Crazy how I gave Mizuno a chance and now I haven’t looked at synthetics again. Nike and Adidas have dropped the ball letting go of their top materials(carbon fiber, k leather, amazing soleplates). If only they would have kept some silos like the adi pure line, the t90 &other lines alive then they would have never lost some of our interest. Mizuno however does have potential to keep turning tables. I wish they would innovate more ideas like the past morelia DNA, or the return of the wave cup line and make those additions to their line up. However, I respect their marketing by keeping it simple and reliable. You don’t get that no more from other brands, especially just luring you in with non sense technology or investing with big designer/car brands.
I have the Mizuno Wave Cup. It's the most comfortable boot I own together with the suppleness of its leather. However, the Morelia line is a bit too narrow for my foot shape. Hence why I always went for the discontinued Rebulas or the Monarcidas. Until then, the Morelias would be a pass for me

@@nonder92Japanese made things are “that good”. It’s to do with the craftsmanship. Every football boot I have bought whether it be adidas, Adler, ASICS or mizuno which was made in Japan is LEVELS. I just bought a Japanese bass guitar and again the standard of craftsmanship is unmatched.
Whereas Asics and even Adler boots are pretty easy to purchase from Japan for Americans (harder for Europeans, the shipping is prohibitive), Athleta remains extremely difficult to acquire.
I never see it mentioned, but maybe take a look at the "Mizuno Monarcida NEO 2 Japan". Not willing to fork over as much money and/or looking for something a little more durable, whilst being a sold all-rounder? - do it!
@@hamzahassan6315depends. The neo 2’s have a narrow toe box and the neo 3’s and 4’s have a wide toe box which is why I did not like the new ones. The neo 2’s feel like and Adidas f50/ mercurial but leather.
I just bought these exact ones from japan recently and after 5-6 times wearing them they have been great however the first time I put them on with their insoles the arch on my foot hurt so I had to change the insoles to superfeet which the shops in Japan recommend the Mizuno boots to purchase with. Really good pair of boots, 0 blisters whatsoever and doesn’t need to break in much at all however I recommend going half a size down
@@hakisan_ Agree about the insoles. Have high arch annoyingly. Any flat insole would do (i put the copa insole in there and it felt amazing). Disagree with superfeet, didn't like them at all. There's no cushioning

It would be good if you made a video covering them as there's little to no info about them on youtube. They seem a bargain and share the same k-leather forefoot as the neo beta's. It's a really gd good boot. All leather, full-length karvo shank, premium laces, premium insoles. Fun fact: in Japan, the Alder Yata has the same pricepoint as a pair of MIJ Mizunos, but when these boots are purchased from outside of Japan, the Adlers become cheaper while the Mizunos get their price hiked.
Paid a pretty penny for the made in Japan neo morellia beta 3 for my son, he didn't like them at all, he just prefers synthetic boots with a bare foot feel, he'd play games in bare feet if he could 😅 Me on the other hand, I love them, there so comfortable and feel quality made, and I've never worn a leather boots before that didn't feel bulky, but these don't! They feel sleek and nimble, they're really nothing like them
If he doesn't like them, it's his personal preference, use them yourself if you like them. Since he likes a barefoot feel, I think he'll really like wearing the Adidas Speedflow.3 since I also really almost to the point where I require a barefoot feel to play good, I've been using them for almost about a year now.
I’d be willing to bet the main reason your son doesn’t like them is because they’re not deemed cool enough as all the other kids are wearing speed boots from the big two brands. Just a guess though ;-)

I don't think kids care too much about brands these days, Back in my day, yes the 2 biggest brands were a major thing, though you'd get away with wearing umbro and diadora too.

Are they like the name suggests a test version of the Neo that eventually become the standard version? Or are they a separate line with slightly different characteristics? This has confused me for some time and I haven't been able to find an explanation online.
Beta version has a knitted sock whereas the Neo non-Beta has a traditional tongue. I think all other elements are the same, also depends on which country as I can't find the non Beta version in Europe
Hey Josh! Thanks for the video and for your honest review! I noticed that when you had the boots on, the end of the tongue beneath the laces was pushing against your foot. Also, I have a feeling that the red tip at the back may rub a lot against the area just above the heel. Can you tell us if you felt any discomfort in either of those areas?

