The first time I saw Halestorm, before their first album was released, Lzzy sliced her hand open and never stopped playing her guitar. She bled all over her guitar but never put it down and didn’t stop the song. She is a tough rock queen.

Ya'll should check out The Warning. They're a band that Lzzy raves about all the time and is in love with. Personally selected them to tour with her twice.
Lzzy aside, The Warning has been hand picked by GNR, MUSE, Billie Corgan and a list of legends to open for them. They've been deemed by many as the 'future of rock'. If you liked Hallestorm ya'll will def love The Warning.
She just as good live. The scream she let loose when they opened with this song still gives me goosebumps 10 years later. Amazing voice.

Halestorm is one of the few bands whose energy cannot be canned. They must be experienced live to really appreciate them!
My favorite Halestorm tunes are "Freak Like Me" "I Get Off" and as much as I despise GaGa, Lizzy Hale absolutely smashes "Bad Romance."

When they first started out, their father Roger played bass guitar with them, but then they got Joe Hottinger and Josh Smith to join them for their big label debut and their dad went to just support. I am in a FB group that Roger is a member of and he talks to us all the time. :)

There is no doubt Pretty Reckless has talent and rocks. That said, I'd stay away from them. Their message in near all their songs are super anti-religious. Don't get me wrong, I like Black Sabbath for instance. It's just so prevalent in nearly every single song they have, it''s like they are so agenda driven. I'll pass. But I admit, I didn't want too, they rock out. But there are plenty of rockers that aren't preaching non stop.
Side note if it peaks your interest a little more, the lead for The Pretty Reckless is Taylor Momson. You might know her as Cindy Lou Who from the Grinch...!

The Pretty Reckless are pretty amazing. Heaven Knows, Going to Hell, Follow Me Down, and especially House on a Hill are exceptional tunes.

A perfect example of how vocals can absolutely change the feel of the song. The song itself doesn't change underneath, but the tone is transformed by her voice entering the mix. I'd suggest "Eric Church - That's Damn Rock n Roll ft Lzzy Hale CMA 2014 (FIxed Audio)" as the one to watch...

Love the Female Friday reactions! I remember seeing this on your channel wihe you first released it. Lzzy is a great act, and an even better person. Last year I saw Halestorm on tour with another female band you might consider. The Warning. Lzzy even gifted Dany Villarreal (The Warning's guitar player) with a new guitar during a performance. Great story.
You have been Warned by CInema Codey. I think you will really like The Warning. They are three young sisters from Mexico (now 18, 21, and 23yo) who are bringing back a great sound to rock. I will echo many other suggestions of "Evolve" from the MTV VMAs or "Disciple" from their performance at Teatro Metropolitan Aug'22. These three are ballin' females who make hella noise.

Lzzy Hale is a Rock Goddess. Her younger brother is the drummer. I suggest I get off, Freak like me, I am the fire and Love Bites.
"I Get Off" was their first singe and a good place to start.
For harder songs, "Apocalyptic", "Freak Like Me", "I like it Heavy" and "Love Bites (So Do I)" are great.
"Familiar Taste of Poison" sounds like it could be a bond opening credits theme.
"Here's to Us" and "Dear Daughter" are softer songs, but are AMAZING.
Lastly, "Break In" featuring Amy Lee is a great duet with Lzzy and Amy. They also just announced that they will be touring together later this year. It's gonna be amazing and you should go if you feel comfortable with concerts.
They also do some stunning covers. Love lzzy.

Another song by them that's a little "softer" (for lack of a better word) and has that story telling vibe is "Familiar Taste of Poison". It's different from their other stuff but I've always really liked it as well.
Familiar Taste of Poison is one of my all time fave ballads. And the video tells such a great story.

Lzzy and Arejay started the band in 1997, she was 13 he was 10.
They have 4 records(currently working on their 5th) and 3 cover ep's to choose from next. First record came out in 2009
Well, their first major record label came out in 2009, but they have Don't Mess with the Time Man that came out in 1999, self-produced. Their dad Roger is on bass guitar.

I would totally suggest seeing Halestorm live. I've seen them 6 or 7 times, and they are absolutely amazing every time.
She says she misses the misery, the toxic relationship itself, but not the person she was in a relationship with. It's the screaming and yelling, the arguing and fighting, the anger and the sadness that she misses. It's kinda like a rush or a high that she hasn't anymore and she craves.
Yes, I saw someone talking about ending an awful relationship, and though they were glad they broke it off they still found themselves grieving the loss of being 'in' a relationship.
Also when arguing becomes a habit, that can be hard to break even if you leave that person

My favorite Halestorm song is "I Get Off" followed closely by their cover of Judas Priest's "Dissident Aggressor", then "Innocence". I've seen them live twice. They are awesome. Lzzy is a freak of nature, vocally.
I had never heard of Halestorm until yesterday. Somebody at work was telling me about them yesterday and what a coincidence that today I see this reaction after just hearing about them for the first time yesterday! So, it was a reaction for me too, and just like y'all, I thoroughly enjoyed it! I will be listening to more of Halestorm for sure!

