These videos on this 2100 will give guys a lot of pointers for someone who never worked on one. I’ve worked on a number of these through the years and I think they’re a great carb. Also it’s big brother, the 4100. And it is like you said, a 2100 with two extra barrels. Awesome job Jeff and thanks to Cam! 🏁

Excellent little series on the autolite 2100! Used this to rebuild mine and get my 1965F250 running. Thank you!

Back in the day I replaced one of these with one from a '58 383 Edsel. Looked identical. Transferred the data tag. Throttle bores we're much larger, maybe 1/4". Had to bore the intake manifold. Dropped 1.3 sec in the quarter mile. NEVER got caught by tech. 😆😆

That plastic dog leg automatic choke cam is the earlier style one. Those break more easily than the later ones. The later ones are much easier to find than the dog leg ones. Gottafish carbs on ebay makes those with a 3d printer.

I have a 84 Ford F-150 XLT with a crate 302 from around 2004 with a Motorcraft 2150. It’s almost if not identical to this carb in your past few videos. I’ve given the truck to my 16yr old son and he’s starting to get it back up & running as it sat since around 2010 and I had it running like a top back then.
Now it barely idles, bogs down at part throttle and dies when put into gear. My son wants to fix up the old Ford and use it as his daily. I’ve saved all of your videos on these 2100 carbs so he can watch them when he won’t listen to dad on tuning or rebuilding the carb.

@@80sfordguy One of these days he'll figure out that Dad isn't as big a dummy as he thought. Hopefully you'll be around when that happens.

@@stevea6722 hopefully your right, I’m married and I’m 41 with 4 kids ages 16, 13, 12 & 8. The 12yr old and only girl will be the death of me if smoking doesn’t get me 1st. My oldest two boys are just as hot headed and smart mouthed as I was 25yrs ago, the baby he’s still a sweet kid 8yrs old. My oldest is a good kid and honor student so no complaints there but, his mouth and demeanor will get him in trouble if dad can’t show him the right way.

Kinda not related but one time I took a regulator in to be rebuilt and when the guy set it on the counter I said that’s not mine and he said yes it is. It was as shiny as a new one they had cleaned it up that good. I was impressed. 👍

The screwdriver for the main jets should be ground with flat, parallel sides. It's not so important for install but for removal it will reduce the risk of camming out the slots.

Hey Jeff and Cam. Question.....i have the stock autolite 2100. When the motor is cold, you pump the gas pedal 1 time to get some fuel in the carb, and close the choke. Yes? Ok. We agree on that. Good. Next, my car would not start for nothing. I ended up flooding it all the time. What i figured out, my choke was not closing. So, now i have to take the air cleaner off every time its a cold start, and manually close the choke. Then put the air cleaner on, pump the pedal for fuel, and it fires right off. As it warms, the choke opens perfectly. Are you still with me??? So, i took the choke mechanism aparts, made sure nothing was sticking anywhere. Put WD 40 on any moving parts, checked the spring in the cap, made sure nothing was broken or bent. Put it all back together.....same thing. Im about to throw it in the trash and get a Holley. But i would really like to keep the original if possible. Any suggestions?

This channel is a gold mine! I’ve watched a few of your videos and I’m gonna subscribe. I’m having trouble with my carburetor on my truck… It’s running rich real bad. I was high as a kite after driving it home last night…😂 Hopefully I’ll be putting a double pumper and a performer RPM intake on it soon. But I want to drive it now so hopefully I can get that 2 barrel carb sorted out.

Great video, I just picked up a 65 Mustang 289 automatic, first, it stalled on hard stops. While I haven't gone in and checked the internals of they carb, typically Ford installed return dashpots, what are your thoughts. Mine also has the fuel line go directly into the cast body, not sure why it does not have a brass fitting, should I install one? Thanks

    I wonder if a 2150 2 stage acell pump for a 302 would work on a 2100 carb???hmmm

Evaporust would work well on rusted parts.

VERY informative video. I have these carbs on two of my old cars. THANK YOU. Question: Is that .177 BB that you put into that vacuum port in the choke housing the means by which you seal the vacuum for the heat riser, as you mentioned in the tear-down video for this carb a few weeks ago? I presume that's what it's for, but I just want to make sure. I replaced the hot air automatic (original) choke with an electric automatic choke on one of my 2100 equipped cars and with a manual choke on my other car that has the 2100. Both cars and carbs work well, but I'd like to get them dialed in as best I can. Thanks again!

Do you have an image of the ford tool for setting the 29/64"? I might be able to mock something up as a 3d model for 3d printing of a tool

I have rebuilt my 2100 on a 65 Mustang 289 2bbl. Your multiple videos and links to NPD was perfect. Many thanks. My one issue is that the Spring that moves the accelerator pump linkage forward is loose (see video at 3:20). Thus, the arm doesn't move and activate the accelerator pump. I called NPD and sent a video, they agree it is the spring, but no solution. Any Ideas?

I just rebuilt that exact 2100. Said to be a 1963 version that came off a 1965 Fairlane. Running car and carburetor, but we rebuilt due to crude throughout. Mine did not have the plastic piece that inserted before the cone shaped spring seated. Curious to know is that an optional part? My kit did not include one and the little red diaphragm that does go into 1965 model 2100’s can’t be used on the one I have. Any assistance you can offer is appreciated.
