Randy of Straight No Chaser This is so wonderful
Please come to Florida!
Loved the song!
I'm leaning that song for are school play
Someone on Tumblr linked to this video so I had to see this for myself
"You'd better not shout, you'd better not cry, you'd better not --- in a pear tree"
Harmony is hard enough, but organizing chaos so perfectly is freakin amazing.
"I had Christmas down in Africa, FIVE GOLDEN RINGS!" That falsetto is amazing, love it!
I never knew i was singing it wrong
Right, you learn something new everyday
The fact that when I first heard this I cringed like "oh damn they messed up," now I can't hear Africa by ToTo without singing Christmas in Africa.
same
My choir is attempting to do this and I am completely terrified. This is so complicated, and they do it so well!
So I'm curious, how did it go?
It went really well! We went caroling and drew quite a crowd :)
this is fucking iconic. Whenever he says, "I have a little dreidel", I lose my shit.
Now, this is downright funny, and not a bad mashup
I died at the Dradle part, cause it was so off! XD
right omg
My high school elite choir did this once...they even acted confused as the song “fell apart.” Since this has been one of my favorite carols since childhood I loved every bit of it.
I'm sorry, but the part with the dreidel absolutely killed me...
Ian Macdonald same
Kk
My mom used to play this song all the time during Christmas when I was a kid and I remember being so shocked finding out Africa wasn't a Christmas song
I've only had a handful of panic attacks and this video manages to encapsulate the feeling of all of them happening at once
The carol of the bells part is my favorite part
This is a panic attack in musical form
I have been living under a rock that I have never watched this brilliance before.
My brother is a high school choir teacher, and I just heard this at their concert! The boys were singing, "they were milking just for me!" so dramatically that everyone burst out laughing.
I got the “five golden rings” part as a solo in my choir and I am so happy to listen to this again.
All these years later this is still amazing.
Dr. That One Guy right 2016 and its still LOVED 2 INFINITY AND BEYOND!!!
When you only have 4 minutes left to live and you want to listen to a Christmas song but can’t decide which one
I love that 5 golden rings solo, yaaaaas
That dude going full soprano out of NOWHERE is my favorite one. SKILLS.
that's just crazy, never seen a group doing such a complicated thing!
Christmas down in Africa gets me everytime.....genius
It really isn’t Christmas until I’ve had the annual listening of SNC’s 12 Days of Christmas.
the black guy when they're singing I had Christmas down in Africa lol
I usually just listen to this song on spotify, but sometimes I watch this video for the audience’s reaction so I can try and recapture some of the pure joy I felt when I heard it the first time.
"The 12 Days Of Christmas"
On the 1st day of Christmas my true love gave to me
A partridge in a pear tree
On the 2nd day of Christmas my true love gave to me
2 turtle doves and a partridge in a pear tree
On the 4th day of Chris
On the 3rd day of Christmas my true love gave to me
5 golden rings!
4 calling birds, 3 french hens, 2 turtle doves
And a partridge in a pear tree
On the 9th day of Christmas my true love gave to me
(On the 8th day of Christmas my true love gave to me)
9 ladies dancing, 8 ladies dancing
(8 maids a-milking, 7 maids a-milking)
7 ladies dancing, 6 ladies dancing
(6 maids a-milking)
5!
Better not shout, you better not cry
You better not, in a pear tree
On the 9th
No!
On the 8th
No!
On the 7th day of Christmas my true love gave to me
(Deck the halls with boughs of holly)
7 swans a-swimming, 6 geese a-laying
(Here we come a-wassailing, among the leaves so)
5 golden rings!
(Fa la la la)
4 calling birds, 3 french hens, 2 turtle doves
(Here we come a-wassailing among the leaves so green)
The boar's head in hand bear I bedeck'd with bays
And partridge in a pear tree
On the 11th day of Christmas my true love gave to me
11 pipers piping, 10 lords a-leaping
(Ding, dong)
9 ladies dancing, 8 maids a-milking
(Ding, dong)
7 swans a swimming, 6 geese a laying
(Ding, dong)
5 golden rings, 4 calling birds
3 french hens, 2 turtle doves
And Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer!
