Quadrophenia was Townsend & The Who at their Zenith! Moon 🥁 was like thunder from the gods Daltrey sounded like the voice of God! With the Precision of Entwistle's Bass electrifying it all together! Yes that was "The Who" at their finest hours of Recordings! Magical Sound of true Emotion at the Highest level! ✝️ 🙏
Saw The Who when they promoted this album in Chicago. I already had the album and knew every song. The craziest thing was Lynyrd Skynyrd opening up for these guys. I went and bought their album the next day. The Who are by and far my favorite group. No one band will ever do for me what they do for me. I fell in love with them when I saw them at The Electric Playground, if my mind serves me right, and I've been a lost cause ever since. God Bless The Who and God Bless that I've been able to see them so often. LONG LIVE ROCK!!!!
The album that changed my musical life. I heard this in 1982. I was already a young mod. But Quadrophenia changed me from a pop fan to a rock fan. Truly transformative.
anyone who wishes to know what a real rock bass player sounds like listen to any Who song. r.i.p John Entwisle , a.k.a THUNDERFINGERS. Great background singer as well.
5 unbelievable albums in a row ,... from Armenia City in the sky through Go to the mirror boy ! right up to this classic ! NO BAND ROCKED the charts quite like the who !! and this might be rock's first MEGA ALBUM RIGHT HERE !
Thank You, also for showing the booklet, I was 18 when I had it...Went to 82nd Airborne and lost it somehow. 61 now, but thank you again. Keep On Rocking!!!
My CD version has a pause as it goes from track 1 to track 2. The vinyl version without that pause is so much better as Ox's bass and the band come blasting in.
When you said "Le prime tre tracce dell'album dei The Who "Quadrophenia" direttamente dall'lp per una qualità audio senzazionale! (The first three tracks of The Who album "Quadrophenia" directly from the LP in an amazing audio quality!)" you were telling us the most absolute true!... Really a great sound!...

Thanks for the upload this is great, I think about only thing I liked better about the cd is that the bass sounds a little punchier but one thing I especially like about this rip the synths really soar! On the CD the synths are kind of muddled in the backround I'm not sure why.
One complaint to podcaster You didnt hang in long enough at end ( you cut short) and missed very important Entwhistle Bass note and drag at very end which without does injustice as important moment in fade away to this classic musical ensembke

Got the original 1973 mix on CD today. Bought the first CD release of the album. It's from 1984 and made in West-Germany on polydor. You can get it on Discogs. I have the 1996 release also. The original mix kicks ass and is far superior. Finally hearing the seals on the song The Dirty Jobs that everyone talks about.
all those sound specials were on little unmarked tape reels and got lost in the move out of the studio. the seals in Dirty Jobs, the "Go on..." in Cut My Hair just before the 2nd verse, and even the guitar lead in the opening of Cut My Hair is different. it's really sad.
You are on to it man. Original versions kick ass! "I went back to the doctor To get another shrink. I sit and tell him about my weekend, But he never betrays what he thinks. Can you see the real me, doctor? I went back to my mother I said, "I'm crazy ma, help me." She said, "I know how it feels son, Cause it runs in the family."
Song for song, i thought this album was just better than Tommy. Pete Townshend is at his songwriting very best here. And probably the best album from the Who before Keith died......but...... that's just me. 😎
Perhaps the Film soundtrack? Entwistle made some musical tweeks to the Movie track to avoid copyright infringement of their own work originally under a different label
Quadrophenia in its entirety is a work of genius.
To say the least.
Yeah if you know anything about the who
Indeed it is....
Quadrophinia broken then far flung little parts would be several works of genius, but definitely “album rock”
Exactly! You wrote the words right out of my sentence. Haha..
John Entwhistle playing lead with his bass. F'ing awesome.

Pete Townsend is a songwriter extraordinaire. I've been listening to the Who for 50+ years, never gets old.
Agreed

yes mate the best rock band of all time .
a true complete timeless classic
Just a musical masterpiece that brings me to tears at times The boys deserved every nickel they earned , if paid to entertain they did a marvelous job
Still have the vinyl lp. It cemented the Who as my favorite band.
Im back and nothing has changed Rarely has some musical genius been captured on 4 levels of expertise Spectacular piece!❤
The album that changed my musical life. I heard this in 1982. I was already a young mod. But Quadrophenia changed me from a pop fan to a rock fan. Truly transformative.
Awesome Album...Stunning Band... RIP Keith & John

Album fantastico, uno dei più belli degli WHO , ogni volta che vado al mare mi sembra di sentire I AM THE SEA !!! Ciao!
album mondiale
Sometimes words, music, and voice come together to create something truly great. This is one of those times.
Ox out-plays Pete on "Can You See The Real Me" Frankly awesome. Sometimes the old days really were all of that.
Greatly Appreciated, Ricklen!!! Listening from Northern Arizona In March 2024...
Nothing beats the vinyl version of this album!! I have several of them!!

One of the greatest bands ever......
Easily top 3 for me. In no particular order = Zep - Queen - -The Who
My older sister brought this home when I was 15. Great album, needless to say.
Awesome Upload! When rock was truly great.
Rock IS STILL KING!
Me define como persona, y me definirá cuando la gente que me quiera recordar piense en mí.

The bass volume is too low. Entwistle was freakin' awesome! RIP.
Great song and video, like it alot.I have an original U.S. copy of the album.Great stuff! Thanks for sharing yours.
Thank you for this vinyl rip. Thank you for the thoughtful view into the album jacket contents. Ads suck... but oh well.
Thanks for the upload this is great, I think about only thing I liked better about the cd is that the bass sounds a little punchier but one thing I especially like about this rip the synths really soar! On the CD the synths are kind of muddled in the backround I'm not sure why.
fantastic
I've still got my original LP from when it first came out. not played it for over twenty years as turntables are a thing of the past.
Turntables are making a HUGE comeback, along with vinyl. Don't kid yourself.

THANKS!!!!
Great album sonic :))) !

The Who o som londrino!!!
Digamos q sim....Um saludo de Italia....Amo Brasil...Ate' mais....
Roger wasn't happy with how low his vocals were on the original mix - they ARE a lot quieter
any one else hear a cat meow
Four geniuses???
my vinyl didnt have all that !!!
He was headed to Mavericks, ready to die. But then he heard this.
Maybe if you actually had The Real Me on here as titled !
It’s on here
Brilly....
secondo me dovevi alzare un po' il volume.
Per me va bene......Basta alzare il tuo volume, no?
The 1996 remaster, in my opinion, is better. I like the way the vocals sound, and the instruments sound less muffled.
