The regular are really wide,and the narrow standard. According to Birkenstock sizing chart with my measurements they recommended Regular size 9 43 , but when arrived I had to set buckles on narrowest position and after two days the stretched and were too loose ,I gave them to my Son and re ordered nvarrow 8 42 to fit correctly for me. Be careful different Birkenstock size guides are not all the same!
Note for help if you don't know what size to really get try to go to like a famous footwear or like a dicks sporting goods and try on the all black or what ever they have that is made off polyurethane or whatever it is they usually are like all black or gray or olive green you could go up a size if you want to wear socks or you could go down a size and they might be just right it all depends on your foot keep in mind that everyone else is a different size different width . So to be clear I measured my foot on a brannock device a few months back and it measured right at 9.5 and a D width . This was at red wing so with that information you can do alot . One my Arizona's do will a little big sometimes. Like if my toes didn't line at where they supposed to rest . Maybe I could've went down a size and it woulda been perfect but as you know feet do shrink and get big depending on weather and body . Thanks for the comments and questions.

Yes have to size down . So I get size 10 in most shoes like Jordans vans 9.5 chucks size 10 . On these I went with a 42 . My foot feels like it has a bit too much space if I don't wear socks . So I could've went for a 41 as well . I measured my foot from one end to the other it's like a 10.6 inches with a ruler
Sorry for the late reply I use a size 10 in men's shoes . I measured my foot and it's just a bit over 10.5 inches with a ruler . I got size 42 they fit with a little room maybe I coulda went with 41 but with socks that are thick
And how do the size 9 feet how much space do you have where you toes hit the front of the shoe by standing I want to say you can be a 40-41 . Mainly 41 if you want space for socks. I have size 9 in my red wing MOC toes boots and also vans sk8-hi and vans ultrarange exo se. The ultrarange they fit a little snug but that maybe the way they are made . Sk8-his fit perfect not tight not loose

Im a 10 or 10.5 and i went with a 43 and they like like a little to big i should of went with a 42😢

It all depends too how much space do you have extra if it’s an inch or less then one size if it’s over an inch and a half I’d go down two sizes down