On the 12th day of Christmas my true love gave to me
I have a little dreidel, I made it out of clay
And when it's dry and ready, a dreidel I shall play
Oh dreidel, dreidel, dreidel
Sorry...
On the 12th day of Christmas my true love gave to me
On the 12th day my true love gave to me
12 drummers drumming like Olympus upon the Serengeti
11 pipers piping, 10 lords a-leaping!
9 ladies dancing they were dancing for me
8 maids a-milking, they were milking just for me
I had Christmas down in Africa
I had Christmas down in Africa
I had Christmas down in Africa
(5 golden rings!)
I had Christmas down in Africa
(5 golden rings!)
I had Christmas down in Africa
(5 golden rings!)
Gonna deck the halls and do the things we never had
Partridge in a big pear tree
Partridge in a big pear tree
Lisa Perry ...well, now , the partridge is in a big pear tree 😂🤣🎶
don´t ever delete this video please... I look it up every now and then because I just love it!
When they go into Africa and you're like..."aaaaaaaaaah".
When my choir teacher told me to look up this song as we were doing it for a concert, I thought it was going to be a boring rendition of the 12 Days of Christmas. That attitude disappeared about 18 seconds in. Now I am a fan.
this is literally brains after christmas music starts playing on the radio and you keep wanting to TURN OFF YOUR BRAIN
Still. After all these years. This still gets me grooving and smiling from ear to ear! This is and will forever be unforgettably and iconically brilliant! These are the little things in life that keep me going! Much love to Straight No Chaser!!
This is to date the best Christmas song I have ever heard in my entire life.
This will always be my favorite Christmas song.
As an FYI, I watch this almost daily. All year long in fact. Especially when I need a smile - works every time.
Watching this for the last Christmas of the decade ;)
we’re singing this in my choir for my school’s winter concert, my teacher played the song and i was literally crying with laughter over the africa section, because we did africa last year. it’s amazing. i love it sm.
Heard this song on the radio last year and had a blast with the replay button LOL. Love these guys, one Christmas rendition i never get tired of hearing.
I saw these guys in music class,
I THOUGHT THEY WERE AMAZING!!!!!!!!I loved how they did the melodies all together to make a beautiful piece of music.
Still my favorite arrangement of all time. It's been a while old friends.
+AJ Nujjet I just came back to this after showing it to my cousin's kids. Still one of the best christmas songs ever.
Still love this
I love this so much. Best rendition of the 12 days of Christmas ever!
+Cartoon High I agree i have been coming back to this year after year. its great.
+Cartoon High Same, I love this version
I love your song so much I listen to it about five million times each Christmas L😅L
Well this and Christmas can can lol

Straight no chaser
Anna Gabrielle What choir do u go to because my choir is also doing this
OMG IVE FOUND IT. I've heard this on the radio like 10,000 times this Christmas and I love it!!!!! This is amazing!
My mom showed me this a few years ago. I keep coming back to this every Christmas and I still remember the words 😂 one of the best Christmas songs
Watch this every year, and more of this group. Excellent vocals and timing. Not the holidays unless I see these great vocal performers and their holiday renditions.
No master how many times I watch/listen to this, I always laugh when the one man sings a nonchristmass song. Best video ever! ♥
EXCELLENT!! Being a singer myself, I can only say that what these guys do is beyond just hard to do and keep it all together. Great performance guys!
HILARIOUS! Heard this on the radio so... Why not search it?
Me too
got that right same here
Me too, and I laughed out loud in my car.
Amen sister!
+iluvkittys10 Same1 My radio station played it and I was laughing so hard! And I hate this song typically!
Truly one of the best straight no chaser songs
the Black guy that makes the Black power fist is my favourite lmao
Geez this video is as old as me! This is so nice to listen to in July
Who in the world doesn't like this?? It's brilliant, fun, & cheerful!
Every Christmas day I come back to watch this video, hope its up forever.
Love it, 10/10 would travel back to 1998 to see this performance.
This song always makes me smile. No matter how many times I hear it.
I need a full version of Christmas down in Africa
Maybe he's getting more recognition now, but wow, Walter Chase is THE man. The brilliance it takes to write and arrange the songs as he does cannot be understood by most people so they don't really appreciate it.