Lazy Hale is FIRE 🔥🔥🔥. Halestorm just reaches out and grabs you like no other !!! So very glad you guys listened to this group. There is a duet with Lzzy Hale and Eric Church that I hope you will listen to. It is called "That's Damn Rock and Roll". Eric recorded it with his backup singer for studio album - but, he had Halestorm out on tour with him in 2014-2015. And that song with Lzzy's vocals is nothing short of AMAZING !!!! Great reaction choice you guys !!!!

I recommend next “Here’s To Us”, “love Bites (So Do I)”, and “Freak Like Me”. “Here’s to Us” is a softer Female Friday tune but I definitely recommend all of them. Miss the Misery is 2012. Agreed. I love the official video but it can get in the way of the meaning of the song. The live version really let's you get into the lyrics and shows that her talent doesn't come from the studio, it's real all the time.

An enthusiastic third vote for The Warning . Evolve is their latest song and is a headbanger as well. As Mark Bell mentions Lzzy Hale is a big inspiration for Dany, the main vocalist. Indeed they have mentioned they want to plan a tour together which I am sure will happen eventually once schedules match.
Lzzy Hale effing rocks and her brother, Arejay is the drummer. The song, Mayhem, is an anthem unto itself.
She is one of the most bad ass rockers of the modern Era but then you get to listen to that amazing voice and it's game over.
No one is ever truly ready for her voice.

@@melissagriffin9266 He loved it! He was grinning from ear to ear at every opportunity. That is one of my favorite performances EVER. I've seen Eric Church live 7 times and I hoped she would pop in on a show, but never happened.
She also featured on a version of Shinedown's Breaking Inside. Brent and Lzzy's vocals work so well together.

Lzzy Hale and her brother AreJay started the band with their dad, hence the name. You should check out "It's not You" and "Love Bites" for a couple more hard rockers. Amber, you would really love "I'm not an Angel", "The Familiar Taste of Poison" and "Break In" for some of their softer stuff. BOOMER!!
The live footage, the concert stuff, was shot at a club in Flint, MI called the Machine Shop. The local rock station were fans of theirs early in their career and played the heck out them so they had a good relationship in this area. I've seen them twice in concert opening for Rob Zombie and Alice Cooper. Love Bites (So Do I) is an awesome song. It's so awesome that another band named themselves LOVEBITES and they are an awesome all female metal band from Japan.

Lzzy is amazing! That voice, Arejay on the drums is killer too! Joe and Josh are definitely underrated! They rock! My husband drove me out of state to see them! Worth every second! Best gift ever!

Just so many great hard songs from them, and Lzzy is always a beast. Along with a sometimes raunchy vibe. "Love Bites:, "I Get Off", "Ms. Hyde", she provides the vocals for "Shatter Me" with Lindsay Sterling on violin, and also the best cover version of "Bad Romance" you'll ever hear.

When you're in an abusive/toxic relationship (this doesn't always mean from your partner...anyone period), your brain get rewired to need/crave...aka misery. That's why she missing it. Or how I would personally interpret her words. Been there. Done that. Best thing is run and never look back. It's kickass song and a trip down memory lane. Awesome!

Halestorm has done 4 studio albums. Lizzy has done a lot of collaborations with various other artists as well. Another excellent song with a good video is "I am the Fire". It shows the range in her voice, and shows off other talents like playing a double neck guitar
As many have said, Halestorm really needs to be seen in person to get the full effect - I've been going to concerts since 1977 and they put on one of the most electric shows ever. I think one that Jay and Amber would like is "Dear Mother" a pretty touching ballad done on piano. Lzzy Hale - lead vocals, guitar and keyboards, Arjay Hale - the beast on the drums, Joe Hottinger - lead guitar and Lzzy's SO, Josh Smith on Bass. It is a deep rabbit hole for their songs. The one that first hooked me onto them was Lzzy doing an acoustic cover of Heart's "I Just Wanna Make Love to You" - the woman's range is unbelievable.

I took an ex-GF to a Godsmack concert in Lubbock Texas. I dont usually pay attention to the first band but the girl on stage had this VOICE and the drummer was just going OFF. they kept pulling my attention back, putting on a SHOW. Been a Halestorm fan ever since

Lzzy Hale has a great voice. I've seen everyone in the comments have suggested the songs I would but I would also like to recommend the song she did with The Hu (a Mongolian metal band and another band to look into) called Song of Women. It's interesting how her voice melds with the Mongolian instruments and voices.
You guys have to go down Halestorm’s rabbit hole. Lzzy Hale is the hardest heaviest female rocker I’ve ever heard. The band has so many bangers featuring her power vocals. I would recommend “I am the fire” next. It will blow you away, maybe even more than this song.
IN THIS MOMENT'S "The Gun Show" is probably too hard for y'all. But, it grows on ya.
