Sticky Shifter, Fog Lights, and Aux Port repair on a 2nd Gen (2005 - 2015) Toyota Tacoma

- In this video, I perform some minor repairs to a 2009 Toyota Tacoma.
I begin by fixing a sticking gear selector that had some coffee spilled on it, and while I am in there, I upgrade the little light to an LED.
🔧
Next, I install some fog lights and show how to use the factory harness from your Base model Tacoma, and add in a switch, fuse, and relay.
🔧
Last, I replace a broken aux input by popping it out from behind, rather than prying it out the front.

I stupidly forgot my account password. I would love any assistance you can give me!
@Zyaire Benson Instablaster =)
Faye is amazingly beautiful.
@Aaron Wolfenbarger right now it's 52 likes for her sexy ass versus your one shitty comment, so....... and I would tear her fine ass up if she let me!
I would have to see her totally without extra hair, and makeup to tell. ☺
The sight of you, your knowledge and your sense of humor is 98% why I'm here..... 2% for the cars...
Fluffy Toyota Chicken is a firm taskmaster! Always checking the work for quality!
Me working on my car + hundred degree weather = a whole lot of cursing and tears if frustration!! , Faye + hundred degree weather = an excellent and very enjoyable tutorial video. Great video Faye faye .
Faye, yet again I'm shocked with level of effort and attention to detail you put into your customer's vehicle as if it was one of your own! That truck owner is very lucky to have a mechanic like you around, I'm very jealous. Till I can find a mechanic like you, only my hands will be allowed to work on my vehicles.
Your attention to detail is part of what I think makes you an excellent mechanic! Nice work on the Tundra!!
Very impressed that a lady can get out there and work on cars and make a living very impressed
I can see you are a busy young lady. Love to see u on all girls garage.
Faye is my fav its the great info and the giggle just makes me smile and i learn something, thanks Faye 🌷
My daughter loves working on this stuff with me. She loves the smell of fuel. She is girly but she loves also the car stuff. You are a great inspiration Faye!
Thanks Faye, I have a 2005 Tacoma. I had taken it to the Toyota Dealer to do so recall stuff and the sold me on getting it serviced. Well getting it back the Engine Air box was not locked down which I caught, but they told me I needed a cabin filter because mine was dirty $20 for the part, $70 to put it in. They didn't change it, but a day later the cabin smelled mildew like which it had never did before. I watched your video on changing your Tacoma Cabin filter, I dropped the glove box opened the small door and found the dealer had taken the old filter out and left it empty (No filter period). I purchase a new one for $16 and a can of Air Vent Cleaner from a Auto Store. I was able to get rid of the smell. Thank you for making these videos. The Toyota Dealer was ripping me off and not even checking their work, which is sad because I will never go to that Dealer for anything now. Thanks Again for making working on these so easy. I will look in to getting the Fog Lamps and will check for the wires first. I will clean and lube the shifter, mine is getting to feel like it's binding a bit. You make it so easy. now I can show the old Truck a little love.
Nice work Faye... I like the way that you clean as you go. Going above and beyond is the way to go for your customers!🤘
Thank you for this. You have a very calm approach toward things I usually find really frustrating. Your videos are much appreciated.
I enjoy your videos. You make working on cars look fun! Keep up the good work and continue doing what you do!
Really enjoy your videos, you seem to be so patient!
This video just proves you possess two character traits that pair well with being a mechanic. You are patient & prefer to do things right.
I love watching this video. I love vehicles and am just so fascinated by whole process of assembly and taking apart to fix and work on. Thanks for posting!
Love your videos. Just watching your opening comments after watching some Bob Nelson stuff and I'm imagining him doing your opening... Anyway keep up all that great serious educational automotive advice. Thanks. Loving it...
Hi again Faye. Hey im 61, certified mechanic. I wish i was about 30 yrs younger, id come and find you. I think what you is awsome. Youre an amazing woman. Keep it real and cool. revved up yooper

Way to go Toyota. Kudos Faye for keeping it Toyota real.
Ordering factory overlay harnesses generally make parts people cry. 🤣
I love your videos, enthusiasm and positive energy. So awesome and easy to follow!
Thank you for reminding me why I miss bench seats and column shifters. Again, a nicely organized, tidy, methodical, execution of tasks and workspace. Most of all..thank you for being pleasant and patient in your videos. Best to you and yours.
I don’t have a Toyota but I loved watching this. I loved how you worked and talked to the chicken! 😀
Such a happy mechanic.
After working on a car all day and not having fun I had to end my day watching you taking things apart and putting them back together .
Great job. You added function and resolved two issues = : ) wicked awesome
Thank you Faye. So much useful information in this vid for me because I had recently purchased a 2nd gen thanks again great vid.

