you sound a lot like me :) I started out crocheting, then got into cricut, then got a few different vinyl cutting machines (Cricuts x4 , cameo 4 , siser juliette, brother scanNcut) then sublimination and a 3d printer and a glowforge pro. I love all things crafty!
I did not buy a filter, just the external fan. I vent out my window. I've heard that the filters have to be changed every few months and the replacements are not cheap. Venting out the window is free!
What inline fan did you use? I don't see a link. I checked out the Inifinity based on your picture but that seems to be for a 6" hose and I think the Glowforge id only a 4" hose? I don't have my machine yet, but a Google showed it being a 4" hose.
If a drive motor should fail and the laser doesn't automatically shut off, then the beam remaining focused on one spot will cause a fire. Having a couple of fire extinguishers on hand is a necessity when working with lasers.
The Neiko calipers are actually good quality, being as accurate as a set of Mitutoyo or Starrett. The only downside is the battery will drain even when it is powered off, so remove the battery when not in use.

Thank you so much for all of these helpful tips! Just placed an order on Amazon with some of your recommendations.
Did you buy the GlowForge Air Filter or just the air filter you talked about? Thanks

When you engrave and paint do you leave the masking on where you painted or remove that and then paint?
Thank you! This is exactly what I needed.
Yesss to the needle pens! I can’t believe how many people don’t use them!
This was helpful. Thanks for sharing!
Are needle pens better than dental tools?
I’d recommend a fire blanket, not an extinguisher to prevent damage to your Glowforge.
That is a great point! Thank you for sharing!
You're back!!! 😍😍😍
