I have the air filter, and did notice a smell. I purchased an air purifier from Walmart and it works great! I turn the purifier on and run it awhile before starting the laser. 100% knocked out the smell - and I’m very pleased with the results.
just viewing A FEW SECONDS of your video and i got a wealth of information that i haven't in the countless hours i spent researching lasers. even with professional reviewers with hundreds of thousands of subscribers. i just want you to know how much i appreciate your hard work and hope that your channel will continue to thrive. definitely liked and subscribed!
@@loriallberry7415 That is what we are working on figuring out next! 😀 We are hoping so! We can't wait to share what we find. Thank you for taking the time to reach out.
I don't find that the smell is that bad at all after you open the lid. Yes there is a smell but it's not overwhelming or that bad. I bought the filter with mine and have been loving it! Great little beginner laser.
Thank you so much. That is good. Does it change the smell of the room it is in? Is that the same for Acrylic? I do think the filter has helped. Thank you for sharing your experience. We sincerely appreciate it. It is helpful! Have a wonderful day!
@Flemingoriginals007 I find that it's the same for both Acrylic and wood. You can smell it a little bit in the room but it goes away after a few minutes.
My first cut was wood and it smelled for me. I have the filter and checked to make sure everything was hooked properly. I won’t be able to use in house.
Was close to getting the Aura - but I'm in large apartment, so the window deal is out of the question -- with neighbor's windows feet away, I don't think so. Thought the Aura filter was finally a solution, but for the price, replacement filter, and the fact that it STILL emits a smell when opening the lid, solidified my decision to stay clear of this. Back to 3D Printing. Thanks for your honest reviews - this is the info I needed.
Thank you so much for this info. I have a real bad problem with smells. I have been wanting this machine so bad. But I have no where to put it that is not around my family and pets. I really did think it was just a desk top model that could be used in any room. You have helped me more than you know. Have a wonderful day and keep us posted.
Thank you so much. If you do get it. I highly recommend the filter that has helped. Another person commented that they added a room filter in addition to the filter, and that took care of the smell for them. Our office still smells a bit like a campfire though. Thank you again for your comment.
The personal filter helped so much especially after we learned about the manual override, so it can do longer. I think an in-line fan would help too. We thought about the garage, but we were concerned about the winter months. We hope it works perfectly for you!
I too was disappointed that the Glowforge Personal Filter turns off so quickly after cutting. BUT! I reached out to customer service and found out it has a secret manual mode. I made a video on how to do it: ua-cam.com/video/--tR9m2tHb0/v-deo.html Hope this helps everyone!!
Thank you. We are doing our best to give a fair shake and hopefully help others decide if it will work for them before they invest but we will see. 😃 Thank you for taking the time to comment!
Yes it finally got better. I have it in the living room. I use a fan if needed.
That is terrific! Thank you for letting us know!🎉🎉🎉🎉

Thank you so much for your encouragement! We truly appreciate you!
What valuable information! Thank you! That’s a huge added cost with the filter I hadn’t thought of!
Thank you for your comment! We were surprised too! We hope people will be able to make money with it to offset the costs if they want to anyway. :)
That’s just it. Can you make enough off of projects to offset the initial cost!!???

Thank you for this! That’s so crazy how big of an inconvenience it can be to cut acrylic.
Yes, it was quite the surprise to us! 💕

@DarleneMcG We are working on a video about this right now. We are sorry that you are having that experience. We understand.

I will try the garage

What inline fan should I purchase?
www.amazon.com/AC-Infinity-RAXIAL-Booster-Controller/dp/B07ZL6FDYG
We didn’t get one but ThingsKatieMakes uses AC-Infinity.
This one is about $30.

Is it a diode laser
Hi, do you mean the Aura?
Yes, it is a diode laser.
With all the problems you've encountered and GF's poor intro of this machine, I'd return it. Very disappointing.

@Flemingoriginals007 Sure. I'm still waiting a year to see if the bugs get worked out and the price settles. 😉
That is fantastic! We really do think you are wise to do that! 😃
Honestly, It's almost like they are trying to find problems....LOL
