It's really great how you take the time to explain how strats work for those who might not be familiar with them, and I think this has been edited really well. :3
thank you! I'm glad you've liked the vid :D
Damn hexide is everywhere
@@Eold hexide sees all
Why who's that handsome runner in the video 😳
Jokes aside, great work, it was entertaining to watch from start to finish, and I'm glad I could help out with it. Cheers and good luck with your next project!
These videos always amaze me, as a programmer myself (although not games) I just love seeing how completely unintended abuse of code can lead to such an awesome run. truly an art!
This is incredible. It's clear to see so much effort has been put into the video - hope it gets the views it deserves.
really enjoyable to watch, I really loved the visual representation of certain techniques, bugs etc., really in-depth analysis of the run that is easy to follow and understand what is going on, gj!
This is insanely impressive. I can hardly believe that a human can successfully perform such a complex, difficult and long sequence of actions that is required to complete this run. Absolutely insane. Thank you for pausing and explaining all the tricks - without your insight this would be completely incomprehensible to an average viewer like myself.
This video was really well done. Ive never sat down and really watched a speed run and understood what was happening, but your explanations were both really good/understandable but very concise. That enabled me to keep my attention while completely understanding what was going on.
Great video! Genuinely one of the best speedrun explainer formats and the visuals were excellent too!
13:42 That explains a lot of the awkwardness of their pathfinding and why a lot of the times they'll reach a point and go "nope, won't go further, deal with it." Either there is no node ahead or they can't reach it for some reason. I always just thought it was because the AI didn't know how to move diagonally.
I know that map skip because I found it by accident. Slowly pushing him in the direction of that door also works.
Brilliant video!. I love that you explain everything so that I don't have to pause and look it up elsewhere!
23:50 "Sh1+!" says an HECU soldier seeing a wild Freeman bhopping along at mach 1.
Awesome video, great visual explanations!
This is crazy interesting. You are such a good teacher.
Great watch! HL1 seems like a perfect speedgame.
Wow this is so well edited and made it made it easy to follow, deserves so many more views with all this effort
So much work and so well explained. I enjoyed this very much!
The fan at 12:58 scared me!
lol how
This is excellently ,edited and explained❤
This felt like watching a movie, fantastic job!
I never would've suspected just how much math goes into this.
Incredible work. Being this precise, descriptive and fun, it's super hard. A lot of effort on editing, playing with the engine, animating compositions and investigation went to it, I know that for sure. Thanks S4N7R0! Great video
I've only tried scriptless, so it's cool to see the little differences between the two runs. Nice and thorough explanation!
I watched many speedruns of half-life and a couple explainations and also played the game myself but this video teached me soooo much new stuff. The level of production is also top-end. I would love to see more, you can easily become a 100k+ youtuber with these skills.
This video is SO GOOD, and is truly a delight for fans of video games and especially Half-Life! You should have way more views for this video!!!
I thought I knew a fair bit about the run but i was wrong haha. Good video!
good video bro, nice stuff. I really needed a good explanation on this speedrun.
I really liked this video a lot, and I really enjoyed how you paused at key times to explain mechanics. Looking very forward to your next vid! One thing that would help me, because I have a bit of a disorganized mind, would be to slow down some of the technical explanations by a small %. But this is TOP TIER work, thank you!
this was a really well put together explanation, keep up the good work :)
Great video! It doesn't need to be tied only to the current record, its relevant for years to come :)
This was really interesting, thank you!
i love how explaning a speedrun took more time than the speedrun itself
excellent commentary, I hope you make a video about half-life 2 next
This video describes how my brain works while playing games i like versus when i’m in school, it shuts off when i try to study and learn 😢😂
This video was amazing, the only reason it doesn’t have more views is because it wasn’t tomatoanus who posted it. Top quality video man thank you 🙌🙌
14:52 I love how in sync the "open the silo door" was!
half-life is my favorite game to play and my favorite game to watch speedrun. this is a legendary video and you should be proud!! liked subbed and all that shit
Amazing explaination!
Gordon doesn't need to hear all days, he is a trained professional.
It's funny how the devs gave those NPCs such agency to open locked doors and stuff.
now, i do consider myself a half-life OG ( i’ve known this game ever since i was already 1yr old ) but i can’t just comprehend how people do this
Good video loved the explanations
Very nice video man
This video deserves more views!
awesome video dood
simply incredible
Absolutely extraordinary explainer
Great Job Thank you so much.
What an amazing video I hope this gets a lot of views
mutty is a true champ, great vid btw!
awesome vid man :)
thanks for explaining watched the whole video without blinking XD
Finally somebody decides to explain what is happening during those speedruns to us mortals.
16:46
Fun Fact:you can also avoid the damage by ladder
This should have much more views
can only agree with everyone else and thank you!... Xen was such a nightmare back in the day.... hahah
i used to watch LOLYOU on twitch
dude is a legend, and he also played hl1 speedrun sometimes when he got bored of csgo
that was ages ago and until this day i love and play half life 1
Took me a mounth to finish this game in the 90s
Very nice explanation. Even a noob could understand it :D
Nice work, man.
It was the rotating bullsquid for me.
This video is almost twice as long as the speedrun itself.
an enjoyable experience
- señor white, no me resulta el obbo...
- jesse, ¿qué es obbo?
- Object Boosting Señor white
Great video :))
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
♥
Would you ever do the 20min segmented run? lots of small cool tricks in that one. Great video btw
that's a cool idea, the segmented run goes crazy but imo it's a similar run but done really fast with some obscure strategies in some areas. I think this vid already explains a lot of stuff thats happening in it.
I demand my 44minutes and 27 seconds back.
The thumbnail has fooled me into thinking it was a video explaining the story of Half Life in under 26 minutes
Instead I got a speedrun histroy lesson, I would've clicked off but the video was simply too good to click of
So I watched it in it's entirety
So I want my 44minetes and 27 secends back that i really enjoyed, please.
Good video
good video
Bravo!
you should make a video comparing scriptless and scripted, showing how they differ etc.
Nobody gonna talk about how fast the levels transition?
Since it's a demo replay, loading screens aren't recorded.
@@MsVlad54rus oh
Residue Processing looks a lot faster than HL21 (20:41). Do you know how much time could be saved in a segmented run? Enough to get under 20 min?
with all the new stuff discovered since the release of HL21, it def seems like beating it under 20 min is a possibility. RPClip and Gonarch skip alone would save like 30 secs?
1K subs. It was me ;)
relly noice
Nice video, a higher resolution would be nice though
Nice video 😏
how is the script run slower than the any%?
Rotating bullsquid
need more explanations
but saved always made new bug
Sub26 without scripts tomorrow
Titanfall runs on the Source engine???
Yes, but modified heavily enough that it probably contains its own custom behavior and quirks in most places.
How do you lower FPS on demand?
It's possible to bind commands to a key, for example: "bind x fps_max 4" , "bind c fps_max 100"
crysis is half life with more halves
puta merda speedrun é foda demais eu não aguento porraaaa
Is there some real speed runs without hacks and botts and shit? otherwise cool vid :)
yeah i linked the non scripted run in the description
Isn't quadrazid the first with 20 min?
Quadrazid was the lead organizer for the half-life in 20:41 speedrun, which was segmented and done with other runners.
How'd he skip G-Man tho?
IS WHAT i was lookin for since 15 years: how to of speedrun of HL1
