I can understand both of you mostly; my issue with understanding what you're saying is the echo/reverb in the room. There's nothing to prevent the sound of your voices reflecting off the walls. Other than that, this is really good info, thank you.
Wicked video girls, very informative, you smashed it! I'm going over to teach in Dubai from September, and this content is golden! Keep up the good work and more importantly, is the one on the right single? 😍🤭
How exciting!!! Have a great time and remember don’t have 1st world expectations on public offices and you’ll be good 😅. She’s @thelondoncurls on instagram 😊
I have a question for you. What is the average salary for foreign teachers there at public or private schools? And how much of that do they spend, you mentioned 5%?
Did you ever apply? You didn't give much information for me to answer. Let me know if this is still something you're considering (Sorry for the late reply)
LOL this video scared me away from teaching there! The "hands-on" parents and I'm calling my nanny to bring me my homework mentality would drive me crazy! Plus there is no tenure and they can fire you anytime. Thanks for the honesty!
it definitely has it challenges but anyone asked me if they should go I will always say yes with my whole heart. I loved it there and the challenges of school were outweighed by the whole experience and the standard of living you have xx
Teaching in the UK must be so chill...in America, there is sooooo much pressure on us to work past our hours even with a union, test scores and data are the priority, and the stress is immense. And we have unions!
Lol I wouldn’t say chilled, we have so much paperwork to do it’s exhausting but yea when it comes to timing they legally can’t ask you to stay they can just give you enough work where you don’t have a choice lol
i know im asking randomly but does anybody know of a trick to log back into an instagram account? I somehow forgot the account password. I appreciate any tips you can offer me.
Thank you so much for the video, girls!! I really enjoyed! Super fun and informative, just loved it. Thanks a bunch! One question: Are schools strict about taking native speakers only as an English teacher or there’s a door for non-natives (qualified to teach of course). ? Thank you in advance, would highly appreciate the answer 🙏🏻
Thank you so much for the information. Can you please tell me what salary to expect? If you are an english teacher, 5 years uni and 4 years of experience? Pleaaase need and answer, and also the benefits..
hey the salary really varies from school to school but id say try not to accept anything less than 10000AED a month. you'll get accommodation but will need to pay the bill that aren't that much a month. Hope this helps
Hey! Thanks for an amazing video, Can you help me, I'm doing a TEFL course but have no experience in teaching, Also how can I break into teaching adults rather then kids?
sorry I didn't reply sooner. let me know if you still have question. I have no experience teaching adults but maybe start with 16-18 year olds (6th form/college)
Sorry for the late reply. I only socialised with expats, but majority of people who live there are expats. My social life was better than back in the UK lol
I have a question. I am planning to enroll in education for a bachelor degree but I'm not sure if I am going to continue my teaching in the future so can I take business for a bachelor and still teach in gulf countries and get a good payment? also, I do have a TEFL certificate
sorry for the late reply. I think you can teach the subject your degree is in. I believe you could still teach Business with just the degree and no teaching qualification especially with the TEFL. Good luck
Hello dear I m Amit from India Please tell about demand of science math teachers. I have master of physics with bachelor of education .seven years of experience Thanks
Hey I loved the video. Thank you so much for explaining things so clearly. Can I just ask how many years of experience must one have before they can apply? Or can you apply with no experience? Oh and what type of degrees do you need to become a teacher??
@@1BrotherFromAnotherMother erm it really depends on the schools. some are more open to no experience but the schools might not be as good. Good schools will have higher standards
@Ameka Cowan well KHDA (the govt) have to approve your visa and I've been told your degree needs to be in the area you're planning to teach. to be honest i would just apply to anything you like lol the worst that happens you don't get an interview because of requirements no harm in trying though. Also a lot of jobs say what they expect...i got both my jobs on tes.com

I have a masters on broadcast journalism and have some teaching experience, I am also looking at doing a celta/tefl course. Do you think this will/should be enough? Just waiting until the new year and I can do the course in a month and hopeful move to the uae
Humour Liv hey, Do you have a teaching qualification? If you do it should be easier, I believe there are schools that employ non qualified but it will be harder
Guys you said that your accommodation was provided for? I'm applying with the MoE and they are not providing accommodation, the salary is 21,000 AED per month. Is that normal?
ExampleOfGoodManners it depends really, you can get a nice room in a flat share for are 6000 or less so factor that into it. Some schools might pay you lesS like 10000 and give you accommodation
James Grey thanks so much for replying! The role is for a business studies teaching role. 6000 aed permonth is approx £1200, isn't that super expensive? Also after considering the package I just described would you say the MoEs packages are generally not as good as what you managed to obtain in your contract or are they about the same?
Erm in my experience the students treated me the same as any male colleague. They are more comfortable speaking to adults than in the uk because they have moved around a lot but depends on the school you’re in

Hey James, I have some interviews for teaching jobs in Dubai in the next few weeks. I'm a final year student in the UK, If I dropped you an email would you be able to give me advice if the companies are good/bad to work for?
I can understand inspite of the accent, but i was curious if it affected your employment opportunities or what if any issues popped up in the classroom because of it. Would you say that there is any "standard" english spoken there or is it a nonstandard expectation since its such a cosmopolitan city?
Thanks a stack for this video. You two rock ! This video was informative in a diplomatic way that didn’t brush over the “difficult” issues 🦋
