So glad you are doing a 68 350. I’m basically at the same spot you are. With my 68. Most of you videos will have me covered but your right 68 has some nuance. What do you use to get the real caked on grease off to clean up parts?
If it’s really bad super clean does great. But usually a hot soak with dawn anc a nylon brush will eventually get it.
Dude you are an absolute inspiration, the task looks really daunting but you are into it. Gonna watch every vid for sure, would love a sticker but I live the other side of the Atlantic in Glasgow, Scotland. XD

I assume this is the frame that was powder coated, what are your plans in terms of grounds across the frame? Sorry for the general question, I have powder coated the frame and all brackets now I'm debating if the Powder coat was a bad idea since I'll have to carefully expose & paint the metal in certain areas.
I’ll clear off my few grounding spots. Not anticipating any issues.

I restored my 1969 CL350 a year or so ago and I found That the Jeep color Hydro Blue was a real close match. The bike looks great but on a ride ran into trouble when one of the floats leaked and I barely got home. Been looking for replacement floats( they are the early ones, rectangular) if you ever get em in stock let me know. Good luck on your build.
Those rectangular ones are unicorns. Ever try later model carbs? I’m curious if those could work.

You are going to have to have some of those parts chrome plated. I bought a Caswell kit and I zinc plate all of my bolts and steel hardware. You can get better than OEM results. I even disassembled the wheels and zinc plated all 72 spokes on a 1982 KX80.
We’ll see. If not now, later. Need to keep this one friendly on the budget.
@@KeepOnWrenching the zinc plating kit will run you about $250. You might be happy with zinc plating some of the chrome parts. It keeps everything from rusting. I have a video on my page that shows the results.
@@Mr10usdad I’ll look. I have everything I need to do nickel plating. Never tried it though. Does the old chrome need to be stripped off first or can you go over it?
@@KeepOnWrenching I am not sure. I have not done much plating over chrome. Although I did zinc plate a brake lever on one of my Honda CT70 bikes.
