IMMEASURABLY smile-worthy video to watch. Thank you so much for sharing your first time hearing it with us all =D
Streets of rage 2 was the first video game OST i noticed as kid that i "really" liked. I was 7 and always went into the menu to play the music tracks often. Yuzo Koshiro is a legendary artist, and has made so many bangers over the years over tons of games that i think you will be listening to many of his soundtracks in the coming videos. haha He's also a freelancer composer, and does a whole bunch of stuff. I said many times if i ever made a video game at one point, i'd try to get Yuzo Koshiro to make some tracks. A few months ago i picked up a sleek Vinyl of the games OST from Datadisc.
I’m 40 years old. And this soundtrack never left my mind, it’s been living there rent free ever since. And I’m ok with that 🔥 Spin On The Bridge and Jungle Base might be my favourites. But the whole OST is god tier
Yuzo Koshiro has made such an impact on video game music in the 90s and well into the early 2000s series like Streets of Rage and Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune games wouldn't be as hype and enjoyable without his musical experience and influence.
27:28 instantly recognized that from Doom II: Sunlust, Map 29. The Sunlust mapset uses midi versions of songs from several different games and is an absolute vibe, it's turned me onto multiple full soundtracks of other games
Excellent for another younger person getting into Streets of Rage 2's OST! Glad you liked it! This soundtrack goes SOOOOOO hard! I was 9, almost 10, when this game came out at the end of 1992, and the songs blew me away then! I always loved video game music, but Yuzo Koshiro's so ridiculously talented, and his sense of melody and composition is so on point, that this one captured my attention immediately! On a right-turn recommendation for the Genesis, as it sounds nothing like SOR2, would be Ys III: Wanderers From Ys. One of the best on the Genesis, underrated!
What a great surprise. I used to love the soundtrack for 2 as well like it was unparalleled, I liked it best because I played it far more than 1, everyone adored 2 so people think it has a particularly legendary ost, but 1 is just as good, mayyyyyybeeeeee even a shade better. Arguably, they're both unreal. Streets of Rage 3 is Yuzo going through his Aphex Twin stage haha, it's different from the first two which are the same vibes Subbed 3rd track is the boss music btw, a treat at the end of every level Btw, you missed one of the best songs in the game, you heard it at the start of the super mix one, that's the music for the opening credits/final level, I guess you got a taster anyway 🤪
23:27 If you like the dark ones, Streets of Rage 3 would be right up your alley. Lots of people don't like how harsh it sounds, but dang does i go hard as heck!!! :D
@@apocalypse2084 Me too. It was so ahead of its time, with its randomized hardcore electronic sounds that I didn't like much at first, but that soundtrack grew on me with time. So much so that playing the game with any other soundtrack similar to SOR1&2 would feel weird and out of place.
I looooooovee this ost and had a feeling you would love In the Bar. I adore that track cuz of the crazy jazz influences XD. Also Nice Aja Steely Dan cover on the chair hehe
This won't be the most popular suggestion but *Zero Divide* soundtrack is the one of the most underrated pieces of electronic music ever created. I keep returning to it and often finding something new to focus on and be amazed by.
Oh wow this brought back so many memories for me. This game came out a year before I was born but my dad was a gamer and had a bunch of old school consoles including a Sega Genesis and we used to play this game together all the time. The nostalgia hit me hard!
I dont know why but it took me hearing good ending for me to realize how special this soundtrack was. I was so focused on beating the game when i was young that, while I definitely remember enjoying the music, it was hearing good ending that made me go “wait… i want to hear that again” and that was the first time I started really paying attention to the compositions and falling in love with VGS as a whole.
A bit of context for NEVER RETURN ALIVE, this song plays during most of the boss fights at the end of a stage. That's why it's so chaotic and NASTY lol
"Go Straight" is a national game treasure, that song will never get old.
