This remote controlled Lego car is independently capable of adjusting the height of the car, both in the rear and the front. It uses a total of 4 motors, 1 battery box and 2 ir remote controlles to drive the car. The car drives by 1x Lego XL motor, and steers through a servo motor. The adjustable height is independently driven by 2x M motors, through a clever mechanical design.

It would be interesting to see a pneumatic adjustable suspension.
I did that about 30 years ago on a 8865... great times... :)
Mechanical or adjustable pneumatic is the real question... having an individual compressor and pump per axel to control exactly where/when you want the height.
*mechanical pneumatic adjustable or etc.
@@marcovimercati393 Grande! :) I made a fully active suspension system almost 35 years ago, with 1st gen lego pneumatics and a rough lego pump compressor.
It had a kind of mechanical level sensor acting on the pneu valves, modified to move more smoothly.
Great times, indeed! :)
I did
I love how compact that mech is damn!
Really nice vid!
i though u were dr engine then lol
I appreciate you linking the steering wheel up to the steering assembly, nice little attention to detail
official sets do that too but i personally prefer hog steering as it makes the set easier to play with
(that's right, i play with my lego instead of just building it and letting it rot on my display)
it's the standard nowadays

The more complicated a Lego mechanism is, the better it looks on video.
Pretty damn cool how you made such a complicated mechanism able to lift the entire RC vehicle, all while making it somewhat resemble a real car. Can't wait to see what you'll come up with next. The only idea I can suggest is an RC 4 door car with a motor that lifts the rear wing up and a motor that opens all doors and the front cover so you can see the engine.
Also, from your demonstration it seems like the front suspensions don't lift as much as the rear. Am I seeing something wrong or is this true?
Thanks mate, and you are correct the front suspension does have smaller range of motion than the rear suspension. The mechanism is the same but the rear uses 5 stud long beams in the suspension compared to the 4 studs in the front which results in the height difference :)
@@brickbuilds101 It's not a significant height difference in the end. If it was intentional, personally I'd put the 5 stud long beams forward so the car can climb slightly taller surfaces. Any benefit of putting them on the rear or is it just how the design turned?
The front suspension was build first, and without the axels, needed in the rear, I got more space in the middle by making it 4 studs long. That's why the worm gear in the front is a bit more in the middle compared to the back. When I started working on the rear suspension I realized the beams had to be 5 studs long, to get the space for the 2 universal joints in the drive axel. Which resulted in the rear being a bit bigger and the worms gear a bit more "out" from the middle. I ended up liking it, because it gives some sort off realism when the car is aggressively angled forward, like ind real life on som cars.
@@brickbuilds101 I like it in that sense a lot. Can't wait for your next build!
Yes it looks better the more complex it is, but when it comes to smh that’s gonna be used (almost every day) like a RC car. Simple is a better option unless you know absolutely that you won’t be out somewhere and it break
Holy carp, that’s incredible
Holy carp 💀🐟

