  • This is how you perfectly shallow the golf club in transition.
    Be sure to follow this step my step process and blend in your swing changes from the top of the backswing.
    This was an extremely efficient practice session and there is no reason at all that you can't look for this with your practice routine.

    One of your first tips in this is pausing at the top, absolutely one of the biggest game changers for me when practicing.. notice a lot of people including myself that tend to slice the ball always 'jump' from the top, feeling a slight pause, and then go, is just such a nice drill. Great video as always.

    this is a fantastic video im gonna end up watching a hundred times this winter. i am so close to being able to shallow the club and strike my irons much better. its like i understand what to do and why when i watch, but have a hard time executing it and seeing in my own swing when im addressing the ball getting ready to hit. im a mid handicapper, finally took lessons last spring and my game much improved all summer. these 3 vids from trottie are exactly where i need to focus in order to get to that next level and start breaking 80, and getting my swing to where it is technically very sound. shallowing the club and squaring the club face with good tempo is my kryptonite right now

    This is something I need to work on. At the moment I'm very steep with irons bit it's more of a bandaid. Managed to sort driver with the help of your last driver video and the one with Aaron Rogers, got attack angle 3⁰ up and launch angle at 10⁰+

    Just goes to show how feel is not real, you don't appear to be allowing the shaft to drop /shallow.
    By the way this shallowing is the best tip for irons i have come across in a very very long time, absolute Gold, it sorted my irons, now got my little draw back and finding the sweet spot a lot more.
    Cheers Trottie keep up the content👍

    Were you ever a tour player? Unlike most UA-cam golf instructors, you keep talking through the motions which is a sign of a very good golfer. That’s talent. Do you have a handicap?

      Hey, Thanks & appreciated. I tried to play & made fringes of Challenge Tour but never the main show. Offered the gig with TaylorMade and loved it so didn't look back. Qualified PGA Pro but now back as an amateur. Don't play much so move between a +4 to +1 on the GHIN thing, old UK system prolly a solid +1 😂. Love the game, glad you're liking the vids & appreciate you recognize the time I've dedicated to it

    Any thoughts about hitting off a range matt? This is all we have access to in Utah when the weather turns.

    • @trottiegolf

      Just keep on top of your loft n lies & if you pick up. an injury then stop. Also keep in mind then ball will launch a hair higher with less spin.

    5’7 golfer here. I want to tinker with my equipment this winter. Whats a good place to start spec wise for 6 iron length/loft/lie? Based on golfers of similar height and common specs that theyve been fitted into.

    • @trottiegolf
      @trottiegolf  Рік тому

      What's your shot shape? Divot Pattern? Preferred Shape? Intentions for off season swing work?

    • @blade_rnr
      @blade_rnr Рік тому

      Thanks for responding man!
      - Hitting a fade but prefer a straight shot / baby draw
      - i tend to take deeper divots however once i find my lowpoint i can achieve shallow divots. And i feel like i do this by standing taller.
      I generally shoot in the 80s but i really want to crack 80 next season. This winter i will really focus on my transition as my miss is hitting before the ball at times. Also hate my tempo. I really just want to hit a consistent shot/shape/and tighten my shot dispersion.

    • @blade_rnr
      @blade_rnr Рік тому

      Also just for curiosity sake do you know if guys like abraham ancer/ brian harman hard-step their irons to play them shorter?
      Thanks again.

    • @trottiegolf
      @trottiegolf  Рік тому

      Why would they do that based on height?

    • @trottiegolf
      @trottiegolf  Рік тому +2

      @@blade_rnr very tough to do a fitting over the internet, it's a great process but it sounds like you could be early extending so consider .25" shorter in shaft length and a std lie BUT ideally you should go and get a fitting

    I noticed that when you demonstrated laying id off or letting it fall behind you that your left tricep came off your chest. (i.e. you lost connection.) Is that what you want, or should you try and stay connected?

    • @trottiegolf
      @trottiegolf  Рік тому +1

    so on my practice mat at home i took a felt pen and made a line about 15 degrees or so inside the target line and swing down on that line, do you think that would be like the shallowing move?

    • @trottiegolf
      @trottiegolf  3 місяці тому

      I think it's a good drill but you'd need to study shot shape or some camera angles. No doubt it's not a bad idea

    Does swinging in to out automatically shallow the club?

    • @trottiegolf
      @trottiegolf  25 днів тому

      Swinging in to out and trying to hit it higher will certainly help BUT watch how you do it otherwise you'll tilt back and flip. Trust me from experience it can be a dangerous place to go

    Do a detailed video on shallowing your driver and hitting a tight draw and talk about take away (step by step) and your down swing (swing thought etc) and that video will get millions of views but do not use an iron to teach a driver swing (not saying that's what you're doing here, I'm talking in general). Cheers
