I have this car in root beer brown. It's a truly beautiful car that looks current with the other trendy sweptback sedans Japan rolls out. When I wash it down in the driveway neighbors come for a close up look. I think it's an American cultural thing to acknowledge you neighbor's new car but the Taurus really draws attention. I think because Ford is pushing the Fusion, Focus and F-150 a lot of people don't know what a Taurus is all about these days; and they haven't been in anything like it. The cockpit never fails to surprise and impress. But as good as looks outside its a bigger treat to ride in it. This is a road trip car that'll glide smoothly down the interstates in not quite Lincoln luxury but still in consciously upscale quiet and comfort. I imagine the typical Taurus owner is more a creature of comfort than speed so the fact that the Taurus has a rather lazy transmission you can't rush isn't going to be a dealbreaker. I'd call it a family car but with a caveat. This works for a small family with just a couple of civilized kids. This is Ford's flagship sedan but it isn't a spacious Crown Vic land yacht by a long shot.
I Bought my Taurus New Last year & I still Love it a year later except mine doesn't have the lane change assist on it or the Sony stereo but otherwise it's a great car sad they don't make them anymore
Recently traded my 2011 Lincoln Mkz for a nice used 2016 Taurus SEL with the upgraded SHO rims. I found it with only 36k miles for $14k. Great deal! Lots of room, great ride, and very quiet. Absolutely love it.
I love the Taurus. The front is very roomy even with the dash, I am a big guy, 6'-0" tall with a average body. I test drove and rode in many of the Taurus's years 2010-2013 and I did not feel cramped
Buying a 12 limited AWD with 48k tomorrow for 11 grand, can't wait! I live in upstate NY, AWD, remote start and heated seats on a sedan is great! Hate SUV, truck doesn't fit in garage. Ty ford
Just if you know, this is an FYI to let you know what I think...this is the coolest Taurus I have ever seen in my life! The reason why I think that is because in 2013, Ford added full LED tail lamps and so much more to it I can't even explain!
I rented one a while back. I thought that it looked good on the outside, but the interior is a bit cramped. It didn't feel like I had any more room than in my 2009 Fusion. I was seriously considering this for my next car, but I think I will wait for the next generation and see if they come to their senses.
Hey Troy - I see what you're saying and here's my response. One - I really love the auto Industry and I think that most of the vehicles today are world - class - especially when compared to the horrors of the 80's :) I rent the vehicles that I review and I avoid the cars that I don't like. I also do this for the joy of it - so I'm not hyper critical. I try to point out the best attributes of the cars and the features that are unique and helpful. Thanks for your comment and for watching!
How's the leg room for the driver? Is it to tight? Where it feels cramped or is it spacious? Because I'm a tall guy, 6,3 and I am looking to buy a Taurus! I just want an honest opinion, because I don't wanna drive 30 miles and not able to fit.... Thanks!
And the reason I say this about the MPG of the VW BEETLE gas engine Is the average consumer thinks VW Beetles are gas misers. And the truth is they're far from it unless you get the Diesel. I LOVE THE Cockpit of the Taurus love the dash lay out and the flowing console. I know it limits leg room and space it but it does look very nice. Oh, nice hair cut ;)
I'm going to have to give this video from my BRO TONY 2 Thumbs WAY UP! I thought this was one of your best ever Tony! And I was nervous you weren't going to get the trunk in. You got in the trunk even LOL. Imagine this, you can have this massive beautiful car and get BETTER fuel economy than the BASE VW BEETLE. VW 22/29. Taurus 2.0 Eco boost 22/32
Is there anyway you can tell between the year 2012-2013 which would be the better buy? I am looking at both and my concern is the digital panel... and the back up cam... They are also both a limited! I'm more driven towards the 12, but I wanted your opinion! Thanks!
check out edmunds.com - www.edmunds.com/ford/taurus/2013/#overview-pod these are the key changes that they list on the 2013 Model: Full 2013 Ford Taurus Review What's New for 2013 The 2013 Ford Taurus receives a freshened exterior and added convenience features across all trims. While the standard 3.5-liter V6 is both more efficient and powerful compared to last year, the big news is the addition of an available turbocharged four-cylinder engine promising enhanced fuel economy. The high-performance Taurus SHO model is now available with a new Performance package that includes a firmer suspension, upgraded brakes and stickier tires. Ford has also updated the MyFord Touch electronics interface.
Wow, I am late to this party. Tony, I can see you were in 2 different cars. One has the full boat Sony system, the other has the mid level MyFord touch. What gives?
Alot of money for a car where the Sync System flakes out ALOT. Would be nice if they fix it but that meand everyone who has this system now will miss out. Still a good looking car.
I really enjoy your videos but I don't agree that they are "Reviews" they are more like extended commercials for the product. I can't recall anything "objective". Maybe your just everything you test drive. Again, I do enjoy your video style and humour - take care and keep those vids coming Thanks Troy
my parents have the 2010 limited AWD.... lol the car is amazing, lol although it has the ugly style of tail lights... the sync system likes to flake out on me ALOT which makes my eyes twitch, lol very nice car tho, got it to 127mph on like an inch of ice the first month we had it LOL
1/16/18, You'll still be able to get one, it'll just come from China---like a lot of other stuff (chances are your computer came from there, too). I have a 2015 LTD/awd, pd4 w/17k miles. My dealer emails me an offer to trade @ $3k above book-----not today. If it's worth anything I'm going to get the value out of it. They should've kept the 2010--2017 basic design, that way there's less retooling & you tweak the same basic model which makes for a better product. That's why the VW beetle was so successful. A kid working an after-school job could save his nickels & buy one. I added a trailer hitch on the Taurus.
Preston Weiters Jr. Cars are not computers, you can't just bring one over and start driving it. If it was not produced for the US market, there is an extremely lengthy process you have to go thru to show it conforms to American environmental and safety standards, and if it doesn't, you have to make it conform. It's honestly not even worth it. Even if it's a Ford, Ford likely only met Chinese requirements, which are nowhere near as stringent as US requirements.

