I have the 212N and I'm very happy with it. It sounds amazing with many different heads too. I've run genzler, markbass, handbox, and ashdown through it and it never sounded bad.

I've got the 112. Can't fault it. Love the sound, and it "solved" the issue I had with other cabs being too flabby to my ears. Lots of top end clarity, with the option of having less by turning down the tweeter. Sounds great with distortion. I need another one...

I went with the DH212N because there's something nice happening in the low-mid range that makes my bass lines sound bigger and heavier, and I dig it.

I like 12's better then 10's for that very reason. I used to have an of GK 412 cab that paired really well with 5 string basses.

Just the video I've been looking for. Thanks guys! Just sold my Markbass 121p and I'm looking for a 210 or 112. I have recently tested the Glockenklang Duo Neo (210) and was super impressed... but it's big and heavy (20kg/45lbs). If I go Darkglass, I might take two DG112Ns: Greetings from Europe!

I have the 1x12 and I love it. The only draw back is it doesn't seem to perform as well at lower volumes. It's fine just unimpressive. When I run my Orange OD-1 300 into it it starts sounding the best when you really start start pushing some dirt though it.

Good vid, Will. Aside from being shaped like a mini-fridge, the 2X12 Neo cab really holds up to the 900 watts from the VMT 900 V2 head. Volume at noon (half way) will dominate the foundational sonic space without breaking a sweat. Yes, I'd like another 2X12 but can't call it a "need" though it seems to have the right balance between tight and warm.

I bought a Fender rumble 500 as a backup... now I use it most of the time for everything! Though I might look into the darkglass cabinets as well.. Love darkglass pedals.

2x12 sounded the best, and is the best choice if you keep in mind the portability value. There is always something happening in the low midrange with 12' cabs. 4*10 was clearly the one pushing the most air of course.

I have the darkglass 212 and it sounds amazing! But it needs to be pushed, and it can be too loud. I'm thinking about getting the 210 that way it won't overpower a stage.

Only from one-time hearing, I'd go for the 112. Surprisingly enough, it seemed to deliver a tad more low end and sounds a bit "scooped", but in a way I like it. A one-on-one with the Orange OBC112 would be interesting ... and the option to combine several 112s is quite appealing ...
BTW, I currently play the combination of a 115 and a 210, both from FMC (cab manufacturer in Germany - highly recommended!), fed by a PA power amp.

I'm surprised the 12s sound so much clearer to my ear. Comparatively, the 10s sound dark and "murky" on my headphones. Kind of the opposite of what I would expect.
I always wonder about mic placement when the cab has a tweeter. Maybe what I'm hearing is more about whether the tweeter is getting picked up as strongly for each cab...?

I use a Ampeg 4x10 guitar cab w/celestions and a custom port hole chopped out of the back of it. Perhaps I should consider an upgrade... but I dig the tone too much.

I'm looking to get an all new bass rig I've been bouncing back and forth from either Hartke or Mesa I'd be open to try out something else but between the two I've had a Hartke rig and loved it and I've heard someone else's mesa setup and it sounded like gold if gold had a sound . I can never really tell watching these videos if what I'm hearing is the bass or the amp tone the fender sounds like mud I know people love mud and the stingray sounded odd for a stingray .

Can you guys do a similar comparo on the GK NEO IVs? And for that matter it would be cool to see this same format video, comparing different brands in each cabinet configuation - 1X12s. 2X12s. 2X10s, 4X10s, etc....

I was initially thinking 12s for versatility (especially with a 5 string), but at lower household volumes, I would imagine it will take less power to get a 10 inch speaker to react. 🤔

team 12;)..... i tested darkglass, markbass, ampeg and so on before but i ended up buying Tc electronic 2 12 ! really they deserve more attention! the cabs are awesome! my rig at the moment are 4(!) Tc 212 into an 2 ohm amp( Eden Nemesis) thats a 8 12" monster wall which (used) cost the same as 1 darkglass cab:)

    I have the Darkglass 4x10 and it's my favorite. I play hardcore/metal/punk.
Over the years I've run a few different cabs- hartke hydrive 8x10, orange 8x10, Mesa boogie 4x10, and an ampeg svt 4x10. The Darkglass has a much more clear top end, and i find everything is a bit more defined. Plus it's super light! It sounds so good I sold my 8x10's. I always miss my cab when I end up having to use someone else's.
