Spot on. Three different thoughts on how to shallow. Haven't heard the shoulder to ear feel before. For me it seems to make my swing smoother vs the other 2. Thanks! loved chipping video as well.
Trail arm connection is a no no. You're 100% correct about it causing lack of width and power. The guys over at AMG have shown on GEARS that most pros stay wide with the trail arm.
Hey there! I do think that the "sitting" motion has merit and can be helpful as long as you keep the upper body passive for a few seconds at the top while the lower body initiates that motion.
@@coachcarolin Absolutely, It's a game of keep away with regard to the right shoulder. Let the shaft glide down the back prior to unwinding the upper body.
Hey! Text book answer is the left hip. HOWEVER, back to my point of exaggeration, if we want to correct something we are doing wrong, like early rotation with the hip, we will need to feel the arms drop first. In reality, our hip will still move first but we "feel" like it doesnt. Feel and Real in the golf swing is so different from one another.
@@coachcarolin I like Sergio's pulling the chain feel, and whenever I can channelise that, it's nice. But my problem is to keep that feeling and still get the timing of release correct and also the game within 100 yards (PW in for me). Nice video, anyway. I like that thought, it can be a good one to start the downswing as it also promotes connection! Look at you coming up with some great ideas yourself! I love it! 5 star student over here :)
These are some of, if not the best "Downswing" thoughts ever shared on UA-cam. Thank you so much for sharing.
No one video has ever explained shallowing so well. Great video
Great lesson, especially overdoing the change.
Glad you liked it!
Overdoing change is KEY! I see this all the time that amateurs are afraid to get out of their comfort zone.
I found this lesson very good. The three feels for correctly shallowing make sense. The elbow towards the pocket seems the best to me.
Awesome, yes the elbow in the pocket is a great feel!
First time here but not the last. Good video addressing some very important mechanics.
Thanks Coach 🤝
Thanks for the 3 options. I'm looking to try it . I'm looking for feel better than thinking. Thanks
Great way to explain. Thanks
...really grateful if you could clarify the work of left hip rotation (fwd hip) in transition. Thank you so much indeed.
Heading to the range tomorrow. This has been on my mind. Thank you for the help!
Great job. Love the 3 different body parts to explain the concept!
Thanks Coach!
My pleasure Andy :)! Stay tuned for more
Great job! and great lesson. This is so good. Thank you
You are very welcome!
Really good informative content. Thank you
Thanks! I love being able to share all the learnings from my Tour days, golf is hard enough as it is so I want to make sure we share the wisdom!

Great information! They all helped. Thank you!
You are so welcome!!
Great summary
Three options! Thanks
Very helpful lesson!!
Thanks! It's great to know it helped you!
Great coaching.
Like keeping back to target and dropping arms. I have tried the elbow in pocket and don’t do it well. Good lesson
Perfect! Yes, everyone is different and can relate better to certain feels and body motions. This is why I love giving you guys options!
I like how you made it so much simple. Body rotation not about the arms.
Yep! Its the big muscles that drive the small ones! Takes out a ton of bad compensation patterns!
Great tip
Happy to hear it was helpful!
Great tip!.. I’ve been focusing on staying connected with my trail arm, but I’m worried about sacrificing width and subsequently power.

Hi wondering the differences between a puller vs thrower? Which one are you?
Hi Carolin, What is your opinion of sitting in transition and simply allowing the shaft to follow the sit motion?
Hey there! I do think that the "sitting" motion has merit and can be helpful as long as you keep the upper body passive for a few seconds at the top while the lower body initiates that motion.

Getting my right elbow in front of the pocket as I feel like I’m throwing a rock worked for me
What moves first during the transition - the left hip (rotation) or fhe right arm (falling)?

How about bringing elbows closer together? Like you are kind of squeezing them closer? I am new to this move so I am trying to find a trigger….

I always feel weird but I suck.
Great explanation. Thank you