I always thought "Go Straight" is a weirdly unfitting name for the first stage song. Cause in the first stage, YOU DON'T GO STRAIGHT! 😅 You make two 90° turns following the street in the first part of the level. 🤣
@@William3000x Lol
I think I prefer "Dreamer" as my favorite on this OST but Go Straight is iconic for sure.
You know you’ll go crazy on the dance floor when that song hits

I'll never forget that experience myself.

As for you saying it sounds like Sonic - boy do I have news for you! Yuzo Koshiro made the music for the 8-bit Sonic games!
What a delightful surprise to get this video on my night off work. ❤ u Bapple
Yuzo Kushiro composer on this soundtrack also worked on some other standout Sega projects, including Revenge of Shinobi, Beyond Oasis / Legend of Oasis, Shenmue, and even the 8bit MasterSystem version of SonicTheHedgehog, solo!
YES YES YES YES!!!!!
:D
You had me at, "this part is so nasty." Liked and subscribed.
Thank you for being such delightful company to rediscover these tracks with, and to watch your genuine reactions
>First Time Hearing STREETS OF RAGE 2 OST
I haven't even seen the video yet, but I have literally NEVER clicked on a video faster.
@@DarkMoe Cool story bro.
These OST reactions are the timeline cleanse.... like a warm cuppa tea
Seeing your reactions to every single song is so awesome! I remember buying this game back in the day and i was blown away by the music in the game , Yuzo Koshiro is a legend and was so ahead of the times. You need to play the game now we would all love that.
Grew up playing this game with my brothers and cousins. The soundtrack really holds up well. Definitely one of the best ever created.
Best of the series.
Set the standard for all gaming music. Thank you Yuzo Koshiro. 😊
I get a kick out of you enjoying the music I've been bumping in my car for ages. 😄 Great video, keep it going Battleapple! 👊 🍎
I enjoyed because you enjoyed. This is one of the soundtracks of my life, after a bad day at the work I used to come home listening Streets of Rage 1 and 2 music and by the time I arrived home, MY rage had gone. Thank you for the video and good luck.
This game is near and dear to my heart. Yuzo Koshiro shaped my taste in music and the game on beat em ups. My absolute favorite song is Dreamer.
Holy molyyy I just lost my mind, sitting down and ready to go for this :D
I'm so glad you got to check this out. I can't put into words how much I love this soundtrack... makes me think back to when they released Streets of Rage 4 a few years ago. Yuzo Koshiro did the main title theme, and it just had me in tears within seconds. Just so much epic nostalgia came flooding in, it was amazing. I freaking love video game music. ❤
you defo will love streets of rage 4 soundtrack
Yeah, Streets of Rage 4 feels like a truer sequel and pays proper homage, with tracks being brought back from 2 and giving them a slight twist/remix while keeping the nostalgia
Yes!
@HereticHydra I don't really agree but I respect your opinion
Yuzo Koshiro was a genius when you consider his incredible range from the Ys soundtrack to Actraiser to Revenge of Shinobi. Truly fantastic stuff!
His Actraiser 2 ost is really something else. It sounded like an actual orchestra, on the SNES! He tried to do something similar with Beyond Oasis, but the Genesis seems to only do techno, heavy metal & electronic osts really well.
These videos are so chill, especially with the minimalistic amount of editing. Can't wait to see you try the ethereal Tekken 4 OST.
Haha I’m glad you say that (me not having the patience or knowing how to edit…) 😅
@@battleappleit certainly stands out this way, with most of the videos being overedited nowadays. A nice break for the brain.
Brother Koshiro made the streets of rage music, while sister Koshiro produced the art for the game.
What a perfect family :O
I was in the gym listening to "Dreamer" 5 minutes ago. Must be fate.
I saw a video about the Streets Of Rage 2 OST on Charles Cornell's channel just 2 days ago then I saw this video today. There are no coincidences.
Dreamer is my favorite song on the whole track. Absolute banger.
Dreamer's my fav.
Actually, my fav is "Under Logic", then this one.
@@NYCHeavyHitz212What do you mean? The song titles are mixed up? Because the sequence is correct.
