  • Hi, this is Jia.
    I would like to share my favorite Korean recipes with you.
    I've been running Korean cooking class and food tour company in Seoul, Korea for the last 10 years.
    I wanted to share my secret recipes which are both easy to make and delicious.
    I hope you enjoy my video!

    Costco carries this thick cut of raw pork belly. It's fresh, never been frozen, and at a great price.

      @@TSA333 I am getting one this week to brine and then make apple wood smoked bacon with. I got the wood chips (3lb bag) at Sportsman's Warehouse for $6. I also got the Prague powder at a local meat processing market. When done I'll give most of it away to my friends. I love to cook.

    Went to Korean grocery store today asked where the pork belly was the clerk should me the freezer which had Pork Butt in slices is that ok? Then I purchase packages of Kimchi that were refrigerated and some ssamjang. Going to try this for dinner I also purchased lettuce for wraps.

      Ssam, which is lettuce wrap with a dipping sauce and kimchi works great with this dish! : )

      @@JiaChoiChef Thanks for your reply. Really appreciate that. I already do it that way but when I go to the Korean restaurant they serve 4-5 really delicious sidedishes. My two favorites are potatoes cut into small pieces that taste kind of sweet and black beans. I have not found these on your channel. Would love to see your take on those.

    Your video states to put the "fat down" on the frying pan. Did you remove the skin? Because it looks to me like the skin of the pork belly is still there, so did you mean "skin-side down"?

    • @JiaChoiChef
      @JiaChoiChef  Рік тому +1

      I didn't remove the skin of the pork. I cooked from skin side. Yes, skin-side down : )

  • @Kitty_Lechat
    @Kitty_Lechat 4 місяці тому

    The skin is tough

    • @JiaChoiChef
      @JiaChoiChef  4 місяці тому

      Maybe the pork was too thick. If you don't enjoy it just get rid of the skin part.
