Emirates President Says Airbus A350 Engine Is ‘Defective’
Вставка
- Опубліковано 15 лис 2023
- Tim Clark, President of Emirates, alleged that the engines of the Airbus A350-1000 are defective. He cites this as the reason why the airline did not acquire the aircraft on top of its orders during the first day of the 2023 Dubai Airshow. The executive plainly stated that, when it comes to the A350-1000, the Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97 is quote “not doing what we want.”

The new background music is incredibly distracting, and makes listening to the narrator almost impossible for me
Where’s the data to support the “defective” claims?
They want lower prices. It's like Ryanair threatening to buy Airbus. It's the presales courtship dance.
@@BigWhoopZHcould be
He literally has 2 neighbours with experience on the A350-1000
In your head
Nowhere. Just another bunch of 🐐 molestors lying through their teeth.
I recall Rolls-Royce also had issues with Trent 1000 engines installed on 787s.
For 3 years
HUGE issues. Also having some issues with the 330 NEO engines not meeting performance specs and time on wing.
There are no issues…..
@@chrispaw1 Care to cite your claim?
The 787’s were literally prevented from doing certain ETOPS flight because of unreliability issues.
Who else prefers the old background music?
Yep
I prefer no background music.
Data to back this claims? Most probably he can't obtain de price he wanted and now it's time for the excuses.
IMHO, Rolls-Royce have always built the world’s finest aero engines. No doubt the XWB97 will benefit from Ultrafan technology in the same way that Trent hardware helped to transform the RB211-524 engines on the 747.
*sad Trent 1000 noises*
You must be British
Why would RR be better then GE or P&W ? What stats do u have to base your statement on ? The issue has cost Airbus orders for 90 jets . RR admitted already they will improve durability of the xwb97 in order to sustain hot temperatures . Typical English self indulgence .
... You done throwing mud?@@wengelder9256
Very observant Sir Tim Clarke, I never realised the engine was that far forward., now I am looking at it. Also less cycles means more down time.
Then why don't your neighbor, Qatar Airways and Etihad Airways, complain about the Trent XWB-97?
Everyone won't complain at the same time fool.
Issue is the XWB-97 are wearing out much quickly than expected in the hot sandy middle east desert.
Qatar airways have experienced this very same thing , difference is they did not make it public like emirates
Yeah true... Look at the profits and you'll figure out why Etihad and Qatar are behind Emirates.
Where do you think he got the information on poor performance from?
Cause they already have those phones and it’s awful optics to publicly complain about serious stuff like engines PR wise. Complaining about paint jobs is less serious & maybe this was what the real anger was about
Sounds like something Rolls Royce will have to pay Airbus for the damage they have caused
2:33 I think you mean October.
Please bring back the old background music
simple: Qatar wanted Airbus to pay for their "covid immobilized" A350, Emirates want to buy some "on the cheap"...
later airbus make a380neo with a35k engine, then they wanted to buy it LOL
Your background music is too loud and doesn't fit the story at all
Its time GE steps in with their engines
Music: Wehrmut - Godmode
He doesn’t know wth he’s talking about, if that were the case, Ethiad wouldn’t have ordered it.
No they are not. They just didn’t get the price they wanted plus having the fabulous 1000 variant is simply too much in addition to the 777X
Yes, they are.
I guess they will order the A350-1000 the moment R&R is agreeing to terms. What is foggy for me is the delivery schedule for the newly ordered 777X. This order looks almost like United's order for the A350-1000.

🙄.. Meaning... "more discount please.."
😒
It’s a strange falling out between STC and RR considering the backhanders likely paid after ordering so many A380’s with RR engines.
😅 I think certain clocks remarks about the A350 1000 engine the xw is in I think it is wrong because he doesn't clean any know what he's on about because when he hasn't even tried the engine he won't go for the A350 1000 I think he's entirely wrong
Wow
He is not lying, he is telling the "Truth" 😉
Sorry but that's pure nonsense what he said. The Trent XWB rarely ever had any problems.
I hope Emirates will get the A350-1000 soon.
Especially when GE9X was one of the reaons why 777X has been late.
@@steinwaldmadchen the pandemic was the main reason - when the GE9X goes into service, it'll put any RR product to shame, just look at how much more reliable the GE90/GEnx is than any Trent. Trent 1000 anyone?
No one said the XWB had any problems , it just requires more frequent shop visits than expected
@@steinwaldmadchen6% more efficient than the XWB
@@mmm0404 Sorry but everyone else have chosen A350-1000 instead, including Qatar and Qantas who are going to fly ridiculously long routes. 777-8 is essentially another Emirates plane at this point.
The 20t+ higher weight on 777X side is always going to put itself into disadvantage.
They are trying to get it cheaper.
Who is defective ser?
Those are some fighting words.
Reminds me of the A330 MRTT Scandal
Not just rr engines but p&w engines are not upto mark ...
GE for the win 💯
Now placed order for 15 a350-900
777-9 is the main reason

You're welcome
I will believe Tim when A350s start having in-flight shutdown like the GTFs of PW.
Do you know the difference between engine failures and maintenance intervals? That is one of the dumbest comments here...
There's more to it than meets the eye..
I think the corrosion/cracking problem really soured the Trent/RR engines. Pratt and Whitney are not without their issues.
Most passengers are ignoring about the engines carrying them place to place.
Great first qatar with they're copmlains now emirates 😑😒.
Trent XWB will be replaced by the UltraFan to power A350neo anyways, Emirates is holding off for the newer and better Neo anyways!
They just want lower prices
How can Tim Clark allege that? They didnt/dont have any Airbus A350-1000 aircraft in their fleet. He is just bullshitting.
A350 is that good buy it
Cannot airlines and manufacturers choose the desired engine?
Not on the A350
Not on the B777X either.
tim clark must be related to akbar al baker. Let's wait for etihad to complain.
Strange, Emirates just buy's 50 Airbus 900 at the Dubai airshow.
15 ..
65 total, 15 of which was ordered at the Dubai airshow @linkcenter
He is complaining about the a350-1000 variant engine. Only the a350-1000
Emirates should have just sayed with Boeing and never gone with Airbus except for the a380 777x way better
The image in the mirror, staring to cracking out...
Rolls Royce had to pay penalties to Air New Zealand for substandard engines in the past.
The RR Trent engine grounded many Boeing 787 Dreamliners belonging to many airliners.
Now some of these airlines are moving away from RR engines and switching to Generl Electric for GE engines on thier future 787 deliveries.
Rolls Royce should STOP building civilian airline engines.
emirates order 350
777x is the future..
Yeah well into the future give it another 4 years before it goes into service.

Engine shutdowns: let me introduce myself
I think they should order this aircraft alongside the Airbus A330-800 and A330-900 to meet passenger demand, to cater the airline's long-term growth, and to make its fleet one of the greatest in the world.
Who cares, I don't have any A350. Are my thoughts.
why only make slander against Airbus aircraft? boeing aircraft deserve most of ridicule
Amen..he's the new al Baker
I’m pretty sure he did, he expressed extreme frustration with the 777x delays and even converted some orders. Boeing is letting them be involved in the testing phase to calm them down
He didn't slander airbus aircraft, he said the engines are defective. Airbus does not make engines , rolls royce does.