This soundtrack is pure gold, every music is a fucking banger and aged like wine
@@RiotEXE Boss music also feel like a reprise from Attack the Barbarian (SoR1 boss theme)
Best VG OST EVER!
Subscribed! :)
It's always fun to see someone else getting to experience and enjoy something I've loved since childhood.
SOR3 is an acquired taste, but yes it is an absolutely KILLER soundtrack too!!!
I must have heard these songs over 100 times, but because of you, I now have a new appreciation of them. Thanks for that!
Streets of Rage 1, 2 and 3 have my favorite soundtracks in video games, period. Yuzo Koshiro is still my favorite composer to this day.
Acabo de descubrir tu canal me gustó !!
Doy mi granito de arena con la música de:
Shatterhand OST
Saludos!
For Go Straight, his main influence was Good Life by Inner City. Listen to the Kevin Sanderson mix (3m 17s duration).
Look up Streets of Rage Remake soundtrack, they got them so close with the versions they remixed for that :)
It's always nice to see and hear someone's first reaction to one of the greatest OSTs in video game history. I grew up in a house that loved music of all genres and playing this with my brother at around 6 years old I would just stand still at times just to listen to the music of each stage. It remains a core memory and it's just absolutely slaps in every song, and the ending theme is just pure bliss to me
I recommend Thunder Force 4 on the Genesis if you haven't heard that OST.
Thunder Force V too! Amazing soundtracks!
Thunder Force AC too while we're at it
Yes, totally agree 👍
hell yeah the 1st level music is imprinted in my brain forever
Might need to do that! I really liked Thunder Force 2's soundtrack.
Rave, techno, jungle. hip hop, jazz, pop and house its all in there how can a soundtrack be so diverse yet so cohesive, koshiro is dangerous.
And I’m ok with that 🔥
Spin On The Bridge and Jungle Base might be my favourites. But the whole OST is god tier
Yuzo Koshiro has made such an impact on video game music in the 90s and well into the early 2000s series like Streets of Rage and Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune games wouldn't be as hype and enjoyable without his musical experience and influence.
Fair play to you for reviewing this from the U.K , shout to you and all your hard work!! 👌this takes me back.prodigy vibes !!
This sounds like Sonic? Not surprised.
Sega made both this game and Sonic. This soundtrack is like the old school GOAT.
Yuzo Koshiro composed the entire soundtrack solo for the early Sonic 8bit titles.
I feel like this is something where its also great to see the aesthetic aswell as the music fits so well
The streets of rage remake V5 versions of the songs also go insanely hard, jungle base especially
Streets of Rage 3 is Yuzo going through his Aphex Twin stage haha, it's different from the first two which are the same vibes
Subbed
3rd track is the boss music btw, a treat at the end of every level
Btw, you missed one of the best songs in the game, you heard it at the start of the super mix one, that's the music for the opening credits/final level, I guess you got a taster anyway 🤪
23:27 If you like the dark ones, Streets of Rage 3 would be right up your alley. Lots of people don't like how harsh it sounds, but dang does i go hard as heck!!! :D
hell yeah!
I learned to appreciate SoR 3 soundtrack
@@apocalypse2084 Me too. It was so ahead of its time, with its randomized hardcore electronic sounds that I didn't like much at first, but that soundtrack grew on me with time. So much so that playing the game with any other soundtrack similar to SOR1&2 would feel weird and out of place.
One of the GOATs. Used to play this constantly with my brother in the early 90s, great memories.
This takes me back to the Smooth Mcgroove phase. He was such a talented acapella artist back in the day. Hope he comes back one day
He's mostly back, he just released an album of original tracks.
@@FirePike4577 Ooo noice! I'll have to take a look my dude! Thank you :)
Never return alive plays everytime you go against the end of level BOSS
This music IS just so good !! ❤❤❤
This was an amazing review of one my favorite House/Tech/RNB/Jungle soundtracks of all time!!
Much Respect!!
Subbed!🙏🏾💪🏾🔥
