    I don't hate Embiid...
    I just hate his work ethic, attitude, foul-baiting, excuses, dirty play, lack of defense, blaming others, not performing in the clutch, being scared of Jokic, pleading for MVP, and laziness. That's it

    Also, Embiid is 100% to blame. I'm a Celtics fan and I've watched every series that the Embiid-era Sixers have played against Boston. In every series, Embiid underperforms at critical moments. It does not help Philly that he's not a high IQ player. Boston consistently doubles him because they know Embiid struggles to make the right read, let alone the right pass. They also know that despite his size, Embiid will settle for jumpers rather than push into the paint, even against a smaller defender. This why Boston is fine with rotating guards and wings to defend Embiid. Of all the big name teams in the East, Philly is the one I fear the least because I know Embiid doesn't have the IQ to lead his team to a win. Maybe one or two games he manages to dominate and secure a win, but most of the time Boston wins handily and makes it look pretty easy.

Winning NBA championships takes guys driven to win even at the detriment of "real life." Honestly, if I'm Philly I rest Embiid until after Christmas. Then let him play and remind everyone about the awesome stats he can put up. Then trade him in the offseason and build around Maxey for the future. The fact is that Embiid has never even gotten this team to a Conference Finals. It's time to give up on that and instead set up for the future. If Embiid has a healthy month or two, he'll drive his trade value back up. Also, moving towards a Maxey timeline would get the Sixers out of the window of having to compete with the juggernaut in Boston, as well as giving time for Cleveland to potentially break up and Giannis/Dame to age out. It just makes more sense.

    Btw Jokic IS NOT LAID BACK. This man work harder than anyone on the league. He's more emotional committed to the team and winning than anyone. He expect excellency and complete compromised to the goal of winning. He's really demanding on the court he expect the best from his teammates and he gets frustrated went they are playing bad and is the 1st one to come on screaming and yelling at his teammates on timeouts if they are forgetting plays and being out of position on defense. Jokic is on things not related to basketball, but once Basketball is the topic the man turn it on and become a perfectionist about his routines, work ethic and teammates effort. JOKIC IS NOT LAID BACK.

    Jokic is not know to be laid off kind a guy, maybe outside of basketball.
    But if you watch any interview of his teammates talking about him,
    They all say that he is the first to come and last to leave from the training, plus he is known to have a certain routine after the game that he sticks to it whether they win or lose.
    The guy is a disciplined beast, and yeah, he is super talented ofc, but most of his success comes from having a tremendous work ethic and being super disciplined.
    So don't compare him to Embid-Spoiled brat

    The Process was dumb from day one. So many PHI fans argued how great it was lmfao... Decade later and the young guys they got during that era of losing were- MCW, Nerlens, Dario, Jahlil, Joel, Markelle, and Ben....
    In that same span, plenty of teams won games and still built great rosters by actually making great moves. While PHI fans praised their dumb GM for trying to take a shortcut. So funny in hindsight but every PHI fan that believed in "the process" deserves this outcome.

  • @localneo-graphic4647
    @localneo-graphic4647 2 місяці тому

    In order to understand Morey's analytics, you need to think of basketball like a game, which it is, but in this thought experiment it's more like a board or video game. In this game, you have a limited amount of 'points' called dollars that you can spend, which is pretty much what dollars become once you are NBA-owner rich, and the limit is the hard-cap and the aprons.
    So just like a game where you can choose between a few ultra-powerful units, supported by expendable fodder, or a large, deep, yet weak army, with the player crunching the numbers to figure out which is best option, an NBA GM has to figure out what combination of players he can afford has the best chance of winning.
    This is literally how baseball works these days, WAR has a literal dollar value that GMs put a number on, and if you do it the 'old school' way, you end up like the White Sox. This is what Morey does, but unlike MLB, there is a limit in how much a player can be paid, even if their actual play is worth even more. THAT is why Morey chases superstars, because they are 'undervalued' because they are actually paid LESS than what they are worth. This level of 'analytics' may be so simple a child can understand it, but it still fits his approach of finding undervalued players, and regardless, it's not limited to just superstars. I think people forget just how good those Rockets supporting casts were, the Rockets were regularly turning nobodies and washed players into valuable assets, and that was all due to Morey's system of finding undervalued players with an analytics approach.
    I'm not going to defend Morey entirely, him ignoring actual human personalities and fit is what is causing the absolute disaster going on in Philly right now. Even back in Houston, it doesn't matter how great analytics say Dwight Howard would have been as a PnR rollman if he just straight up refuses to do it, I just think that people don't understand the logic behind his superstar driven approach.

He scored a lot but was a liability. Ime Udoka benched him and called him out. He's now playing better because if he doesn't, then he'll get benched.

As soon as they saw this stuff with Embiid they should have gotten rid of him. KPJ is overflowing with talent, we were paying him nothing, but the moment he messed with the locker room (after one forgivable event) we got rid of him. That’s not how winners act.