This was excellent. Very informative, I'm also glad you didn't break any tabs or plastic pieces. This is the good stuff. I'm learning from you.
Thanks Faye, that was a great help accessing my fog light wire harnesses and panels for the console shifter section. Keep up the good work, Paull from New Jersey
Awesome vlog Faye!!! Thanks for the tip. Love the led light! Stay cool in Texas!
Wow, beautiful and really smart troubleshooter here! Thanks for giving us the lesson! I'll be back for more.
She puts the change back. Good girl. Awesome video, thanks for sharing.
Thanks faye for taking the time to make this video your my hero! I might install fog lights on my Tacoma but I'll check if mine comes with the factory wires hidden like this one so I can use factory hardness and switch.
Keep up the great work! You’ve got a new fan!
Faye your one in a hundred million. I have a 2nd Gen Tacoma and loved this video, actually I look forward to all you videos.
Admire the energy in your how to videos. Amazing talent no less.. Keep up these great videos 👍
I know I've said it before Faye but you're such a breath of fresh air and what an absolutely wonderful personality you have. I watch all your videos because you always brighten my day. The world needs more Faye's!!! I would gladly assist you just to come away with a wonderfully positive attitude!!! You're my hero 👌👍😉
Lucky thing finding (or realizing) the OEM harness was equipped for the fog lights!
Thank you for showing me how to take off this shifter panel to get to the back of the auxiliary port. I am going to install the USB plug mini for my cell phone. Very good explanation of both pulling the panel off and doing the fog light switches will be the next project on my 2015 Toyota Tacoma. It was by accident I was thumbing through and saw your installation came up.😅
I have a 2015 4-Runner that was difficult to put into Drive sometimes, especially if it was cold outside or hadn't been driven in awhile. Once it warmed up, the problem would go away. Then I saw your "sticky shifter" video. Solved my problem... Thanks, Faye!!!
Great visiting with you!
Thanks for the video Faye, you got to love them Toyotas. And the shifter problem caused by improper vehicle hygiene, that is something I'll keep in mind on my older vehicles.
Great video as usual, you break it down so that it is easy to follow, an understand.
Ok, Faye, you are totally cool. Love your informative videos Best I've seen and really Helpful. Thank you for being you and sharing your talent!
Good stuff Faye! It looks like you really enjoy what you do. 😃
This saved me from further marring mine! I was about to take a hammer to it in frustration! Thank you!!
Awesome video ,very informative. Keep up the great work !
I found you a couple months ago. I like your teaching style. Its more of a 'lets do it this way'. Not a 'this is how you wanna do it'. Kind of style, if that makes sense. I'm a visual learner and it helps a lot. Keep up the great work!
Awesome, as I have found to be the case so far! I like that you replaced the change to it's starting point. LOL
Love the detail in your work and you show it also!!!! Great now I can do my fog lights!😜
Thank you! Fantastic podcast Faye!
Yay for Faye, love your attitude and talent! You get me going when I don't feel like wrenching on my Taco!
Awww, that is the best thing to hear!!!
Faye is my role model, and her chickens are my spirit animal.
Fantastic tutorial Faye. Your a great contact to keep in my digital tool box. Cheers from Australia

Awesome as always Faye
Great video, I tore apart my 2002 mazda B4000 instrument cluster to replace service lights, it was a lot of fun.
As always thanks for sharing Faye

Thanks so much, I'm buying a basic tacoma with no fog lights, and now i know how easy it is install . thats awesome !
plus nothing beats watching a beautiful woman work on trucks. can't wait to learn more from your video.
You really do make the best videos. It may be the laugh that makes it because you are laughing where I would be cussing.
Bless you and thank you as always for super informative videos
Uncanny. I was just searching how to replace the shifter bulb for my 2013... and this is perfect! Thanks for posting, you make things look fun and easy ^_^
I like the shifter tat on your wrist.. awesome video.. getting to work right away.. thanks..
Thanks for the detailed video 👍
Good info and demonstration as always 👍🏻
Great video Miss. Faye very informative.
I noticed those same wires hanging down near where my fog lights should have been installed (behind the front bumper). Toyota OEM switches last forever and are the obvious choice. Video instructions are very well explained. Cheers!
*_TRUST !!_*
First gen tundra rules! The gear shifter is by the wheel. What a concept.

You are amazing, I saw the wiring set for the fog lights but wasn’t sure if it was a plug in ready that I ask the Toyota dealership and was told I need a wiring set up
