At the end of this specific video you started talking about Rocks and sand. Where did that come from? I listened twice and didn't catch that analogy. TIA.
Thanks for watching, Renice! Thanks to Google, I think this summarizes it best: The analogy suggests that if you start by filling a jar with sand, you won't have room for the rocks or pebbles. Similarly, if you spend all your time on small things, you won't have time for the more important things. The moral is to prioritize what's important and make time for it first, and then fill in the smaller things later.
Thanks for the explanation. I was wondering the same thing! I thought you were referring to the “Big Rocks” as used in the Franklin Covey planner system from back in the day!
@@ginalee1010 Ohhh maybe they used the same analogy! I've heard it a bunch of times over the years but no one seems to explain or know where it comes from. P.S., thanks for watching, Gina! 🥰
I was super busy today and missed the live chat. I will go back and watch it. However I found the list of possible priorities. I thought this was great. I hadn’t seen a list that comprehensive. I wrote each word down the right side of my paper. Writing helps me process things. While I was writing I thought about how I felt about that word. If I wanted to work more on a word I wrote it on the left side of the paper. Reflection helps me there. I had more than five words. So tomorrow I’m going to focus on each word again and ask myself “Do I want to work on this priority?” How important is it in my life. Is it in the top 5 goal?? I’ll continue each day until I have the five most important ones. Moving to a Retirement Center is a major factor in my life. I’m looking forward to it. It feels similar to when I went to the University and lived in the Dormitory except everyone is old instead of everyone is young. I had been looking at the pros and cons for a length of time. They said I only had to commit to three months. I thought to myself, “this is doable”. Your list is great for me to process what I want my life to be. How will it help me have a more meaningful life at this stage? I’m 74. I thank you for offering to help us through things in a positive way. Mental Health is important but it’s expensive. I signed my contract for the retirement center yesterday. I’m committed. That’s one step closer. Thanks again. Janie from Oklahoma.
I appreciate your humor. 😂see you Tuesday night!
So glad you find it amusing and not annoying 😆 Yay! See you there :)
I would love to hear (whether video, blog or email) how people use their year at a glance spread.
Ok! I'll gather intel for a different video. Thanks for the idea!
