@@lexaneli you salt the water so the pasta is salty all the way through and it will taste way better. You boil the water first so cooking is more consistent and you won’t need to stir and baby it as much.
I made this tonight for dinner but I boiled the pasta in a separate pot and cooked broccoli, garlic and mushrooms in a separate pan. Then I added the cooked pasta but the pot was too full so I had to transfer to a 3rd pot 😂 It still turned out delicious at the end and I have lots left for tomorrow at least 🙂
@@regaliaretailfashionmerch4314 no it’s not. Or with this kind of cooking you are maintaining all the starch but, you can do the same preserving a glass of boiling water and using it in the pan.
Wow! I love the simplicity of this - both the one-pot method for easy clean-up and how there's not many ingredients you have to buy. Looks super yummy!
Thats way to much feta for that amount of pasta imo, especially with lemon added thats going to be too tart and way too overpowering on the feta, especially if you are using Athenos.
Lemon zest isn’t tart at all & you only add a little.. there’s really no ‘right way’ to do things.. If you don’t like that much cheese than simply:use less. I personally have made this & I loved it. My fiancé also loved it & he actually isn’t typically a big fan of feta cheese.
Pre mix all the topping into a large bowl and then dump that into the pasta so when you mix with the spoon it's easy and food doesn't spill on your stove from turning to mash the cheese or spread the vegetables evenly 😊
For those saying this is wrong or disturbing it is perfectly fine. Just made differently than some make it. She added the boiling water TO the pasta instead of the pasta to the boiling water. And the feta cheese is delicious. Any cheese of choice can be used. AGAIN, there is nothing wrong or disturbing about cooking pasta this way

Pls don't. That is feta abuse. Bake it in the oven topped with tomato and pepper slices and oregano. Many ideas how to use it in various versions BUT this abomination.
I like the technique, but I would make it more Greek style: first confit grape tomatoes and garlic cloves in plenty of EVOO, low and slow. When the pasta is almost done, add the confited tomatoes and smashed but still chunky garlic cloves, along w/ dried oregano and dried mint. Add a block of good feta (i.e., sheep and goat milk), broken up by hand, baby spinach, and grated lemon zest. Mix until the spinach is wilted and the feta is melty. Then add halved kalamata olives and thinly sliced scallions, and give a final mix. Top each serving w/ the EVOO from the confit along w/ pine nuts toasted in the oil.
@@messyludo1269 That's not something you can disagree on haha, it's a fact broccoli only takes a few minutes. If you prefer it overcooked, of course you can cook it longer xD That's a personal preference, but the broccoli is fully cooked after just a few minutes. Something interesting to note: cooking it longer will actually cause it to break apart and lose many nutrients. Fun fact: Eating it raw, however, is actually quite healthy. Though I wouldn't enjoy that on my pasta either.

Im so lucky to have feta and olive oil from greek producers as a greek. But maybe there could hundrends of industries producing feta beyond the ones i know here in Greece.
You would put the pasta in much more salted water than that seen here only after It starts boiling in order to obtain a perfect Italian pasta. And, please, "al dente" possibly! Love from Florence 🇮🇹

Nice idea but 1. you should add your pasta to boiled and salted water for it to develop flavor 2. Broccoli needs more time to cook (at least 7-8 minutes) 3. The amount of feta for the pasta is a lot, it will not taste balanced at all.

When did u put the feta cheese?!
so basically you didn’t make this 😭
I've had a single pan idea turn into 3 pans because there was too much stuff. The end result was worth the extra washing.
Boil the pasta and broccoli in the same pot. If there is too much water left in the pot, pour it out. Then add the remaining ingredients. Ta-da 🎉😊
