Saved this video as soon as it got recommended to me because I REALLY wanted to see what the thorns necro hype was all about lately. So I spent the last few hours getting most of the gear together (still not there yet, bricked about a dozen rings and two amulets lol) but I’m still very happy with how it turned out! Got me through a bit of a plateau in the pit as I was struggling to go past tier 66, I’m already at 80 thanks to this build. Once you get the skill rotations going it’s an absolute blast to play. I added in the apothic aspect for some additional uptime on the blighted aspect for more damage. Also, your style of presentation is top notch. Love how well structured this entire video was. Thank you for the setup and being so clear and thorough, you just earned a new sub, cheers!

Your video validates my earlier thought on the build so thank sir!!!! I’ve been able to clear lord zir much slower but I don’t think I’ll struggle as much now. Keep up the good work!!!! This is by far the best performing necro thorns build I have found online!!
Before I change my spec figured I'd work on the gear. Started with the head piece, affixes easily enough, total armor temper easy. I have 5 bricked helms trying to get "Golem inherit thorns". That's going to be a very difficult task getting that on all pieces that require it.
Yeah unlucky. I definitely suggest trying to roll the Golem Inherits Thorns first prior to the other temper as it can be a bit harder to get than total armor. I have bricked a few items and sometimes got it on first try. Keep at it.
Congrats. Haven't been able to find one for myself yet. It's probably the only Uber unique I would actually try with this build. Just need to give up an aspect for it. Probably two options to try. First would to be a straight swap for the helm and give up hardened bones aspect. Second would be to move hardened bones aspect to your amulet and then move blighted to your weapon and therefore lose frenzied dead which is not doing a large amount for the build. Hope this helps.
Very nice! Sadly I couldn't even find a Razorplate for my Barb LOL. Curious, overall how does this perform compared to Golem and Minions for the investment? From what I can tell the only requirement is Razorplate - so once that drops, does the build outperform the others to Pit 100? Is it HC viable?
The Shadow Minion/Golem builds have proven to push higher into the pit so far from what I have seen but there is just more people playing it as well. In terms of HC i haven't been playing that however I can't see how this build would be any worse on HC than the other minion builds I have seen. Obviously just need to be careful with how quickly you push content. Benefit from this is you will be taunting enemies away from yourself so it does provide a fair bit of CrowdControl.
As long as you have razor plate and some basic gear with the correct aspect's you can start. It will just need better refine gear and affix's to improve the build from there. You should be able to get 40k Armor and 25k thorns pretty easily and can get that a reasonable amount higher with the right gear.

@@NocturnalSilent In terms of Defence for you yes its worthless. However for this build you specifically use a bone goelm for you thorns damage. Its active ability turns 70% of its armor into additional thorns. It Inherits your stats so all your armor goes to the Golem and when this ability is use gives it more damage. So for this specific build the extra armor improves it a lot.
I was wondering what damage a Thorns Minion build could do, so with 30k thorns and the Golem at 108% I'm 1 shotting Beast In Ice when it drops, about 9,000,000 hit from me or the Golem, plus the hits from all the other minions, I can beat Tormented Zarshan in ~2 min, and currently at PIT 85, I had a near perfect Razor plate drop, no GA though, all my gear is at masterwork level 5 or above. Oh and I have Harlequin, Starless Sky, and Mendeln The game play is cool, you don't walk in the PIT and just run around and things melt, I'm actually using more skills then when I ran as a EmbinBlight necro. It's fun.
thorn necro is crazy fun, o prefer mages with and use blood golem for the 30% dr, mages have been fin from the start for me and ive been enjoying them. Thorns is crazy strong. nice vid
This build was focused on scaling the golem thorns. It can have a higher percentage and has the active skill to convert 70% armour to additional thorns and can taunt enemies so they target it.
Thanks. The Pants blood moon breeches ability is about allowing your minions a chance to curse enemies. Which is how you benefit from the decrepify and iron maiden skills.
Yes Thorns don't Crit. only helps with a bit of supplementary damage and not a lot else to put into. You could take the two points though and put into amplify and death approach.
Fun, different, and creative build! …but there’s no way in Lilith’s Hell I’m finding an ammy with HBC and Death’s Embrace (not Death’s Reach?) without 200M+ in game or RLM. 😅
Thanks. Yeah Death's Embrace not Death's reach. Seems to be an issue with the build planner not being able to pick it at the moment. However you don't need a best in slot amulet. If you can get on of those passive's & the total amour affix that will be great.

Do you definitely have you resistance capped out? If not do that first. Otherwise make sure you have damage reduction on your shield. Also make sure gameplay wise you are sending in your golem ahead of you to taunt and blood mist is great for dodging attacks. If you are still having issues with your current setup you could look at swapping the revenge glyph out for undaunted to give you some further damage reduction.
It's specific for this build. Your bone golem inherits your stats, hence your armor. Then the bone golems active skill converts 70% of its armor into additional thorns which helps create the big thorns damage.
Death's Embrace is what you want. Don't worry too much if you can't find an amulet with both hellbent and death's embrace though. Try and find one that has one of those affix's and it will be pretty good.

@@6no.407 Not for this build. This is a unique build that requires you to stack armor for damage. The reason is that the Golem inherits your stats hence your armor. The bone golems active ability then turns 70% of its armor into additional thorns which means a lot of extra thorns damage when it taunts. So you want to stack armor on a lot of your guild as shown in the guide.
I currently stopped at Tier 102. Definitely can got further especially with good gear. Waiting on some better gear drop's and testing out some different build ideas in the meantime
Maybe just bad luck for me - but most high lvl Pit Bosses didnt proc the thorns.... and without the thorns...gulp - very frustrating.... But as the Video said, seemed great for farming Tormented Bosses
@@spyk7940 Definitely excels best at farming Tormented bosses. Some of the pit bosses do seem to have issues with procing the Thorns which makes it harder at high level's if unlucky with the boss types.
I have actually just being using a sword as it had the best affix roles for me. However the crit damage doesn't really work with this build so ideally I would just go with the one handed scythe for the health on kill bonus.
As long as your not trying to push as far as possible into the pit it would be fine. Just means losing an aspect like frenzied dead in order to have space for the new ring. So will lose a bit of support damage from minions but will make it a bit more user friendly with the auto cast on the ring.
@@MidnightGaming247 okay thank you? was this before mid season patch or? cause the paragon board can be changed cause you need less opther stats to complete magic and rare nodes on the paragon board
I haven't had any this season to test so not 100% sure. Most don't look like they would be useful for this build. Only one that might be worth working in would be the Shako or Harlequin Crest.

Why temper for golem thorns instead of minion thorns ? Wouldnt that do the golem and skeles?

why do you need soo much armor , juggernaut on shield gives you over 9000. aint the cap 9300 ?

I can't find the Ranks to Death's Reach on the amulet. Does this mean movement speed?
Death's Embrace is what you want. Don't worry too much if you can't find an amulet with both hellbent and death's embrace though. Try and find one that has one of those affix's and it will be pretty good.

where are you getting Death's Reach at? it doesnt even roll on a neck, have Death's Embrace and Fueled by Death, but not Death's Reach...
It is death embrace you want to look for. Error in the build planner not being able to show it at the moment.

@melvinfeenstra7037 build was before mid season patch. So might be able to potentially make some adjustments as required.
