    actually the toes are "bbal kara", the fingers are "son kara". "bbal cut" translates to the tip of the foot, but I have never heard that term. "son cut" are the tips of the fingers though. ("cut" is where something ends, it can be used also to say something is finished or has ended)
    "Bbal badak" is the sole of the foot, the palm is "son badak".
    the strike with the knee is "morup chigy", sorry if the corrections bother you, I do actually speak Korean, I thought maybe you'd like to know these things.
    in ITF Tkd we use a lot of "old korean" words and terms which are not actually in use anymore or have changed in modern Korean, and many of them are incorrectly romanized in the encyclopedia because it's very complicated to translate korean to western languages.

      Thank you for your input! Great that you know Korean, what an amazing thing! :)
      Yes, you are right, I am using the old korean terms that are in the ITF Taekwon-do encyclopedia (how to say and write it down). I know that many places they only teach TKD in English, but I learned the terms and words in this old Korean.

      @@NoraTKD we always used the Korean names with my teacher here in Argentina, but it's when I moved to Korea that I learned the language and really understood the meaning of everything correctly.
      the problem with the original encyclopedia is that when it was created, they had to figure out how to romanize everything and a lot of Korean words can't be romanized exactly, also a lot of the words don't have an equivalent to translate to most western languages.
      so there''s a lot of little mistakes in the translation.

      Thank you for watching! We had to learn the Korean phases and words during the training, it becomes second nature after many years of training. My pronunciation might sound really bad to a Korean person, but I am trying my best! I use the romanized version from the TK encyclopedia.

  • @SadAndVengeful
    @SadAndVengeful 5 років тому +1

    Nora, I want to ask You something (sorry for double comment). If Your life was endangered because of some aggressor and it was life or death situation, how would You use Taekwon-do (what techniques) to kill him? I know You'll probably write that You'd prefer to avoid such "developments", but let's assume You had *no choice.*

    • @NoraTKD
      @NoraTKD  5 років тому +4

      You are correct, I prefer to avoid such situations and even then getting out of a situation is the best thing to do. Street fight is not martial arts. You use elements of martial art in street fight but that is a whole other thing. Honestly, I am not sure what would I do, there is no order but I do know that my instincts would work well and I would kick and punch as hard as possible to the aggressor's vital points (kick in the groins, solar plexus, knifehand to the throat, fingers to the eyes, punch/kick the nose/throat/temples). Also break bones, such as knees, elbows, shoulder. If the person is bigger than you, then you have to use techniques that are good against anyone, no matter the size. And you have to use your strength well (power, agility, speed and instincts).

    • @SadAndVengeful
      @SadAndVengeful 5 років тому

      @@NoraTKD Thank You for such a scrupulous reply! You see, *eric* (I'm stalking the guy, idk) said he has demons, but I'm the real demon here *:D* That is, I like to visit martial arts channels and whenever I find a noble person (you'd be surprised how rare they are) I'm attempting to break the limit, cross the boarder asking them "what if" questions. I just want to read how'd they react if they had "no choice". Provoke the Good, Tame the Whiteness. I don't know if I explained well my madness to You *XD* Anyways, my favourite technique, or maybe a word "trick" is more accurate, is weaken the knee. "Here! Kneel next to me. And there goes a present for your nose" *XD*

    • @NoraTKD
      @NoraTKD  5 років тому +4

      You are welcome. As I said, I do not condone any violent behaviour, there are always ways to get around it (for example, run away) and I do not know what I would do exactly but more than 15 years of martial arts training has enabled me to use my skills and instincts in difficult events. If it is just me, then I would just run away really fast, but if I had to protect someone that I love then I would fight (and then run away).

    • @SadAndVengeful
      @SadAndVengeful 5 років тому

      @@NoraTKD So, if (let's imagine and assume again) You had *a child* and someone was threatening him/her and You knew it's either Your child's or the murderer's life and more - You knew You have to kill him as fast as possible and be sure of his death, because failure or delay could endanger Your child... how would You do it? If You're (as You say) not sure what would You exactly do, then how do You *imagine* Your instincts would react?