2018 and still fantastic, it’s always been my favourite Christmas music ever since I was a little kid and I don’t think that’ll ever change
This is my favorite of all their performances, definitely their prime here.
I heard this on the radio 2 weeks ago and it blew my mind. I found it again today thanks to youtube and it was just as amazing
This NEVER EVER gets old - LOVE IT!!!
So good! I listen to this every Christmas season 🎄❤️❄️🤣❤️
We just finished a run of five shows in California: Los Angeles, Bakersfield, Santa Rosa, Modesto, & Palm Desert
This is played every Christmas now and for always! Thanks Guys!
Just heard this on the radio and looked it up. Amazing.
natisinvisible I did the same.
My advanced men's choir class is gonna sing this song for at a town concert before Christmas vacation. I can't wait!
Wow, what a stunning original composition. It truly brings tears to the eye. Both eyes in fact
Brought a large smile to my old face. Creative, musical and so well performed. Only a Grinch would not appreciate the talent of this group.
Dear God! Why have I never seen this before? Why have I never heard this before?this is epic!
never gets old man, im watching this video exactly on christmas.. Merry Christmas Everyone
I just astral projected so hard my third eye opened
I love these guys. This never gets old.
This is still gold 😍
We had a concert at school and the guys choir group performed this, i had never heard the song before and everyone loved it, a girl in my class came in today and said she had found the song on spotify, love it
Every December I watch this several times and it always brings smile to my face. Love it!
Ok but I need to nerd out about this for a second. This might be my new favorite thing. It's chaotic, but still musical, all the musical timing and transitions are spot-on (ESPECIALLY the transition into Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer), all the COMEDIC timing is spot on, and HOW DO YOU EVEN COME UP WITH 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS TO THE TUNE OF AFRICA BY TOTO
Fabulous! Laughed so hard I had to listen a second time. SNC is the best!
This is seriously one of the best things ever hahahaha it makes me giggle every time. Love this group!
I remember being shown this around 6 years ago in elementary school by my music teacher....hahaha
Grace Chong i heard this on my radio
Grace Chong same here but it was about 3 years ago for me.
The whole performance was Hillarious. Laugh every time, they are so entertaining.
THIS NEVER GETS OLD!
@ 1:55 this song is getting ready to go off! @ 2:25 I get goose bumps!! Still a fav in 2019! ❤️
I love how this video is still getting comments to this day. Even with the updated performances of this song that add new dimensions of personality, dancing, and general fun, this original is still the best for just listening. Apart from the obvious, usual, and almost necessary compliments, I just love Dan and Steve in the group at the same time. The "superior tenor," and imo the superior baritone, as well. Not to mention Randy, the superior bass.
My mom played this song for me and my brothers the other day and I had to listen to it again. Such a funny and creative twist on a Christmas song
This is still my favorite Christmas song. It just never gets old.
We are playing Cleveland RIGHT NOW, at intermission. We have a 2nd show this evening.
my top favorite a capella group ever! I've watched all your videos, request you at holiday parties and blast you at christmas. I've started my daughter listening and it's become a tradition
This came across the radio at the day care I work at, and even before it finished i had to look it up on UA-cam. Me and the children(ages6-10) have watched it 3 or 4 times now, and I've never seen them laugh so hard. I will be getting this off iTunes. Thank you for making us laugh!!
I love when the one guy starts singing a Jewish song xD
I am singing this for my chorus! Its AWESOME!!!!
These guys are just very talented and creative.
I love this song after hearing it on the radio 2 years ago. I finally found the people who did it. Love it a lot guys. Keep it up.
On the 11th day of Christmas, my true love gave to me... *sings Carol of the Bells 12DOC style* ...3 French hens, 2 turtle doves, and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer 😂 lol
We have played Saskatchewan before, and I'm sure we'll be back someday!
Merry Christmas 2018🎄❄⛄🎅 I adore these guys so much. I literally watch this all year round.💕
Was a fabulous way to start the Christmas season at Midland Center for the Arts! These guys are amazing!!!
Still one of my favorite Christmas songs to this day.
They are amazing, makes the holidays even better.
