- A tool-assisted speedrun of Blue Shift Cutsceneless by Snok in the time of 11:34.648.
Done with unlimited fps, enabled bunnyhop cap, latest Steam version, without using the "wait" command.
This project has been in the works for over a year, with the routing starting from 30th May 2021 and the ending of the scripting process at 18th June 2022. This was over 385 days of blue shift cutsceneless and I couldn't be any prouder of how it turned out.
Done in 46 segments.

That's an excellent run. I just wish we had a full HL1 tas. Quadrazid has made some cool showcases of some insane TAS tech that can be utilized in the Gold Source engine.

I'm surprised nobody in the comments is complaining that the videos framerate is inconsistent. I guess the viewers on this channel actually tend to know what's going on!
The Framerate in Half-Life affects the behavior of NPC's animations.
For example, on 4:31 Rosenberg would not have turned that quick if the framerate was consistent.

It's TAS (tool-assisted speedrun), yes scripts are more than allowed, and every frame of movement is mathematically proven to strafe optimally.
We made it but worth better.

Nah bruh, I'm terrible at playing RTA, thats why I chose to tas it. If you can get good at tasing then it doesn't matter how bad you are RTA.

no. 3000 lines of code specifying what action to do for every single frame.
tasing is not AI but we do have an AI assistant which is a bruteforcer. it just does random shit until it finds the best possible solution, but we cant just do that for the whole game sadly because it wouldn't work. So a majority of it had to be done manually

No, it's a TAS (tool assisted speedrun). Not meant to be compared to human runs, we use a script to strafe 1000 times a second, slow the game down, manip rng, etc.

I literally have no idea what I'm even looking at watching these. These are the far less interesting kinds of speedruns to watch because it's hard to know if it's impressive or not, it's just a bunch of random things I can't make heads or tails out of.
