- Hello everyone! Today we are going to learn more about the ITF Taekwon-do patterns/tuls.
While ITF Patterns, assembled by the Founder General Choi Hong Hi, are but one of the many components which make up the composition of Taekwon-Do, so many of the technical aspects are contained within them, which makes them of paramount importance in ITF Taekwondo training. There are twenty-four patterns in Tae Kwon-Do. Each TKD pattern is named after a significant figure or group in Korean history.
The following points should be considered while performing patterns:
Pattern should begin and end at exactly the same spot. This will indicate the performer’s accuracy.
Correct posture and facing must be maintained at all times.
Muscles of the body should be either tensed or relaxed at the proper critical moments in the exercise.
The exercise should be performed in a rhythmic movement with an absence of stiffness.
Movement should be accelerated or decelerated according to the instructions in this book.
Each pattern should be perfected before moving to the next Students should know the purpose of each movement.
Students should perform each movement with realism.
Attack and defense techniques should be equally distributed among right and left hands and feet.

@@NoraTKD We met at the IIC in Manchester in 2017. Good to see you are still training and the best of luck to you.
@@robertmacgregor2575 Hi Robert! Yes I think I remember you! I always have a good time at the TKD IICs! I have been going to one each year, except this year of course. Hope that they will have them again soon!
Well presented Nora 😁
Thank you Robert :)
Do You know any other neckbreak techniques aside from the one You described me months ago? Or other lethal and advanced techniques than just simple kicks? If so, could You describe how they work and what they do?
I also wonder why do they teach you techniques like that when most of them are considered impractical and also confront the peaceful components within TKD.
Good question! There are plenty of neck breaking and other lethal techniques but they are not featured here and in TKD for obvious reasons. We do learn and teach them, just to have a comprehensive outlook but do not use them as they are really dangerous. I plan to do a pressure points for self defence video where I would demonstrate the various point on the body.
If You change Your mind You can always describe me how they look like and work here, in the comment section.
I'm looking forward for pressure points videos *:)* You know why I'm constantly asking You this? Because, like I said before, no one wants to show me in my city and when I'm watching all those videos on YT containing them I'm so curious of their mechanics.
I also want to study , can u please say what is the basic kick v want to study first as a biginer
Check out my video on my channel, I teach beginners too 😊 one of my newedt videos is the explanation of 3 basic kicks!