Love the way you edited the moving parts for specific systems by colour.
Would definitely be interested to see how you could recreate this to work like actual air ride suspension.
This was awesome to watch regardless!
It‘s pretty easy to built air ride using lego hydraulics.
This is actually extremely impressive. Video is great and so is your creativity 👍
I would love to see some wheel arches on this but this built is so good!!!
Love the color filters you placed on the parts to better highlight different subsystems. Hugely adds to the overall video quality!
Much appreciated!
Amazing. Nice job dude!
AMAZING!
I really enjoyed this video so much, amazing mechanism
Nice car. It looks and works great.
Nice video!!
Rotating steering wheel is a nice touch. Great car!
This is amazing.
Well done man👍
Amazing Work!!!
These Lego asmr engineering type videos are pretty epic
This is so dope!
I don't think there's ever been a set with adjustable suspension to my knowledge
really impressive
I think there was only one but I can’t think of it
The adjustable suspension lego has made isn’t as complex as these ones and it’s in set 8297 technic off-roader
@@CSL22199 ah, good to know
There was a lego technics offoader set (forgot which one) that had height adjustment in it. It was a very neat system
The 8297 Extreme Off-roader 2 from 2008 has height adjustable suspension out off te box.
He has an air suspension in his lego car, good innovation 😁👍
Nice!
Nice job mate
Thanks 👍
You make wonderful models, especially the work of the lifting suspension.
But I would also like to see small models with a working independent suspension drive and steering. Thanks!
Finally FULLY accurate stance car
NICE CREATIVE
I really like your channel and lego in general, but I don’t do engineering and every time I watch one of your videos, it’s just fun when my mind just instantly breaks.
You should add fenders. Good build!!🎉
I don't understand how u teach urself to put the right peices in right spot?? Very cool ur talented
We need this on Lego ideas NOW
Nice video tks you
Damn
Dud is amazing
That would be great if you sell these lego kits with a bit more detailed video about the assembly. I liked this one soo much too!
Super awesome build! brings a ton of questions to mind!
When raising and lowering the rear suspension - Is the camber on the rear tires changing as well?
Is this a similar mechanism (including the suspension mechanism ) to what hyper/super/sport cars use to raise the front for going over bumps etc?
What happens if you keep pushing the height adjustment motors once at max/min height? Do the gears skip or do the motors lock out and stop?
If its the second one... could a type of clutch be added that is strong enough to engage with the torque needed to lift the car but will slip once going over the threshold at max/min height?
looks interesting to build!
Do you have any guide on hands you can share or at least a 3D model ?
thanks
give that man a job
Cool.
Never in my life seen a Lego vehicle rc car on bags 😂😂😂 good job
I used to have a truck like that in high school!
Looks amazing! I was wondering about a possibility to make the suspension stiffen once lowered - if you put a second set of suspension fixed to the car body, as the car lowers and the fixed suspension gets compressed, could this make the suspension stiffer🤔just an idea😁
That back end be CHONC
90s pushrod suspension with camber would be cool
thank you, will try on an F150, chap anylevel lift kit!
Lego Air Lift!! :D
LEGO will now make an official set with this concept!!
For the first mechanism it would have worked better if you had the linear actuators connected to the frame rather than the opposite side. It would have been a lot less loose.
very nice 👍
dude please make the adjustable suspension on a trophy truck that would be awesome
Man. Trophy truck isn't supposed to be stanced but.... i actually don't think that it would bad
Do you have any instructions for this set?
WOW!
It looks so cool it looks like it’s on air suspension
It's amazing👍😍🤩
air suspension but mechanical.. wow :O
Seriously impressive. How is the steering angle affected?
Cool..❤❤
As a child I built a similar vehicle, but with hydraulics instead of gears. I used parts from a F1 car, a pickup truck and a truck with hydraulic arm.
Oh man you missed the opportunity for an air suspension.
But again, an amazing build❤
Just a question how in the world are you this good at building with just Legos
@4:48 the colors were a nice touch
you cold replace the normal shock absorber 6378480 with a small Pneumatic cylinder 4625540 and ditch the whole lifting and lowering mechanic and use different pressure for different ride hights and stiffness off the suspension. i would really appreciate if you could make that
Can you tell me where I can find the building instructions? The car is sooo perfect, please?
Nice Work! I love it, have you made any separate manual for a offer in which you sell it with the parst requried?
motorized shopping cart! :D
Hear how serv stalls - may be manual control for steering need adjustment
Where in the world do you get the engineering skills to pull this stuff off?! Yet alone, manipulating Lego’s to get it done? AMAZING! 😳👊🏽
Ik the purpose isn’t really for this but if the system could individually control each wheel and you had it setup to the Lego program app you could make a fully Lego built active suspension system and program it for stuff, it would take way more work than I could imagine but that would be sick, just like f1 back in the days 👍👍👍
Definitely would be cool but there’s probably far too much latency to compensate for to replicate true active suspension
Hi, use this mechanism to make active suspension tank like STRV tank destroyer
wow
FIA : "wow that's cool" *bans it
Bro made a storm chaser
Love your videos.
Where do you buy parts?
Next challenge: pneumatically assisted power steering?
Wicked! Now a Chevy Bel Air body and then sell the whole thing to Cada. At least with them you have the possibility that it might be realized.
actually a good and true idea!
This type of suspension is perfect for a rat rod
bro i have an idea what u should build next
build a nas car and make it go really fast
Didn’t think id see a lego car on bags 😂
Seria legal colocar essa suspensão ajustável em um kit lego land Rover Discovery 3
Clearance adjustable. Shock travel remains the same.
What would this type of suspension be called, where the control arm has it’s own control arm
Bro was trying so hard not the breathe when he was showing the second version😂😂
mcpherson strut could be simpler than multi link
ok i just need to know how you dont have a million subs yet
Im new, but hopefully I can reach it in the future!
wish I had the pieces to build this
What about jumping suspension car ?? Like a car that can jump
make a lowrider please :D
It's amazing !!! How long it takes to create such a project ?
This car took about 2 months to complete
It would be cool if it could go higher
And I WISH there was a book or something that teaches you what the name of peices are and what they do and all that?!
bro bagged a lego car...
but also, fucking awesome build
Tesla already figured this out but not in Lego! Good job 👍 👏
Do a model with all this tech and put a rc gasoline engine on it, with a live camera and let’s gooo
Bro just made the new air bags for lego 💀💀💀
hi i have a challenge for you.
You need to convert the 42110 set so that it has:
- Adjustable Suspension
- It was remote controlled
- had working lights
And make an instruction in the form of a film or a simple paper/electronic manual
and a list of needed items
and it's supposed to be fast
Now make a chevy lowrider with this
hmm i would love a lego lowrider
