Tourette's syndrome is a neurological condition and disability which causes involuntary movements called tics. I use my platforms on social media such as TikTok, UA-cam and Instagram to advocate and raise awareness for the condition and show what it is like living with a disability as a teen in school.
My name is Zara Beth (zeezee25 on tiktok) and I post videos about tics, tic disorders and what its like to be a teen living with Tourette's syndrome, Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) and a seizure disorder (NEAD/NES).
I show what its like having tics and Tourettes in class and in school and college, vlog, and I also bake, do other challenges and answer all your questions in Q and A videos.
I am also an ambulatory wheelchair user so I show what life looks like using various mobility aids and how needs change from day to day!
I am also a musician! My newest release is my first single (original song) called "She's Mine" which is now available on all streaming services - I sing and play piano, guitar, ukulele and I write, produce, mix and master all my own songs and content myself!

I think your letting us see into your world will help people understand the challenges you face. Like learning about ambulatory wheelchair users opened my eyes a bit. My girlfriend and I both have occasional problems getting around and may need assistance in the future. Much respect and affection from Atlanta.

    Amazing job Zara 💜
I have a question for anyone who wants it: I'm curious why I become extremely uncomfortable watching movies with other people. Like I hate watching Movies because I don't know if any uncomfortable or cringey things will happen. Or if it's emotional or covers the topic of abuse or anything like that. I hate sitting through movies with others and I don't know why.

it’s quite a common trait of autism! it’s something i’ve struggled with a lot - i only pretty much only watch disney movies or studio ghibli because of that reason 😂

you are 100% not alone ❤ and it isn’t a fault at all!! it’s not a bad thing, if you don’t want to watch things that upset you because you’re sensitive to that then that’s perfectly okay!
just stick to what makes you happiest because everybody is different :)

I had never seen your channel before today, but I was recommended one of your shorts which led me to this video. I'm so stunned because my girlfriend is going through a lot of the same things that you are. She's been diagnosed with tourette's, and she also has seizures similar to what you mentioned (only being able to move eyes) and she also has paralysis occaisionally. I'm definitely going to mention FND to her. Thank you for being so open about your disabilities and i hope you stay as healthy and well as you can

Hi, I have cerebral palsy and I'm 63 years old. I just want you to know that I stand with you in solidarity. I come from an era in which even basic neurological differences were judged and stigmatized. Even today in the United States, I have to be less than completely truthful to get a power wheelchair because the government rules state that a person who is eligible for government assistance in getting an electric wheelchair cannot stand or pivot, let alone walk. It doesn't matter that I don't have enough control in my hands to be able to propel, never mind turn, a manual wheelchair and I can't push my hips back into the chair so I need a power chair that does it for me. When I was honest and stated that I use my crutches transfer in and out of a wheelchair and that I am able to walk very very short distances, I was denied a power chair so now, I buy my own crutch holder after I have a power chair. Even with all that, I have to pay 20% of whatever the cost is out of my own pocket. We in the US have good medical care but it's expensive. Such is the life of an ambulatory wheelchair user like yourself.
You are young, articulate and very very cute. You are friendly and outgoing and you find the best in life regardless of your many challenges. You are a model for the rest of us. Thank you for being you and for making the world a better place. Thank you for doing all you can to bring us together instead of separating us. You will be instrumental in making changes. Thus creating a world that is not woke, but rather genuinely inclusive for you are no one's victim. You are a strong, capable and kind young woman. I am very glad I share the planet with you! Be blessed always exclamation point!

Brave girl! I so much can relate to this. I was told to have FND with very different symptoms + other chronic illnesses, both physical and mental. Some of them "invisible", so I'm judged that I cannot have them, because I don't look like if I would have them... That's at least so isolating, then having more obvious issues, because not even the closest to you don't understand. Not being believed is really frustrating and upsetting.

I remembered something really strange that has happened to me before while watching this (no this didn't happen to me while watching the video, I remembered it while watching the video), which is that a couple of times while at school, my Tourette's sort of seized up my whole body and I could not move except for my eyes, which freaked me out a little bit, and nobody really realized I couldn't do anything until the girls that I was sitting at the same table at looked at me and they got kind of worried, and then one of the girls, who is REALLY REALLY WEIRD came over to me and PRETENDED TO LICK MY HAND and it was really weird but then I got full control back. Has anybody ever heard of such a thing happening with Tourette's?
Edit: By the way I have never been officially diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome, but I have had tics for four years, and my mom really doesn't believe that I have no control, and she thinks I'm just attention seeking. None of my teachers know either, and I'm in 8th grade and my sister's in 6th, and she's a really popular 6th grader, so I have to make sure that nobody in 6th grade finds out or else I will get in so much trouble with my mom for "faking a disorder that many people struggle with every day"
so it's a lot of stress and even though I know that probably nobody will really see this and read all the way through it, I just wanted to get it off my shoulders. Thanks if you did read this though!
❤❤❤ and good luck to all the people out there just like me in difficult situations with Tourette's!

I take meds for a disautonomía but I only take when the symptoms are really hard, I also take meds to block the pain in the brain that's the worst, they block almost all functions of my body.
Then I'm always in doubt if they're good or bad. But fainting and having brain isquemia supere not

It depends. You might have a motor tic disorder. If you want you can go to a doctor if it's hurting you, or you want some kind of clarification.
If you want to be diagnosed, you have to have the tics for a hole year.

This girl is unbelievable, btw no one seizing for 10 hours, at most it’s 5 minutes. She’s clearly faking it and seizures aren’t “tickly feeling” trust me I know.

    • @d4red3v1l8
      @d4red3v1l8 7 місяців тому +1

Are you her? Are you her doctor? No you’re not so you have 0 proof that she’s lying. And seizures can absolutely last for hours, everyone is different, you may have the same disorder as her but i’m sure you both deal with it completely differently.
You’re so obsessed with her, there was no need to make 57 comments.
You can have the same disorder as someone but both of you will deal with it differently and experience it differently. Just because you haven’t had a seizure for 10 hours it doesn’t mean she hasn’t either, she literally showed herself in the hospital, what proof do you have that she’s faking her disorders?