I recently got an awesome pair of outlet boots. Turf version of the adidas copa sense .3 for 40€ and as i used a warranty claim on my puma ultra 2.3 i got them for free lol. The copa sense and copa pure .3 are basically the best boots for under 100€ nothing comes close. In the high end segment mizuno morelia neos and adidas copa pure are proper good copetition
I just wish it had more aggressive studs for FG. Got the beta variant of these and it doesn't grip great on grass if it isn't super dry. Feels more like AG boots tbh. Even FG tiempo pros feels more sure-footed to me than these on FG. For this reason also i don't know why they are called speed boots; upper leather also feels as thick as Rebula Cup Elite that i got - which i like - but doesn't feel "barefoot". For the record, Rebula Cup also grips better on real grass than these.
Would you take these over the Alpha's? I've currently got the Alpha MIj's and I'm on the fence about returning them. The Karvo soleplate isn't really doing anything for me, and whilst the boots disappear when I put them on my feet (They are ridiculously light, even compared to the neo 4 beta and vapor 15's), the heel lockdown isn't great and shooting with the boots doesn't have that ping I'm looking for. Only issue is I'll have to import the neo 4, but I'm looking for something a bit more relaxed than the beta's as I consider them game boots.
Not perfection for me -- I hate the bizarre fabric achilles tab the boots have had since Neo 3, it does nothing to improve the fit, I'm pretty sure it's only been done to take a few trivial grams off of the weight. You need to try Asics. They give Mizuno a serious run for the 'best modern leather boots' title.
I’ve got my hands on the Neo 3 Betas, 1/2 size down, and I have to admit that the heel is giving me nightmares. I’ve worn them for almost a month now and I have to tape my heel to avoid that rubbing. The heel is quite aggressive on the neo's. Maybe try the alpha's or the non beta neo's? The pro version I tried had a flatter heel. The Alpha's are extremely comfortble.
I and a friend have tried Morelia Neo Pros. It's not a bad boot, but for that pricepoint, they're not better than Nike Premier 3, Asics DS Light (non X-Fly version), or New Balance 442 Pros -- all of those boots have higher quality k-leather on the forefoot. The K-leather on the Neo Pros is disappointingly stiff, and the boot also wears out quickly.
MIJ Mizuno is on another level Being an old school ‘power boot’ fan, I grew up using Predators. When I discovered the Mizuno Wave Ignitus MIJ they were like that ‘old school’ predator power boot sort of feel Rubber striking elements, a little thicker, offering more protection (from those 0-35 goons ) and they had that hard heel guard a la Predator Wish I bought 3 pairs of the Wave Ignitus MIJ - that was the last premium; protective & ‘old school’ power boot which I just loved. listen to me 😠 because this is a mizuno video, people who clicks it generally have tried, and obviously loves mizuno. because after trying them, who won't. come on. but check out josh's "top boots" videos where he put mizuno with boots from other brands. observe the comments. you will see maybe one or two people actually acknowledging the quality of the mizunos. the majority will be clamoring for the usual nikes and adidas and pumas. the sad low amount of football players who have tried -or even willing to consider mizuno boots, is downright crime.
These are thinner, with a tighter overall fit and more aggressive traction. Basically a “speed” boot version of the classic Morelia. Both are some of the best boots out there, it just depends on what you like/want 👍
tried it, and personally i think, you should go a half size down, I usually wear 8uk 27cm, the fitting is perfect for neo 2, but not for neo 3 and neo 4, the new fitting for these new boots by Mizuno is a bit different
Yes. Most Japanese market boots (e.g. Mizuno, Asics) are intended to be safe to use on FG, HG, and AG, as hard natural pitches and cheap AG pitches are common over there.
They FG soleplate is fine for AG pitches with decent depth. Mizuno does have an AG-specific soleplate that they offer on some of their boots, but it's really only necessary for the extremely cheap AG pitches that are almost carpet. The studs on Mizuno's AG-specific soleplate are _very_ short.

I feel that Mizuno dropped the ball on the NEO IV by not adding the KARVO insert in the forefoot like the Alpha.
But i mean thats what makes the alpha different tbh.

They wouldn’t be the worst for AG. Most brands selling AG specific stud patterns are very similar to this FG design

tried it, and personally i think, you should go a half size down, I usually wear 8uk 27cm, the fitting is perfect for neo 2, but not for neo 3 and neo 4, the new fitting for these new boots by Mizuno is a bit different

Yes. Most Japanese market boots (e.g. Mizuno, Asics) are intended to be safe to use on FG, HG, and AG, as hard natural pitches and cheap AG pitches are common over there.

Those studs seem more AG to me than FG. I definitely dont get the best grip with them on FG.
for me there are ag cause there conical studs(circle/round studs)
They FG soleplate is fine for AG pitches with decent depth. Mizuno does have an AG-specific soleplate that they offer on some of their boots, but it's really only necessary for the extremely cheap AG pitches that are almost carpet. The studs on Mizuno's AG-specific soleplate are _very_ short.

A little bit but not by much. The new lacing system helps a little and there’s also an inner cage to reinforce the midfood that helps a little

I’d say it’s about the same. If there is a difference, it’s extremely minor.
@@M_SH-10 yea sometimes it’s hard for me to pick them over the alphas because of that. Even with grip socks, I can feel my toes moving around when I make hard cuts. Thats the price for thin leather though
