    Hey Angie, hope you’re safe and doing great. I’ll be waiting for part 2. The Oregon coast is beautiful indeed but when it’s cloudy and foggy it can sucks for sure. The Pacific NW is overcast 3/4 of the year it seems. Anyway…I really enjoy your videos. It’s your production style. Informative, fun and comical at times. You’ve even brought us along when you opened up about parts of your past that made me feel what you felt. Very excellent. I did get misty eyed…I’m looking forward to your future videos…🙏🏼Thanks for your efforts to make great videos.

    I love Oregon coast whether it’s foggy or sunny! But I’ve been living in Oregon now for 30 or so much years. So I love it no matter what! It’s all about how you look at it. When it’s cold out, you just bundle up, layer up and snuggle in. When it’s sunny out you, enjoy it and explore. Yes Oregon is beautiful!

    Fog makes the smell of the ocean, the seaweed, even the sand so much more pungent. I love it. But then, I lived in Santa Monica for 25 years.There's nothing better than sitting on an empty (of people) beach early in the morning. 6:00 am early. The beastie you were asking about is a sea urchin, if it was purple. If it was green it's a sea anemone. If you gently put your finger in the middle, it will curl up and grasp your finger. The key word here is gently! I have to say, that part of the western coast is stunning. Thanks for the ride.

    There's definitely something magical about the ocean.... like you, I could easily spend a vast amount of time just watching the ocean do it's thing. Also like you, my mood is affected by the weather... it's Winter here, but the sun's out today, yay! ☀️😊 The scenery, the ocean, the forest walk - simply stunning Angie ❤

    As for the tide pool creature, they are sea anemones. If you touch it (gently) they will close up on you. Not that we did that a lot as kids or anything. Lol

    Angie that's what happens when you try to visit a Microsoft Windows default background in person. It flakes out until you install the latest update, which it appears that you just did. 🤣
    Did you hear the Windows startup sound in the distance? 😂
    Seriously though, having driven the entire PCH, the section from just north of San Francisco to the Olympic Peninsula is spectacular. I actually think it would be kind of cool to see it in fog. I've seen it in winter, when it was stormy and rainy, which is also nice. But clearly, sunny days are the best.
    If you're ever up in Washington you definitely have to visit Olympic National Park. It's basically three parks in one, the coastal part, the rain forest, and the mountains. And if you ever visit or pass by Seattle there's a park there that I used to live near and occasionally walk or run through that's a mini version of your hike through the forest by the beach, Carkeek Park.
    It's basically a tiny forest that's what's left of the original old growth forest with a small creek that still has a small salmon run each year (or did when I lived there), that ends at the beach with a spectacular view of the Olympic mountains and Puget Sound (and Amtrak trains when they pass by under the beach bridge). It's a bit out of the way so it's rarely too crowded.

    • @angieontour1
      @angieontour1  Рік тому +1

      Wow, that must have been an epic drive! I'll have to do the whole thing one day, because it really is so beautiful! Olympic is definitely on the bucket list, seems like a very complex park. I'll have to add that place to my Washington list! Thanks for the tip, I like rarely crowded places haha! That sounds really neat.

    • @kovie9162
      @kovie9162 Рік тому

      @@angieontour1 I've done it twice, in both directions, one in winter and one in summer, and both way too fast. You really need at least 2-3 days to even begin to do it justice and get more than just a taste, because access to many of the more interesting parts of the park is limited as there are few roads in it and basically none on the eastern side, making it one of the wildest places in the US. So you have to do a lot of walking and hiking if you don't have a 4x4. But when I lived in Seattle I had a clear view of the Olympics from my apartment so they will always have a special place in my heart. And since large parts of the park are tribal lands, that's yet a fourth aspect to it.