Getting my 14 limited (loaded with all the options) and leasing for 230 a month with 15k miles a year. A deal I couldn't refuse.
sweet!
FFWD to 4/4/18, I have a 2015, 3 years now, purchased new. What are you driving now?

I love my 2013 Taurus.Fun to drive,everything works fine.
+Rodrigo Rodriguez it's a very smooth ride! thanks for watching!
Beautiful car. These cars are rock solid. My 2013 taurus gets 32mpg .
I rented one a while back. I thought that it looked good on the outside, but the interior is a bit cramped. It didn't feel like I had any more room than in my 2009 Fusion. I was seriously considering this for my next car, but I think I will wait for the next generation and see if they come to their senses.
ebob1967 I would agree with waiting - it's due to get an upgrade soon and Ford is really doing some great things lately!

Nice car! Though I'm not a fan of that character line on the rear quarter panel-looks like someone backed into ya!
Still get compliments on my 2013 Ginger Ale Limited. But then it is the same as a 2019 Limited!
It’s a smooth ride. Love it for long drives!
@@averageguytested And get near 30 MPG if I can keep it under 70MPH, which is hard with all that power!
it's a little puffy - indeed! The current Jeep GC has the same detail - looks like it was smacked as you approach it! Thanks Brooks!
I have a limited Ford Taurus to it is amazing I wouldn't trade it for anything
+Ashanti Shannon awesome!

How come you said you have the pushbutton start but at 4:35 you can clearly see a key in the ignition?
yeah and at 2:35 you can clearly see the push button start
I must agree, I went to take a look at the 2013 Beetle and i was shocked, I said that the window sticker must have been printed wrong.
And the reason I say this about the MPG of the VW BEETLE gas engine Is the average consumer thinks VW Beetles are gas misers. And the truth is they're far from it unless you get the Diesel. 4/4/18, Can you tell me what those bottom lamps are for, since it has no DRL? I have a 2015. Thx..... ;)
You can get your dealer to turn on the DRL Like I did. Don't know why Ford doesn't do this as standard.
I would too! :) can't wait to get my hands on that one!
I know the Beetle is surprising not great with the MPG - but I love it anyway! Thanks!

It's rare - you haven't seen my review of the FIAT 500 have you? I'll send you the link
I'd love to see your review of the new Fusion.

+theMediaMart just to be sure... would chevy impala would have been a better choice or i have made a right decision...
both are good choices - but i like the driving dynamics of the Taurus much better than the impala sheri22
Did you at least get it with a sunroof
Great review! I found one from Carmax for 24,500 with 9k miles. It's taking a lot to not drive over there right now after this. lol

verey nice
What really sucks is that the next generation Ford Taurus is going to China and not to the US :(
+Michael Gwisdala that does suck - unless you're in China! :)
+Michael Gwisdala did they get the Ford Ranger too?
+theMediaMart I do not know...
