Krytox is the industry standard for baseline rejuvenation and maintenance of internal seals and youre right, its not good for outside in great respect.
Great video thank you. Glad you went into this.
Thanks for one of the only “rubber specific” product reviews ! It really helps to hear your common sense assessment.
This was excellent. I was trying to decide between all these options people mentioned on the forums. Thank you very much for doing this comparison and posting it!
Appreciate this information, and production is much better than many videos on UA-cam.
Extremely valuable information. Thank you!
That is an excellent video, lots of useful information.
11:19 Exactly what I was looking for! Thank you!
Really appreciate the comparison of all the products ... most videos only show the use of one product ...
Thank you very much for an excellent breakdown of the the products and the effects. Very much appreciated. Cheers and stay well.
Thanks for a fine explanation of the pros and cons of these products.
303 blocks the UV rays that ultimately damage rubber/plastic/leather at a molecular level. I have used it every month on my wipers and they are still good after 4 years.
303 does not block UV rays. That's all marketing nonsense. Its physically and chemically impossible for a nanometer thin layer of anything including paint coatings to reject or absorb and dissapate UV rays. It's been proven time and time again yet people still gloat about 303 protectant for 20 yrs now..I don't get it.
Great video. Thank you very much for the comparison.
Love the Shin Etsu but the wait time is kinda of a hassle, but worth it. It's the best!
Local Honda dealers usually keep it in stock if Amazon has none. Might be a little more expensive but you could get it quick.
When you apply it to the door seals for overnight, is it ok to close the doors & wipe it down the next morning? What i'm asking is, will it mess up the surrounding paint?
Really nice analysis!
Great video, and information. Thank you. Take care and be well
Useful information. It seems that silicone grease is safe for rubber and plastic. But as a grease it can attract dust or grit
Thank you.
instead of silicone that has a grease i'm thinking you can also use silicone oil that is used for tredmails
I think we mentioned in the video that silicon oil works but is very difficult to control. It can get all over and is difficult to get off of seats, inside door panels, paint, windows, etc. Many of the products reviewed are recommended by the auto manufacturers for a reason. And with the oil you still have to do a final wipe down after it has set for a while just like with the thicker ones.
Awesome, thank you!
Very helpful!! thanks
A useful and important experiment for safety. It seems that silicone grease is the safest for rubber or plastic?
Thank you kindly for the comparison and your knowledge.
Stay dirty and efficient...
ATP-205 aerospace engineers useful rubber and seal life extender.
Excellent information, thank you... I have a question. The exterior rubber (or whatever it's made of) weather seal on my back window (25 year old Lincoln Mark VIII) has a couple inch or two areas where it's kind of worn looking, it sort of looks like it has a dry rash with small pock mark craters and such. Is there a way to fill that and smooth it out before I put on the silicone?
Much appreciate any advice you can give.
I used krytox on my folding tin top roof seals caused it to leaked like a sieve' cleaned it off and used gummi pflege and it cured the leaks' so that's what i use plus its easy to use and quick to put on.
I'd be careful using ALCOHOL to clean weatherstripping!! It will dry out the weatherstripping like nobodys business. Hot soapy water. Dawn diswashing liquid or Palmolive dishwashing liquid works great!!
11:40 dilute alcohol with 50% water. Straight alcohol is damaging to rubber weather stripping, wiper blades, etc.
Looking for HELP: if the silicone paste gets smudged on car glass what is the best way to remove it. You said its a mess but never said how to get it off.
Um maybe a paper towel. An old sock. Napkin. Good luck to you.
It's glass. Use literally anything
Acetone
thank you !
Interesting, but what about the old faithful, Vaseline? Cheers Graham.
Don't. Petroleum jelly actually damages rubber seals over time and it would also be a dirt Magnet and a sticky goopy mess to apply. Silicone grease or my preference because of application is the gummi pflege.
expensive but agemaster by Goodrich is the best
WHICH DO U RECOMMEND DUDE?
the german stick is what i use. I always thought the 303 stick was similar...but i guess not.
Also i don't think the 303 aerospace is the same as the one in the stick
Peanut butter just get a soft cotton cloth and rub it on lightly Great for rubber seals and plastic trim have used it for years
Alcohol wipes to clean rubber? Seriously not a good idea. Alcohol dries everything and will make the rubber fail quickly. Anything you add on top won't work as effective.
